Canggu, Bali: Why It May Not Be the Ideal Destination for Everyone
After following other travel content creators on social media whilst planning our trip to Bali we knew we had to visit Canggu. It is one of the most recommended places to visit in Bali and we were so excited to get there. We flew into Denpasar and took a Grab taxi straight to Canggu.
We had booked to stay for 3 days BUT we were ready to move on after the first day. We really thought we had missed something - why is Canggu so popular? We just didn’t get it. After speaking with others that had visited Canggu they all said the same ‘Canggu is not what it is hyped up to be’. However, we also know that Canggu is very popular for surfers so if you like to surf you should definitely visit Canggu. Otherwise - it’s a personal choice! If we were to do it again we would probably just give it a miss.
HOWEVER, Canggu does have some of the nicest cafes and restaurants. In fact, we would say Canggu had the best options for Western food in Bali - especially if you love trendy cafés and oh my gosh it is avocado smash heaven!!
Also Canggu comes alive at sunset. Everyone flocks to the beach to watch the sun go down with a Bintang in hand. There are also local people performing traditional balinese dance for donations. The nightlife in Canggu is supposed to be amazing especially with the range of Beach clubs. Unfortunately we cannot comment on Canggu’s nightlife as we did not venture out to experience it but from what we saw, the beach clubs are very fancy so make sure to bring a nice outfit if you are into that sort of thing.

Hi there just regarding covid documents, did you have to scan any barcodes or Qatar airways just look at your paper certificate? Also is the app still in use at the airport?
Qatar just looked at the certificates. Ours had the barcode on the paper certificates but they didn’t scan them or anything. Bali didn’t look at them at all!

@@cgeo128 no we didn’t use it at all. We had downloaded it just in case they asked but it didn’t work for us anyway. I wouldn’t worry too much about it 😊

It doesn't get much more FARANG than this. They're perplexed that everything is "in Thai" whilst IN THAILAND. No info on where to catch the bus, how much it cost, how long the drive was, cost of the hotel, name of the restaurant, or anything else that a potential traveler would want to know.
Bus was £20 about 825 baht.😀

Hello, really liked your video. I was hoping you could tell me the approximate cost of sha+ hotel including RT-PCR test for 1 day. It is really confusing on the net. Thanks
Thank you! Feel free to subscribe- more to come. Unfortunately there isn’t an approximate as every hotel is different. We paid 8,400 Baht as a couple deal with our SHA + hotel. It was the cheapest for a couple that we could see at the time. Hope that helps 😊
