mad build, I was hoping it'd be something I could duplicate but no chance.. if you didn't have to cut into the firewall do you think the original chassis would handle a few hundred hp?
Oh definitely not! I had the chassis built for me. But before I cut the car up, it use to run a Rover V8 and they use to fit in front of the fire wall. But still on a made chassis, not a very clever chassis, but still needed it.
David, the TH350 gearbox "wing" that pokes into the footwell can be cut off this will help with space around your feet and be a much better job, a few questions if you don't mind - is this intended to go on the road? and if so have you considered the BIVA/SVA stuff? if you are building it to race only is built to current RAC/MSA regs, (chassis tag/fuel line regs etc) I don't want to sound like a kill joy but would hate for you to do things twice. On the youtube channel RetroPower have just completed a build on one very special Moggy, may be worth a look. I like the chassis, could you give me a ball park of the chassis cost i.e. £10k-£20k, £20k-£30k or more.
Thanks for that information! I will look at removing those “wings”! It might go back on the road, and I will follow the rules when that time comes, it has to have an MOT already as it use to have a 3.5 rover in it on a modified chassis so it couldn’t pass for that exemption. I do intend to race it, and plan to get the chassis tagged. I have read though the rules and am aware that the fuel line running inside won’t pass, but have a plan to sort that. The chassis was built by Bennett Built Motorsport, for a similar rolling chassis with tin work, round 12k. Thanks for your comment buddy.
Thanks for the update. It will be great to see it "turn a wheel"!
Thanks buddy!
Quite a project! Enjoyed the pedal action
Thanks!
I’m in love with these pedals 😂
