How I Made Monsters for Inktober
มุมมอง 8582 หลายเดือนก่อน
I redesigned fairies for my worldbuilding project in Inktober of 2022. Here's an exerpt: Below the forest roofs of Animus, little light reaches your view from above. Lost from your path, you remember the lore shared with you before entering the wilderness... A merchant's plea, a traveler's warning: "Beware the forest folk, beware ...Stray not far from your trail, and be sure they're out there. ...

Leviathan looks like a digimon
I can see a comparison.
that's pretty cool, i like the pretty unnatural looking design of the mech, and to fuse magic into mecha is a fun concept
I'm glad you enjoyed 🙏
isnt that a golem
nvm
No offense, but I find your character design look like pokemon 🗿
Everyone's entitled to their opinion 👍
Link to your book? I tried searching for it on Amazon, but i didnt see anything resembling this
@Kumabones it's because it's still in development! I'll make an announcement as soon as it's available for purchase.
Mithra… just a point to make, this is your chief deity, yes? It’s very close if not the same name as the Hyborean goddess from Conan. Not saying don’t use it, just pointing out the similarities of the name.
Gotcha. And yes, Mithra is my project's chief deity of light. A fun fact: The name "Mithra" is actually derived from "Mitra", the name of an ancient Zoroastrian & Indo-Iranian deity. In ancient historical texts, "Mithra" was thought to be a diety of light and justice. My fiction borrows the name from this.
@@creativeanimus cool. I know Robert Howard pulled from many places in his time. Great minds thinking alike is always a good thing.
Is there elementals that are a combination of two different elements. For example, fire and water create an elemental that looks like a mixture of smoke or water and lightning, taking the form similar to an eel or stingray.
A great question. Elementals don't combine elements, but in rare instances there are specific spell techniques that do
"Seeven forces of nature", you say... even before having properly watched the video, the creature on the thumbnail makes me think of the Sun, but its halo reminds me of the eight-pointed star of arrows, a symbol of chaos (not just in Warhammer!) Here's a fun bit of knowledge: The sun has a somewhat archaic nickname in Dutch, "De Koperen Ploert", meaning "The Copper Cur". Another somewhat archaic Dutch word, for a mace, cudgel or otherwise horrible bludgeoning weapon, is "Ploertendoder", meaning "Cur Killer".
@Jurtheorc8117 this breakdown is flawless. I had no idea about the dutch and even the uncanny parallel with the eight-pointed star of arrows. Exceptional my friend :)
Oh my god, ANOTHER FAN OF Go Rin No Sho 😭😭😭❤️ instant sub
These are really cool, and I'm excited to see more.
Glad to hear you think so. More to come :)
This world you’re making is really fascinating! I’ve always found the fusion of technology and magic really a fun concept - is your book available to purchase yet? Apologies if I missed it in another video I just found your channel haha
Thanks Sebastian 🙏 Really! The book's not yet available for purchase, but I'll be sure to make an announcement here on the channel when it is :)
@@creativeanimus Well I eagerly await! I started following you on IG as well :)
This is so good! Now I'm curious about the heir and how do they get picked? What happens to an heir that is abusing the power given to them? I'm curious about your elemental entities as well!
Very glad to hear it 😁 The heirs are believed to be picked through a mysterious system of power not fully understood called "The Seed of Pathos". And heirs who abuse their power have their ultimate fate judged under that same system of power. It's a "with great power comes great responsibility" sort of relationship, both with their existence in the material world and the integrity of their soul :)
@ Thanks for answering my questions! I can’t wait for more!
7:49 Very, very cool Worldbuilding. I’m most curious to learn more about the Digitas elemental, and also the Void. Very intriguing stuff - excited to see what comes next!
Digitas was the first elemental I designed and also one of the earliest concept sketches ever made for Kenix. More to come in time @gonaye1. Digitas plays an interesting part in my project's main story
@Abundance100 🙏 Very true. If, (and it's a big if) you beat one, theoretically, if you also have the ability to harness magic too somehow then you could obtain the elemental's core to use as an item. If used correctly, that could make someone one of the strongest users of that magic art
Happy to see you posting again. Great video, great editing, great world building!
@YakOfArt thanks man! October was a wild month. I'm glad to hear your good words
Your quality of presentation has gone way up since then, dude, keep going! Also, these elemental concepts are awesome and I appreciate the background thought you share in creating them. It’s inspiring
That means a lot @goldenknight2169, really. It's been an ongoing journey. The concepts to the elementals were some of my favorites growing up and working on this so I'm glad you like the back story too :)
How does one beat the personification of a form of magic itself? I can only imagine the number of dead bodies that would be lying around when the MC has to run the ones. What exactly do you gain from confronting them?
Nah, I'd win
Sorry to ask but can all the 3 different groups of humans,.....procreate? If yes, then is one of three more dominant than the others in terms of dna and physical attributes? Do their offsprings get both parents abilities?
You're total fine. That's a great question and the answer is yes. Depending on the parents, offspring would have certain traits that are more dominant or recessive based on those factors ranging from appearance and powers. For example - A human who's a Novo and Man hybrid might appear with visible but less prominent Novo features but still retains the ability to access magic. Does that make sense?
