Pokémon Gen 3 Battery: How to ACTUALLY Fix It

Pokémon Gen 3 Battery: How to ACTUALLY Fix It
would setting the time again do anything with the flash card or not? since you can set it again after the initial one, or is that more just that days time and it doesn't do anything to the year etc?
You don't need to clone a pokemon to clone an item. You can withdraw the items directly from the pokemon en masse and clear out entire boxes, getting 30 a box in one clone glitch. And you really don't need a working battery for most things in emerald. The only 2 major things are secret base battle cooldowns and secret base planks for crossing holes, which come from a random postgame event that has a 1% chance of proccing after any battle... but then waits 24 hours after the proc to actually appear. Thankfully the former can be solved by re-mixing records, though you can't "collect" secret bases by restarting one cart over and over (say, a fake one) and making a base and mixing records each time. Not without making their trainer battles one time fights considering they make you save. The latter can be solved with the same setup by using the "restartable" cartridge to reset the intro sequence for a trainer id ending in 4 or 5, getting the plank yourself, giving it to the "trader" npc in mauville, then mixing records with the "important save file" cart to send the trader over.
Nah I’m offended the way you said Toy Dream was trash. That’s the best MP5 board.
I will ask again because I didnt have any answers. I have a dry battery in my game and I am in front or rayquaza (ruby/sapphire version). I change the battery and now the clock is fine so the CURRENT TIME is cured (but still the passage of time its not, berries etc.) and I am bored to fix it by resetting the game or by the extra flash card steps. Can I find shiny rayquaza or any shiny legendary now that my CURRENT TIME is cured? or i must have fix also the PASSAGE OF TIME in order to be sure that the shiny frames will be renewed at each soft rest??? (I want to find shiny without rng abuse)
A nice normal room. Love it!!!
pokemon in general have skyrockted cards and others. i will keep buying only originals an CIB i don like emulators sorry i want them.
I'm not a youtuber, but a hyper adhd pokemon nerd with a masters in engineering and an immeasurable stubbornness to ask the questions "wait why does that work?". Your video was the perfect foundation for me to repeat your experiments to try and both repeat the reaults, and generalize the findings here. The goal being to determine a set of logical rules that will apply to anyone's given situation to apply a solution or understanding of how you got there. My personal goal is to be able to hot swap saves between an EZ flash and gba cart without rtc issies. Both to preserve these games, protect my carts, play without cheats, but also I can't accept not fully understanding a thing integral to the game I love (because I have a problem) After no lifing gen 3 games, learning about rtc and their roles circuts, and about 12 failed experiments over 2 months. I think I've finally determined a fundamental rule set to diagnose the issue based on the symptoms people experience in their game, then apply the appropriate solution. I think this would solve your sapphire not responding properly if I knew a few more details. I'd love to work with you to get a final version of this video together. The fabeled part 3 (or whichever). Regardless, this video is awesome, you're awesome, game freak is cringe, and pokemon has me until the day I die. Thank you!
For sound reduction, just add mass to the wall. Like a weighted blanket or something with velcro.? Like where that wall with a direct window into ur game room add one weighted blanket there and it greats more seperation in the room. And probably more cozy but idk. Definetly fill in the holes in the door especially if u dont care about fresh air. Like a door sweep and some fill for the holes around the door
Replace that tv with a free plasma on marketplace. Will do wonders. Much better contrast, motionclarity, colour vibrancy. Its the the most crt like tv. And Itll be a pleasure for the eyes. Just make sure to get a fhd and relatively good model. So try find a panasonic or pioneer plasma for free. Would be a freaking awesome upgrade
great video!
It's always fascinating to see the stark contrast of the "futuristic game room" to literally a regular room with games, haha. I tend to enjoy the latter more because it feels less homogenized. Personally, I'm satisfied with how my game room is right now, but only when I became an adult did I realize how important shelves are. Gotta store my crap somewhere other than the floor. ALSO **RED ALERT** CLUB PENGUIN PLUSH SPOTTED AT 11:41
Koopa Seaside Soirée from what I tell is terrible. It makes you need to pay the stupid koopa money, and then when the kabana falls, you need to pay to rebuild. This is a board that make me feel bad for the player.
