Would u be able to start a pit bike without connecting the harness wires to stator since the cdi & ignition cause spark?
Where do I get that sissy bar
I made it
I'd like to have seen how you got the seat to mount up
sorry cant remember how it mounted
@@kylescreations4724 I did mine yesterday. Seemed to figure it out. 😆
Yeah try this carb on your first motorbike you ever owned... I'm confused 😑
Im sorry but there are some after market options a littlr expensive but less hassle
Love the sissy bar! Where did you find it?
made that one
I have a 110cc I play around on to keep the kid in me happy. Thanks for the tips sir, Gonna go through all that now & she will be better off!!
Right on!
Hey! I just got one of these and I'm working on getting mine rebuilt and running right, could i email you to chat about this?
yeah or text or call 4803229107
My stator is burning up. Please help
my trick would help but sounds like you need a stator
Hi,i have an scooter,i put multiple cdi s in there but dosen t start, with the old one starts and with new one dosen t,can you tell me what to do? The old one work s but after some time dies and i need to knock it
could be bad or wrong cdi
@kylescreations4724 I have a question, are you answering questions at all?
I am whats up
@@kylescreations4724 I figured it out. I didn't know if the pick up coil should be grounded on one side and the cdi going to the other with a 4 wire DC cdi. It works with one side to ground. Thanks for making these videos!
@kylescreations4724 Great Video! People can learn a lot from this. A diagram or just showing the wires on the bike could help people who are not very educated in this area. I get all of it but i have been learning for a few days. Anyone at my intermediate level would be fine. New comers might benefit from an example of showing the wires and parts on the bike. Only a suggestion, amazing information!
probably right going to get better with videos
Please can I do this on my kawasaki zx9r
should work just need some info
I am so happy that I ran across you thank you so much we need more ppl like you brother
thank you let me know if you have any questions
Man drive it home you stay off topic and repeat shit over and over .I normally do not wate my time l texting but you say nothing about hack u ramble on and on making no sense what so ever sorry you make me want to burn my bike have another smoke. Hook another black wire and splice it to there and run signal black and then go to black and white so ya kill wire color black white wire and of all the curves crazy and keep a star looks good and ìf you like 👍 and spark is good 👍 bike is 👍 ac is just like crap then that tells me that it wasn't anyéǰ̣¾
Do you have a link for the repair tool you used?
i dont
Need help, 82 virago 750, have 2 dc cdi, tried grounding one wire from each of the 2 sets of pickup coils to ground, the other to signal, and can’t get any spark
look up harvey spooner he has some videos that will help
Ok im so confused however ill admit, not a hard thing to do! DC or AC but if you get them backward it'll starts playing Hells Bells by AC/DC! I am just trying to establish proof of life! On a Polaris e wheeler!
look up harvey spooner he has some videos that will really help
Have another bike a 82 virago how would I wire it? I have 2 dc cdi and I can’t figure it out
I need help with my 1995 gxsr 1100 Suzuki one and four cylinder fires but two and three dont
I would start with the pulse generator that signals for 2/3. Then suspect the coil. But if everything checks out. Will need a meter and a manual for specs. Then it’s the cdi/ecu
How do I find one with the square tail lights
I couldn’t find one not for cheap
My pulse coil has 2 wires does one go to ground ?
yes
My 1956 730-20 looks just like yours. The motor is under the seat, just one belt straight back to the gearbox, no jackshaft. The box is full of 2 large 12V batteries.
I’m sure mine had battery powered as well but a lot of hands been in there before me
Hello again, it’s a 87 Yamaha moto4 350 4x2 single cylinder. But it has 2 pulse coils in stator housing. I’ve been told one is for reverse, that doesn’t make sense to me, and someone said the second is for spark advance. Not sure how to hook it up. Can you specify?
