In what regards? From my brief experience in zone 7 overall it seems like a good growing zone overall because you are able to growing leafy greens pretty much year’s round, you get enough cold hours for flowers and fruit trees. The only issue I really had was insect pressure.

So sorry to just now be responding. We were blessed with quite lovely weather overall. We only ever had spurts of rain showers. In total we were in Iceland for 6 days at the end of May and into the start of June. I wish you safe and hopefully dry travels. It was amazing! I would absolutely love to go back because it still didn’t seem like long enough to explore everything we wanted to. We have a decent balance but there are certainly seasons of 60-80+ hour work weeks. It always looks better than it probably is truthfully but I hope we can all strike a good balance 💕

We actually have booked an excursion that was a local beer tasting and cruise into downtown to avoid the disembarkation wait to get a bus and to see more of the area. We did take the shuttle back though and that wait wasn’t too bad maybe ~15 minutes. I hope this helps some and if you are going, I hope you have an amazing trip!

Also for reference with the promotions they were running we paid 59 for one person and 109 for the other. It is rather expensive, but we had a different excursion booked that got cancelled the day prior so this was more of a last minute decision to make the most of our time in the port.

I would say yes you could depending on how many acres you want. We bought outside of Louisville, Kentucky and a person that bought off the larger property that we also bought from I believe bought around 10 acres for around 100k from what they’ve told us. Our property is also within about an hour of several larger cities which makes the prices higher unfortunately. If you were willing to go a litter farther away from a major city then yes you could purchase significantly more acreage for the same price. There we several 30-50 acres farms in between Elizabethtown to Bowling Green Kentucky for around that price range. I hope and pray your family is able to get a farm of your own 💕

We used to live in south Florida, and now we live in Massachusetts, about 30 minutes northwest of Boston. We are not bound to New England, and we are open finding something similar to your land. I once drove through North and South Carolina and it was beautiful, I am not familiar with Kentucky, but your farm looks like Switzerland or Norway, just beautiful. God Bless the both of you.

If you aren’t bound to anywhere in particular then thankfully your options will be much better! I’ve have seen amazing farms for a steal depending on how far away from a larger city you are willing/able to live. I do hope you find what you are looking for in the near future!

According to the tax advisors our realtor consulted with since it’s for a work-related move then we may be excluded from paying capital gains. Additionally for a married the couple I believe the IRS exclusion for a married couple is $500k. In which case, there would have to be more than $500k in gains in total gains from homes you’ve sold as it was explained to us. It’s also assuming that the home had gains in that short of an amount of time (1 year). I hope this possibly helped. I am not an accountant or financial advisor in any capacity at all, just relating on what we have been told and explained. I hope this helps because I know how hard it is to live somewhere you don’t love 💕

Thankfully the way our garden is oriented with the sun this isn’t an issue we will have to worry about! If anything the small forest of pines behind the fruit tree cast the biggest shadow in the mornings. In our first home we had part of our garden on a hill and had began building terraces into the hillside for easier gardening.

@@MadisonEran Oh that's good! My parents got apple trees and they eventually became crab-apple trees. I was told once that you needed to show a certain level of care for apple trees because almost all of them are grafts and those grafts "go away" as those branches break off and the apple tree grows new ones. Did you guys have a plan for your apple trees?