I don't know if you're a trans guy or not (it would be really cool) but either way i really love your voice and content :3

I'm so confused the very first thing i did after replacing my battery on emerald was grow berries, and it worked succesfully, then after using epilogue playback, nothing worked. I hope this video fixes my issue
For someone who got a Pokemon Ruby for my wife as a gift that she’s never played before can all I do is replace the battery and reset all save data and berries and time based events will work still? I’m not trying to save old backups so does this whole RTC manipulation apply to my situation?🙃Your video is great it’s just information overload when I just want to know yea or no if the game will work and pass time properly if I change the battery and restart fresh save file.
Hello, silly question. I have a GB operator and my Emerald version no longer wants to grow berries or trigger events such as the berry master, outbreaks, and the lilycove department store sale. However I can still get the lottery ticket, and the lady that gives berries depending on the phrase you give her. So in the video you reset your RTC for initial time and time elapsed in PKHeX. This should fix my issue right? I apologize for the uncertainty, I just want to grind out my national living dex, my legendary shiny hunts, BF and contests while trying to be as authentic as possible. Thank you for the help!
The berries are growing again!!!! Thank you so much for this vídeo ⭐
This helps me out so so much😊
Been playing MGS3 50hz on android with NetherSX2 on my motorola edge 21. This about the third time I've attempted beating this game in the past 9 years on a new save again. I'm further than ever in it, it's definitely one of those games I would have bought in high school had I been in a well off family.
I only really play what peaks my interest. I don’t really care to play the latest trendy game unless it looks interesting. At the end of the day it’s just entertainment and if it’s not entertaining then why force yourself play it unless you already spent the money.
I’m going back to my classic gameboy advance and playing my beloved games - great video I totally agree with you
I do collect stuff (figures or even cards) but games... Nowadays i just pirate. Platforms like 3DS basically opening hundreds of amazing games to play. For newer - buying couple of them on discount if they are super good won't hurt. But yeah the majority of new generation games are not worth buying.
I'm in the headspace of feeling I need to slow down as well. Back in May and onwards into June, I platinumed two massive games back-to-back: Granblue Fantasy Relink and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Both of these games were honestly a _nightmare_ to try and get the platinum trophy in. Both required insane, maddening grinds. ... and at the end of it all, I felt so burnt out. I wasn't having fun at all. It all felt like a second job - a list of grinding chores to complete. And ultimately, all for what? For a little prestige? I know you're speaking from a Nintendo perspective and I'm coming in from a Playstation perspective, but still... I agree: Regardless of platform, we need to slow down. Gaming needs to be fun. Juggling a huge amount of titles or grinding out too many achievements can suck the life out of us. We don't need to play the latest and greatest thing. We can slow down, kick back, and revisit a title that made us happy. I'd love to revisit and focus on Banjo-Tooie. Everyone's raving about Metaphor Refantazio or Sparking Zero and I'd honestly rather just go wander around the Isle 'O Hags with Banjo.
So basically you’re saying that if you replace the battery you can/will lose your save file?
Time will just be broken till you make a new one.
I have a similar problem too. I bought a lot of games, probably too many to play them all. Digitally I own more than a thousand unfinished games. I felt guilty to hoard all of them, curiosity of what there are, and that naggy FOMO feeling of being Not a Real Gamer. I fought this feeling by slowing down my buying habbits and speeding up my "beating the backlog" process. But even at full speed I finish\drop only a 120 games per year. So it's about 10 more years in that speed. It's just tiring. And I would be playing a decade old games or even older. Old games doesn't scare me, and playing for 10 years is a good future, nothing wrong with it. But I feel like I'm trying to catch up, beat something, win or overcome. Games are not made for this, they are not about the result. It's about leisure time, enjoying yourself or researching. What's done is done. You (and me) can slow down. If a game is worthy your attention then there will be some time for it. Years later or whatever. And another bright thought here - real gem games are good even decades after their release, they can bring you same level of joy
This is why short games are great! Thunder ray is basically modern day punch out, costs £5 and is 3 hours long tops. That's perfect! I find it hard to mentally commit to games now because of option paralysis. I used to 100% games and get platinum trophies bc i needed to get the most out of my games whereas i don't need to do that as well.