To my knowledge all spark advance is done either mechanical or through the cdi ore ecu. The reverse also would be through the cdi and set a rev limit. Check for second cdi just for reverse maybe that’s where the second pulser goes. Honda used a cdi just for reverse for a while. I know more about Hondas from that era than Yamaha but two pulser on single cylinder doesn’t make sense the factory timing set by flywheel it’s the cdi job to advance or retard spark timing. Get the wire diagram see where it goes
What if you have an old Yamaha with TWO pulse coils? Do you tie both signal wires to the blue/white to a DC cdi?
If it has two pulse coils the you need two dc cdi. If it’s a four cylinder 1 and 4 fire at the same time and cylinder 2 and 3. So you need two cdi and coil for each pulse coil
@@kylescreations4724but if you have 4 wires coming from the stator what do you do with the other two
غير جميل وغير احترافي
thank you
How do I connect a 6pin cdi to a 5 pin scooter harness
just need to order a pigtail or wire adapter there out there for 10$
Excellent video, gonna do the 4 pin dc cdi setup on a 87 moto4 350. Just have to figure out which wire is my pulse wire from bike. Unclear in manual.
Good luck! not sure on color for that yamaha might have to take side cover off and physically look
I having the same problem 😫
there are two black 6 pin connectors right where the battery is make sure those plugs havent been switched around
@@kylescreations4724 thanks bro I’ll double check again
Kyle I would like to send you a picture I took of where the exhaust pipe go's into the head of the engine on a ATV 125 - F 20014.08 if you look at the picture I would like to send you , maybe you can tell me if this is normal or not ?? Is a piece broken here ? or is this the way it should be ? I did not take this exhaust pipe off the head , so I have not idea if this is the way it should look or not ??? I am wondering if ordering a new exhaust system, and by the way they do not come with the Calif crap air pipe on them. I am wondering if when the pipe go's into the head and bolted down if this takes care now going into the head the pipe that is it cover up that part that looks like it is missing ? and it is just the way they made the hole that way or is this broken ??? How do I send pictures of this to you ?? so you can look at what I am talking about above , so you can advise me on this . Bill Juster in Wis. at justerwilliam@yahoo.com
All DC , CDI units have extra wire some wires therein the ground comes into Play
yup usually the black and white wire is not used on the dc cdi thx for watching
Hey Kyle, I’ve got an 83 Honda Xl 600r that has that round style plug. I’m wanting to update since 40 y/o electronics are bound to leave me stranded at some point. The only CDIs I can find now are for 6 pin two plug style. Do you know if that could be used by adding a pigtail to covert it?
yes the 6 pin double plug cdi will work and yes you can just find the pigtail plug usually about 10. the wire colors will be very close actually. there will be two green wires both are ground dont ask why they did that but the other colors are the same. blue wire pulse generator. black yellow ignition coil. red is power from stator. im going to do another video on this topic soon.
Nice, thanks Kyle. Could you post a link to one of those pigtails or if that’s against the rules, what would you reccomend I type on eBay to find it?
Did you answered every single one of my questions, thanks so much
glad I could help
I got a Suzuki gs 250 thats not getting fire will i be able to do this if so can i use the cid box thats original cdi on it id really like to know
just depends on why its not sparking but you will need a dc cdi I prefer the square 4 pin cdi
Dont need the stator winding for the cdi. Just put in a dc cdi with power from the battery
correct
Thankyou
You’re welcome 😊
What is the blue wire for from the engine that is with the orange and grey and black wire s
I believe its the neutral light wire
I have the same bike same problem
mine started by accidently removing a resistor when i wired the bike back up ran for 30 sec that was the end of the cdi but this actually worked really well
Where did you get that rear fender? Having trouble finding a good rebel rear fender that isn't too wide a radius, that one looks good.
unfortunately it came with the bike not sure where they got it
You had an AC plus in the DC CDI.
yes just showing that you can make a dc cdi work when the bike uses an ac cdi.. maybe the part of the stator that provides power goes bad this would be a solution
Can you draw a wire diagram ?
probably could dont have the bike anymore. so the wiring on the bike is by memory. the cdi i can tell you what each wire does
I just subscribed.
thank you. im going to do another video talking about this subject soon
Those are cheap AC chinese CDI boxes. I have some laying around
they are cheap keep a couple extra around they seem to either last forever or die super quick
@@kylescreations4724 I watched the other video it is the 4 pin DC version you just have the AC plug in it.
