Why don´t you show how to enable it in mission editor?
Next video I do in Mission Editor, I'll be sure and add that in. This video is just for learning how to use them in multiplayer servers for flying, not for building out the mission. If you are just needing to know for ME... when you select an airbase to make it Red/Blue/Neutral, click "Full Info" to show the resources available at the airbase you are configuring. On the left side of that sidebar, there is a check box for both "Dynamic Slots" and "Allow Hot Starts"... just check the appropriate boxes.
Is there a quick way to delete or re-assign a mark point ? Excellent video looking forward to more of these !
Glad you liked the video! Unfortunately, Markpoints cannot be deleted once they are created, but if you get to Markpoint "Y" they start over again and rewrite the old ones. Mark "Z" is always the last place you targeted and used a weapon on. That comes in handy if you miis or don't kill a target and need to come back to it quickly. Just go to Mark Z and your back on it with very little effort. Happy Hunting!

Nice work WP as a FNG to your Chanel & the A10C I would like to hear more call outs on what Hotas button presses you are using to manipulate sensors. I know it’s second nature to you veterans but it’s not automatic for me yet. I know you may risk boring some and complicate the video but just looking for a good balance here. Keep up the good work!!
Duly noted. In many of the more basic tutorials on weapons and more basic manipulation of the sensors, as well as the cold start videos, I try to reference all the HOTAS Button presses. This video is more of a "working/base knowledge' video on the TAD to help with upcoming tutorial(s) on the SADL System. There's always a welcome mat out at my Discord, where myself and others are always willing to help new people learn. Hope to see you there!

I agree, depends on the situation which is the better option.
If you are lucky, ED will change the Cockpit Windshield to Clear instead of that badly scratched look that they just eliminated in the F-5E ... finally.
I'm running a mod to get the yellow tint off the front glass, and I think there is one for the canopy scratches somewhere. I would guess that's a pretty low priority for ED right now.
When the summer sale had the A10C II on sale for $40 I just had to get it. I loved the A10A and thought "how much different can it really be?' lol This is by far the most complicated, advanced module you can get in DCS. If you're just getting into DCS, I would hold off on getting this. You can spend 4 hours a day just learning the basics. Especially when you get into the FMC (flight management computer) aspect and really drill down to the internal setups...overwhelming just doesn't describe it. If there was ever a study level sim, this is it. Very rewarding and a ton of fun once you get it under your fingers. Just get used to the phrases China Hat, Boat Switch, Castle Switch and long/short. Everything revolves around those.
It is a complex module for sure, and does take some time and a lot of studying to learn. The best advice I can give, is to start in small bites, not a full plate at first. Get comfortable flying around and doing some basic navigating while learning each of the weapons. That will help "tie things together" with the sensors and how to manipulate them, as there are many ways to interact with them. Hold off on taking a deep dive into the CDU, and when you do, you'll find that it is quite multi-layered, and a bit "deep". The main thing is to fly, and have fun crushing the enemy with whatever weapons you've learned... but fly and have fun. This is a big development. DCS looks way too 'clean' all the time - especially whilst simulating war zones - they'd be saturated with not only weather, but smoke, contrails and other airborne debris. This looks really good!
I completely agree! While I think there is still work to be done on the textures of the fog, the overall appearance is great! Another area where I would like to see improvements are in "weathering" of buildings and vehicles, as well as dirt and grime on vehicles. The buildings may be a bit more of a challenge, but reskinning the vehicles with dirty/worn paint jobs should be fairly easy to do.

I'll make it 10,000 ft thick so it hides the mountains entirely! Then we race from point "A" to point "B" in Snowplow mode! 😂
It is incredibly disappointing they didn’t change how the fog system works. The flat level on top is really bad looking as you pass through that elevation. The lighting aspect of it is great, but releasing it with this same mechanic as the old fog was a mistake imo. I just hope it’s not years before they finish it to a point you can localize the fog.
If you manual you can set it up to come and go over a period of time.

Why is it wrong for the fog to be flat on top. It should act as groundmist in my opinion. Normally mist is apearing below a dewpoint temp..with allmost no wind an no turbulence, so... a flat layer. Am i wrong ?
No you are correct. Fog in the real world is flat topped.
As I stated in the video, "some" fog is perfectly flat on top. However, most fog, especially in mountain valleys is far from flat. I'm not bashing the new fog at all, in fact it looks great, but fog from above commonly has a terrain of it's own, much like the surfaces below it.

The biggest issue IMO is that if you want fog at a higher elevation, you cover the whole map in fog if it's lower. I'm guessing they may set up "fog zones"?

So far the new effect is extremely realistic and looks great! Take a look at the latest video I posted that shows the thick low fog in the South Atlantic map, it’s stunning!! So Im liking it!
Agreed. I'll be putting up a video later on how to create that thick fog, and how to use the ground elevation to best utilize it. It's really mind blowing! It turns out what I had created here was more of a morning haze (quite realistic at that) rather than that amazing dense fog,

@@ricbish That's like we discovered that wind affects the range of mavericks! It's interesting finding all the cool things that are below the surface in DCS!

@@ricbish With a 20mph tailwind, we were able to force correlate AGM-65H greater than 13.5 miles at 19,000ft. When we turned into the wind, the headwind would cut our range down to about 11.5 to 12 miles! It's amazing that that is actually calculated in!

Thanks for the vid. I believe the volumetric lighting works in conjunction with the fog. If the lighting is on, you see the light get diffused by the fog. If it is off, you don't see that effect.
It's a cool effect however you slice it I think. Looking forward to trying a sandstorm in Syria!

I've found that, with this latest DCS patch, I can no longer masturbate in full-screen mode. Has anyone else noticed this? I am, however, still able to jack-off in windowed mode. Strange.
Is your fps stable? Cause i want to play Dcs with a 2060
They are the vast majority of the time. Before the Update, I was getting 80-100fps... since the Update, I've been seeing 60-75fps. Not sure what's behind the small hit I took. I was previously running fine on a 3060ti, this was recorded on a 3080ti 12Gb. I would think it will run fine for you in 2D.

@Westpoint1-1 I don't think I associated it with that, but now that you mentioned it, we will look into it and see since we have 2 fox3 and a third from a reliable home server builder. Can compare between the 2 soon and will let you know.

is there a performance hit?
I saw a mild one. This was recorded straight off my GPU in Multiplayer on a Fox3MS server.
After more experimenting, I found that above fog in a location like Guam, actually yielded a performance boost. I'm guessing it's due to the fact the less of the terrain and foliage is being rendered.
