Couldn’t handle the negatives: below street entry, dampness and mold risk, flooding potential at the entry, and lots of wallpaper that needs to be removed.

I wish I could buy this place just so I can redecorate. The history and heart has been ripped out and replaced with superficial, modern, cheap looking, tasteless muck. I’m frankly disgusted.

Lovely location and a lovely family home - so welcoming and Sooooooo much storage. A rarity these days.

Old kitchen and servant day quarters turned into a lovely flat

It may be dated but its been well taken care of. I wouldnt change much. Maybe some wall paint colors. I would keep the kitchen and all the fireplaces and room doors are awesome. I think that gives it all its charm. I hate that modern crap, all that open floor plan. I think this house is absolutely lovely. But Im sure someone bought it and did something terrible to it.

Thats the busiest road in and out of edinburgh. It takes you to the Forth Road Bridge. I lived one street up berween this St and Geroge St. Theres no food shops etc nearby and no parking unless you want to pay a massive yearly fee.

Looks like it hasn’t been touched since the 1950s. Garden is lovely but the house would need an awful lot of work.

For a basement flat in downtown Edinburgh, not bad, but it looks like they just hung out at Ikea all weekend for the interior furnishings

Scraping off all that ugly wallpaper is a HUGE job. If you have never done this before trust me

Much larger rooms than I expected for a basement flat but I'd still live there in a heartbeat - although I'd prefer the upper floor for the sense of light and views - the upside of this one is the utterly charming garden area. Just lovely.

Wow that was a travel back in time! Big renovation needed to open up & update the interior. The back garden is gorgeous but the asphalt front is just horrible.

Kitchen is plenty big enough for me!

£235,000 in October 2020, and the refrigerator is in an entirely different room across the living room/dining room. Not very convenient.

£470,000 and the bedrooms are next to the lift. Have you ever been in a hotel where your room was by the lift? Sad. Nice place, otherwise. Not paying close to half a million to listen to that noise all hours of the day/night. Love the kitchen/living room and the area, but...nope.

I’d buy it , just the right size with so much character for a couple, retired now.

The rooms are all so tiny. I could never get use to that. I thought the garden was beautiful, and then I realized the whole of Scotland can look down into it. For sure I couldn’t live with the lack of privacy. It would make a great weekend rental, but not a permanent home. I’m 78, a widow and live alone; I would suffocate in that house, quaint though it may be.

Modern but gorgeous. You can barely hear the traffic when inside and I’m sure it’s even better with the front door closed. I love the sounds o the city. Thank you.

Lovely front door knob. I think you should wear shoe covers or remove your shoes when you go in. Shoe covers are not expensive. Such a beautiful home with a lovely garden. Thank you.

I can't see how anyone would be happy in a house like this--the feng shui is so horrible with the bathroom being a straight shot right from the front door, not to mention the dumpster right in front. That's a hard no.

A fine nice apartment/flat which I imagine has long been sold. The only problem I have is with the kitchen, which is too small, is also far from the dining room. A bit if a poor design there. Otherwise, not bad at all.

I wish my windows were as clean as these.

Where is the screens in the windows? If you open up the windows without screens all the bugs will come in of course I live in America and I know in Europe, especially in Britain. They don’t have very good building codes, but really no screens in the windows.

Who decorated this home? It's a beautiful house but the decor is a hot mess...and completely tasteless. Nothing is remotely cohesive.