I have an old hnonda cb 750. This looks like the solution.
what year? does it have electronic ignition or points
@@kylescreations4724 spark Units. 1980. I got it to fire up.
Ingenious my friend!
thank you also got this to work on a 2 stroke jet ski
I've been searching like a mad man, but I cannot find any information on how the CDI box advances the timing. I picked up a gs500 that burned. I'm just gonna make a minimalist harness but wanted to build a CDI for it. I understand the basic concept. I believe the advance is done with resistors. If that is the case I can use a variable resistor and a timing light to adjust it until it fires at the correct advance. This is all just a theory, but it's nice to see someone else successfully using alternative cdi boxes on a bike. If anyone can point me in the direction of a book or some reading material I would really appreciate it
I had another video where I showed me hooking two of the cdi up for a yamaha xj 750. the advance part of the cdi is ok at idle the bike used to rev out just fine im sure we lost performance but the bike ran well. Also they make these cdi with no advance if you wanted to experiment making your own advance
also got it to work on a 2 stroke jetski work great ski had plenty of power but the rev limiter in the cdi wouldnt let the ski rev out. hurt the top speed. but they wanted 250 for the cdi and 10 bucks got me back on the water
@@kylescreations4724 thank you. From what I can tell, with mine it needs 40* of advance. I found out it's actually a digital cdi unit so I have to make one and write some code to make it work right. I'm still gonna try the cheap ones just to hear it run. Save me a lot of time
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌. Actually got it to run a 2 stroke jet ski going to do a video soon
Why people still giving incomplete info if its a dc cdi 4t will not have the same timing to spark a 2t and vise verca .. same whit a ac cdi smfh
why are people still not listening I clearly said that it will not have the same timing but close enough to get them running you will probably loose some performance but it will run. just put a china ac cdi just like the video in a 2 stroke!!!!!! jet ski ran great. eddie its best to treat everyone with respect you never know who your talking too. could be a midget kungfu master or worse. just spend 20 and give it a try on some junk i think youll be suprised
@@kylescreations4724 lmao u still don't answer my question old kymcos scooter like the kymco cobra racer /cross/ top boy have a 2t dc cdi one they use only 4 plug out of the 6 pin connector second . The 2 pin connector are in the left side and the 4 pin connector are in the right side at least for 2stroke stock cdi .. so what is the difference on that and what's the difference on a 4t cdi and a 2 stroke CD cdi ... ect because I don't think the pin out connector will be the same as any other aftermarket dc cdi
I’ve seen that if you remove the spring it allows the gears to contact the flywheel properly
That might be true but you need that spring to help return the starter. Stronger battery takes care of the issue without tearing into it
Just change the stator?
yes but you might not have 100$ for stator but 10$ for cdi, or in some cases they dont make the stator or cdi sometimes.
Hi I have a Honda h5518 tractor it's a 1990s mini compact tractor I have a cdi box I'm not sure with it's green plugs and it's black. It has the green four square and also the the green two plug . The four plug has 2 ground the other two have power when turn the engine over .04volts . The smaller plug has one wire it also has power when I turn engine over about 8 volts that from just the wire harnesses no CDI box hook up. I'm testing in DC. Wanted to know if it was a DC CDI or a ac CDI box thanks
I would have to look at a wiring diagram. but usually the two plug are dc and the fact that the single wire has voltage tells me its dc. most dc cdi need 10.5v to fire good strong batt cause startor can draw to much
