Gyruda player here. The last time I won, I won with Thoracle without any Consultation or Pact with 26 devotion. If you're able to get a clone that breaks the legend rule like Spark Double or Sakashima the Imposter and continue the clone train, you're able to stack up devotion with everything having Gyruda's CMC. It's a memey deck, but I've been playing it for months and I can't get enough of it

I feel like if your dropping the ad naus then u should be playing peer especially if your argument is I want to run more 4 drops and don't want to telegraph

In round 5, the stack battle for the grand abolisher was actually planned by the three people trying to stop the win attempt. It was cast using cavern of souls, so the only spell able to counter the abolisher was the MBT, but no three spells had been cast by a single opponent. So droopy threw three counters at the abolisher to turn on MBT. And because consecrated sphinx is a busted card, I (kinnan player) had like 7 counters in hand to stop the win. That was a wild game

This commentary was not great. The constant criticism of the players was pretty off putting. I get we’re all striving for the most optimal plays, but let’s give these players some credit for making top 4 and not criticizing them like they are complete idiots, they obviously are good at cEDH to get to this spot.

There are alot of combos and a lot of the pieces are vaguely interchangeable, tatyova combos are cool.

The fact that Sean talks at the end about the integrity of the tournament and that their was no cheating is saddening. As a Korvold player I was hyped for this new important top since unrivaled but this made me quit for a week instead.

The thing that changed is new players. Threat assessment and mulligans are easily the most difficult part of cEDH. It much easier to play a Rhystic Study then to sniff out counter magic for your adnaus then find a winning line. When u play more and more this pivot style becomes more natural. But it takes time. Imagine a scenario that u give a new player seat 3 ad naus, 5 treasures and 30 life. There playing a generic BlueFarm. That new player is more likely to fail that naus and kill themselves then the are to win. Now give that player the One Ring in the same turn. Cast the Ring. Leave a treasure. Draw a card. Pass. Then just wait. Counter threats on the stack. Wait More. Cast a tutor. Wait more. Draw more.

Unfortunate that this person won any events at all. Considering the new evidence that has cropped up, their actions should have some serious ramifications for their participation in any future tournament with prizes on the line.

you guys do you, But if you are looking for feed back. I feel there was a LOT of time spent on talking about what one of you not saying and pressing minor points about definition and ranking rather than keeping the focus of your comments on the effect the subject card on a given deck/meta/format. And the chatting about what your trying to say and what "your not saying isn't good" is not as interesting for the viewer.

Card draw is stronger than mana. Rhystic is stronger than dockside. Dockside makes mana but you have to have something to do with it. Rhystic gets you everything you need.

Dude, seriously, saw in half is MESSED UP in Korvold. I also always got push back on lightning bolt (played it anyway) and fatal push (let people talk me off it but thanks to you I’m running it again) Saw in half is the best card we got for Korvold since..🤔.. dude.. ever lol. What was bigger than that since we have been a real deck? Maybe nothing? I don’t play oppo but I am 100% w you on Mayhem devil which I also used to get push back on but that card is so amazing for us. Saw in half man, that unlocked so much for us.

Temur sabertooth doesn’t need 8 it requires 4 treasures. Or if you mean to cast the temur as well then you have to spend another 4 to cast the technomancer as well. And you don’t need a sac outlet And you can find it w all your creature tutors including summoners pact. And if you play EWit and/or recruiter it can bounce those. And it can reset a dual caster mage if you had to use it as interaction. I could not believe it when it got cut from most decks way back in the day (about the time most of us cut foodchain) and I can’t believe people play technomancer so much more often than temur now. I played them both I played neither and I am a pretty big believer in just the one Temur sabertooth now. I don’t like the 3 card combo thing at all and I do like being able to play summoners pact cause it’s busted. Bring back the Temur! 🖖namaste fellow Dargon Stan Comgrats

Dockside def needs to be checked its a great card but ive witnessed pods where rhystic did nothing in comparsion to dockside.. it warps the format

Talion is better then rhystic longer the games goes. And much better then one ring. As it draws more cards early game where one ring draws just a few. So you can create an overwelming board. Also in the past weeks there were numerous times I had choice one ring or talion... every time talion was cast, and didn't even bother casting the ring in thoes games.