Guess what, these are all self created problems, and the solution is to ignore everyone's bullshit and vying for your attention, and go do whatever you want to do.
Modded V1 switch goes brrrr
I have an issue with my Pokémon Sapphire copy that didn't happen with Ruby or Emerald. I have a DS flashcard with RTCread, and I have adjusted the RTC as usual. What is happening is essentially that the game recognizes the battery and assumes the RTC works, BUT the time doesn't move as by itself (not even by starting a new save file). Time does pass but only if you adjust it manually with the RTCread. Any suggestions of which problem I may have in this situation? Thanks in advance. P.S.: I posted this comment on the first video without realizing there was a more recent video about the same topic. Apologies.
Its not just cost. It's game developers not respecting player time. There was this huge drive over the past 20 years to create games with massive content. Players were constantly complaining about the amount of content a game had. However, the problem is the players doing this complaining are the ones who have time to sit around and complain on forums; no lifers. It was survivorship bias causing the people with an excess of free time to dictate to the industry they want their time used up. The second problem was trying to fit in all this "content" into a time frame of deadlines demanded by a greedy game publishing industry. This drove developers to continually put in grind mechanics, time gating mechanics, and other complete time wasters. With these mechanics Developers can give a longer estimated to complete game time with not adding in actual content allowing them to meet insane deadlines for releases. So it's not just you, it's an industry that is purposely selling you games that waste your time, not allowing you to complete a game's actual content in a reasonable amount of time, while also releasing games faster and faster and a small percentage of gamers who have no life screaming MORE MORE MORE!
Nice vid... I have still not played half my library so I stopped playing / buying new games
1:53 skip Kingdom Hearts, it’s very, very overrated. I’ve skipped every Pikmin. Fire Emblem is for those that enjoy that genre, the story usually isn’t mind blowing anyways.
I somehow accumulated 200 Switch games. The most I owned for any other console was 30-40. What have I done.
Thank you for this video.
I feel for you and I don't really have any good advice as it can just take time to have a real perspective shift. I still get FOMO on some things, but I suppose something that has helped me not feel like I need to buy every new release is to stay away from some gaming news. I might follow the news on one or two games at a time, but that'll be it. That being said it is the holiday season and I am finding it real hard to avoid everything with everything coming out at once.
i wish used switch games got more then $5-$10 off at gamestop or id get more😭😭😭 theres multiple switch games i want to play and also for collecting cause nintendo hates emulators and especially old pokemon games just get more expensive. and id love my son to enjoy the games i did while he was a baby
Honestly, I've gone back to my 3ds and played the games my dad couldn't afford for dirt cheap now and going back to games I never finished on my other consoles. It's been awesome ^_^
Switch is expensive. Move to pc and profit.
i wish pokemon and mario would be on steam so bad
never buy games in bulk, easy as that, and always, I mean always get the physical version of the game, never digital. this forces you to play the game at least, and then force yourself to finish that one game you bought first, and promise yourself to not buy a new game before it's finished, then you won't face such issues
Buying new unfinished beta "AAA" games at full prices is folly. Buying older games for $5-20 on Steam sales is the way.
The focus on DLC and monetization beyond the initial purchase, along side the need for more detailed graphics with each passing year is ruining the industry. We peaked at Gen 6. Just the right amount of detail, with just the tiniest of cosmetic dlc (which was often free or dirt cheap) and your games were never larger than 20gb. Now it's $70 for the "base" game, 20-50 for the canonical ending, 10 for each "bonus " character, another 20-30 for a game mode that was in the previous game in the series but cut off the current game to sell separately. You're paying more for what is ultimately less product than you were given for the same price just 10 years prior. It's insulting. And the amount of people who spend money on these scams make it so it's never gonna get better.
FOMO is a curse i'm strugling with... there's like 30 games I 'need' to play.... and already have 10 games I bought and didn't have time to play
I just pirate, emulate, buy old games, buy indie games. I also tend to play short games.
"multi-gigabyte" What year is it?‽ Lol