@@creativeanimus a little bit, I guess. 😭 🤣
@@The_absolute_Freak haha. Your initial guesses are correct :)
I *really* like the robots design and the way the magic/machine system works. It feels alien and dangerous, completely inorganic and un-human in every way. The magic itself functions inorganically as well- its not a living system, transported into a machine, but looks like a static, nearly binary logic, folded and shaped by machinery into use. Very interesting.
@greyphilospher8638 I'm so glad you think so. That's exactly the intended purpose of how magiamachina leverages magic in my world, in a rather binary, cold and mechanical way. Well summarized my friend
How's the pen sensitivity?? I use clip studio and i want to draw using this laptop
I actually enjoyed the pen sensitivity. But, I also owned a Microsoft Surface book II. I did feel as if the handling on that pen was more preferred than this one
Awesome videos! Keep up the work!
More coming in a few days. Thanks man!
WorldBuilderTubers! Fuck yeah! So many fascinating worlds to discover.
Hey man, working on turning writing from a hobby into a job and I wish you all the luck!
Hey! I'm from one creative writer to another I'm wishing you the same, truly. Keep at at, and thanks :)
Amazing, are you still enjoying the zenbook duo?
Thanks @TheIReynolds, and I am :) However, I had to take it into the shop due to a technical issue. That's the only detractor of late
@@creativeanimus What happened to it? I just picked one up! no issues yet so far.
@TheIReynoldsI nice! Yeah, I don't know what triggered it, possibly loose wiring somewhere, but my 2nd display started to flicker on and off after around 9 months of use. Soon after, my OS wouldn't boot up at all and I had to take it into the shop
Yes please I would liek to learn about the giant sandcrabs
Bad audio. It's really difficult to understand what you're saying.
I'll keep that in mind for the next video 👍
The title made me think the video was going to be a discussion on how to make world building a fun process, or make a world that is fun for others to explore. This mostly feels like an explanation of your own setting, which is fine, but the title is somewhat misleading.
Hey NekuZX, thanks for your feedback✌️ I wanted this to be a lore & explanation for my worldbuilding process, so I went with "How I make Worldbuilding fun" (personally). I guess it can get a little subjective
I love your mech design!
So glad to hear that @Nitalukder2108 😉
Getting really heavy Wind Waker Tower of the Gods vibes from that thumbnail
I never played Wind waker! Curious to hear more about that map though
@creativeanimus if true that's incredible, considering it looks like a reconstructed re-envisioning.
@@mamasalmon8267 thanks man! I just checked it out and see what you mean
Glad I picked Novo because the style of this place hits just right and the water core artifact shaping the landscape of the region is such a creative piece of worldbuilding. The level of thematic relevance that has for Animus history and magic, must be astounding. Inspiring stuff!
So glad you like it :) Everything has its special place in designing those concepts. More's to come!
Ahmen Adad is such an awesome name
His name is a word play alluding to "praise given from the heavens"
It is a shame that the waterpunk tech was largely pushed to the wayside. Hopefully there are researchers or even a group of them studying the ruins to preserve the lessons encoded there. I am just a sucker for ancient advanced ruins.
You guessed correct ;) Though it's not as prevalent anymore, it's still utilized in some areas thanks to preservation efforts
@@creativeanimus hurray! I am rooting for those guys. Knowledge and understanding is important and when those are lost it hurts everyone. So preserving those lessons so that we may be worthy of them is an important and noble task.
@@andresmarrero8666 for sure :) Their efforts are included exactly for that purpose 😉
This is strait gas
Lovin’ this Waterpunk ruins with lil’ leafy dance birds? Keep it up!
Oh yes :) ✌️ Thanks disgruntledbob!
Subscribed! So much I could say but I will just do that for now. Amazing stuff 🔥
Gonaye welcome to the channel and I'm glad you like my work!
@@creativeanimus happy to be here! 🔥👍🏽🔥
What happened to those flying fish?
Thisorthat, change happened 🙃 I just kept 1 instead of 2! To me it looked less busy that way
You've got some really cool creatures. What are your thoughts on transportation, and the orientation of sapient species towards using animals to drive their unique vehicles?
Thanks Sethreyes :) In the past, animals were used to carry carts and wagons, however in the modern timeline of my world, there are hover vehicles used mostly to get around in cities. So it really just depends on which moment in history!
Subscribed! These concepts are really interesting!
Glad you liked them! And welcome to the channel!
Background music is so loud that it makes listening to your voice difficult
Yeah,
Got it. I'll tweak it in the next video then
Js commwnting cuz I wanna give you more engagement
Much love @Eggsbeneduct

Before watching: Did _nobody_ get the complete constructs compendium?
Hmm, I don't think so :)
no line test....
Unfortunately not this time
@@creativeanimus did you try ? jitter is here ?
@@Origam-I I'm actually not familiar with it
@@creativeanimus well , if you try any of it, thx in advance for letting me know the result.
@@Origam-I sure thing. Let me know here if you want to give a brief explanation about what "jitter is here" does!
I love the Mobyshrubs 💕 they're very endearing lil guys!
Glad you think the same Inastaria5075 ;)
This video is SO GOOD! It's cool to learn how deep the world-building is. The visuals are also very inspiring!
So glad to hear it from you man! It gets pretty deep :)
