What did you use to listen to it? Were you running in ASIO and using uncompressed audio recordings? What headphones/earbuds/IEM's did you plug into them? Was your dongle plugged into a laptop? A PC? Do you have clean power coming in?

Great point out Keith, thanks brother!!! I’d heard of these before but never tried them. Then I bought a HIFIMAN Svanar wireless IEM and couldn’t get ANY of the tips to fit my ears. Tried some aftermarket flange tips, but none of them worked well. Watched your video and decided to buy the “Dunu’s”, XL size and lo and behold they are the ONLY tip that provides a seal and also sounds great!! Exactly like you said, just stuff em in your ears…. Thankfully I was forgiven but told of a "policy," on videoing in general. You and the other man who documented got lucky apparently. I'm not from sterling heights but people like that make me not want to come back. This was my first time back there in years. I avoid it as possible.

I finally landed on a KA3 to replace my antiquated ECHO Audio Indigo IOx (ExpressCard DAC), for my migration to Windows 11. I didn't fall too far into the "DAC Rabbit Hole", but after a hand-full, the KA3 is very suitable for what I've been doing. I will warn, you need to update the firmware, and use an Android device to turn the "Auto Mute" function OFF. This has been a flawless DAC for 2 months, and $60 USB.

It is not a heatsink. It is a radio wave shield. See it is soldered to the ground wire.

Symbio w tips are junk, the render hybrids are much better….but I don’t like those either lol, but they stay in a little better.

I’m not a fan of foam tips, they dull the treble and mush the bass. They are good once you cut them down though, so it’s even with the nozzle.

S and s are great on the z12, that’s what I’ve got on mine. Just because they are a shallower iem, so the dunu lets you get a deeper fit and it sounds great.

These are good, but I prefer spinfit w1 over these. Similar sound profile, but the w1 are more comfortable.

Price is good and fit my ears perfectly. Have many other tips the next that come close is the feulle latex and it's more expensive. Love it bought like 4 sets to use

Love these, have 4 sets of large and use it on every iem I own. Price is very good where I live is even cheaper and it fits my ear perfectly so all good.

That's not a 5 (five) that's a S (ess) for sport. It just revs the engine higher giving more power for acceleration, works well for engine braking too.

The reason the antenna is outside is because the metal becomes a faraday cage, and the Bluetooth wouldn't work. Also, the power supply is actually better than a torroloidal power supply because it is a switching power supply to clean up the noise floor. Which is why it feels so cheap. As for the Rohm chip that's just to protect the ic from dust and static charges

I tried these. Unfortunately even the large are too small for my ear canal and as such, can’t get a good seal. I need a 14mm and these only go up to 13mm. Too bad, cause I’ve heard great things about their sound enhancements.

The D300 is the (budget) DAC with the Rohm chipset.

That black power supply module which is marked as + - 12v at 1A is actually a deception. My DAC burned out, used the chance to do some autopsy. That module outputs -12v only as DC. The +12v is formed on the main PCB via the rectifier and nearby zener, you can see near the module. The zener diode is prone to early failure in their designs. This topology is used in most of SMSL DACs. Don't like it! Furthermore, there is no galvanic isolation between the digital and analog sections of the DAC, which is absolutely wrong, a must which is ignored by most of the budget DAC makers, especially by brands like SMSL and likes. That power supply module marked as 1A, can hardly handle 0.5A. Lots of deception and intentional designs flaws, together with poor component quality make the price of these china made brands / devices which have fluded the market unfortunately.

Yesterday I stabilized the rickety top cover a little. Basically only the top slot is in the front cover into which the top cover is inserted is too wide. I pushed a very thin sheet of cedar wood into the gap and simply snapped it off. E Voila: nothing rattles anymore. Simple, effective and cheap. Cedar Wood? Ask your local cigar Dealer.👍

Under the aluminum heatsink you speak of is the two clocks not the rohm chip. The rohm dac chip is located to the right side above the blue blocks. I was hoping to hear your take on the audio qualities of the unit more.

pretty standard layout for a dac at it's price point. it measures about as good as an su-8v2 which is positively ancient, probably get one for way less to boot.

I don;t think that;s the ROHM chip with the heatsink , the Rohm chip is the one next to the 2 rectangular capacitors

The only thing that does justice to the price is the sound. And just because I bought it used on Ebay for 215 euros, the casing is like a Paper for a Portion Fish and Chips. I'm a bit surprised that ROHM has their chip installed there.

What type is the USB input?

Was wondering if I was streaming music from my PC . Would it sound better if I ran a geselli J2 DAC into these klipsch speakers or went straight pc into the klipsch ?? Would there be an improvement in sound using the DAC as opposed to going staring in ?

I'm using 4.8l/100km (50 miles per gallon) actual highway driving. 5 spd with cruise control.
