Spring Madness Shakespearer Raceway. Morris Minor V8 Runs
Me and mates built one sometime ago. It was a sod to stop flexing. Tramp, roll bars you name it.. In the end we just had the body, the rest was Vauxhall. Still, flexed.. too much umph realy so steady does it mate.
Hi New sub.. Looking forward to this build...GN
Been there, some new panels fit better than others I’m sure you’ll get the better of it
Atleast the welding will be proper ay? Wire wheels, sanding and filler! 🤣 Oh ive got motivation news too! Check your texts
have you uploaded footage of it running yet?
@@justice4g only a little clip in one of the last videos. We did get some GoPro footage of racing but yet to edit it, let alone work out how to make it in to a video 😂
I’ve been wanting one of these since I was young.im now 52 , I’m an engineer and really need a list of front rear drive train. I’m thinking rover v8 witch gear box jag irs. Mk1 escort front end please help David. Many thanks Dj
@@Damush1 if it’s a rover then an LT77 gear box is a good option. If you check out my other videos you’ll see the car has changed a lot, and I talk more about the new running gear. Thanks 🙂
have a 1951 2door this is fun watching
Tiny Oldsmobile V8
Good to see it on the road, but I think I'd move your fuse box away from the petrol tank area? 😊
2 years well spent ❤. Have fun @ wheelzday and can't wait for may.
Great job! Takes me back to 1982 hen i stuffed an Alpha Romeo 1600 GT junior twin cam in my moggy van . used the alpha back axle and marina front legs so had servo discs all round..went ike a scolded cat and stopped like you threw an anchor out the back and the twin webbers just made it sound freekin awesome..Enjoy your creation 🙂
You do lovely work , impressive problem solving ! I'm sure it will be amazing ! I recall a guy DECADES ago putting a small Ford SIDEVALVE V8 from a Simca Vedette into a Morry . What with the additional weight and the Sidevalve's lack of torque , the ultimate performance was unimpressive although it sounded good .
Nice Morris Minor I’m putting a V-8 mine right now. I did a video YT video on it last week. Not sure if you saw it but I’m getting there. Hope to have it up and on the road here in the next few months. I subscribed to your channel! Thanks Greg
I sell subscribers
So good to see it moving ❤
Cool project I am also building a Minor with turbocharged mx5 running gear. Is this just for drag racing or do you use it on the road as well?
Fantastic car. Brilliant, I love Morris minors. Great job on this. It’s going to be amazing!👍🇬🇧
Hi,I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that your oil cooler pipes shouldn’t come out the bottom, the feed should enter at top,or u get air trapped, maybe worth checking.Great progress, looking forward to the fire up
Oh that’s a good point! I hadn’t thought of that! I did pre fill the cooler (lead to a fast fitting I can’t tell you) But the cooler is lower than the trans so hopefully it won’t be an issue, I’ll look in to it! Thank you for the suggestion.
Subtle Man 😂👍👍👍😎😎😎
Sadly the video quality is not good? 😮
Ah yeah I just watch it back. Problem is I’m just recording these off my phone, and it’s getting on a bit. I’ll see what I can do. 🤙
So is this built for the street? If so are you planning to put it through the Biva test?
Legend 😂 we knew the body would take some knocks I'll have it patched up n pretty in no time ❤
Nice to see a bit more progress, think the short dip stick sounds the way to go. When’s the engine coming back for fitting?
❤ 3:51
Good to see u back on the Moggy, looking forward to your new engine going in,I always use small amount of liquid ptfe on all my brake lines, threads and around the flare
Maybe that’s what I’ll try. I need more time to investigate. Thanks for the idea!
Awesome car mate x glad to see your making progress again, will be out for the engine rebuild. ❤
My dad had a 51 in the early 60s.Ocaasionally he had to crank it over by hand.
GREAT WORK DAVID!!💥🙌💪 AUSTRALIA!🤍💙❤👊
19 sec 1/4 pretty fast! Well compared to my sidevalve one
A brilliant and well finished project
More like morris major
Hi ,just discovered your build, nice to find another crazy Moggy builder, looking forward to hearing it run,she soo close🎉🎉
That thing next too you was FAST 😮
'Promo SM'
Your doing well bruv keep up the good work
Isn't that Morris "A series" another Morris Minor and the A series refers to the Austin A series engine that BMC Minors were fitted with?
Can't wait to start working on it again
Had a '55 Morris Minor and Buick V6 back in early 1960's but just didn't have the time or money to put them together...
Cracking weekend X amazing car, we will get back to it soon enough ❤
love the look of these things, it's kinda weird how just the stance and wheels can transform them.
❤
Cool hot rod man loving it you thought about coupeing the body reminds me of those streetmachine mags i used to drool over in the 80s rock on.hi from 🇳🇿
Looks bang tidy
Very nice.
'PromoSM' 😣
Nice piece of project! Mate give me a shout I can come to give you a hand! I could pick some skills from you as well ;)
looks so much better than american hot rods
David, the TH350 gearbox "wing" that pokes into the footwell can be cut off this will help with space around your feet and be a much better job, a few questions if you don't mind - is this intended to go on the road? and if so have you considered the BIVA/SVA stuff? if you are building it to race only is built to current RAC/MSA regs, (chassis tag/fuel line regs etc) I don't want to sound like a kill joy but would hate for you to do things twice. On the youtube channel RetroPower have just completed a build on one very special Moggy, may be worth a look. I like the chassis, could you give me a ball park of the chassis cost i.e. £10k-£20k, £20k-£30k or more.
Thanks for that information! I will look at removing those “wings”! It might go back on the road, and I will follow the rules when that time comes, it has to have an MOT already as it use to have a 3.5 rover in it on a modified chassis so it couldn’t pass for that exemption. I do intend to race it, and plan to get the chassis tagged. I have read though the rules and am aware that the fuel line running inside won’t pass, but have a plan to sort that. The chassis was built by Bennett Built Motorsport, for a similar rolling chassis with tin work, round 12k. Thanks for your comment buddy.
Are you an electrician by any chance? great build, the chassis's interesting.
No mate! Just a humble welder for a hydraulics company. All self thought. I started out working with young people in care. 🤙
Thanks for the update. It will be great to see it "turn a wheel"!
Thanks buddy!
