Enjoy this blast from the past, 2016 Video on how to DevOps using off the shelf tools. Its more of an IT type video from my day job. Yes that is right I am committing the yt sin and not posting exactly the same kind of content every time ... but I think you can take it, and expect more embedded hacks in the future. why on earth is this person pronouncing the word as "in-gen-er-ic" when it is spelled "in-gen-ic"? very strange
i am looking for an upgrade for my ssd. which one would you recommend. i want 1Tb ssd going up
Great work

Wow these read and write credit cards too ?
I've been looking at your Ingenic T31 videos, and I'd love to contribute! Though I'm still new to this stuff so I don't know how much I can help.
Thank you, the best way to help is to engage on our discord server. There is an active community that can help you get started! You can find the discord server and some other information on our GitHub page. github.com/HackerHomestead/teacup
Sweet!
Ahhh Perl and ESX, things better left in the past. Would love to see an updated one with modern tech! Kubernetes + Podman?
Because I got high, because i got high, because I got high......
Good to see you back on the youtubes :)
Thanks I am trying, this might have been a low energy effort to "just get something out" 😂
can it modify the code?
What size are the torx screws
Somehow mine does not read the HID Prox Card II....
If the card is blank it won't read because it's blank. Try an already programmed card
Not sure if someone else has mentioned this but adb isn't actually Android specific, it can run on anything Linux. Of course stuff like adb install won't work but things like shell, push, pull and port forwarding usually work no matter the platform
It was a really nice surprise to see that it was being used elsewhere than android, specifically in embedded ... can be baked in right out of the box when using buildroot.
Can the written file be backuped on a PC, and be examined? Does it work for 13.56mhz toner chips?
I need to come back and do a deeper dive into this one. It does plug in to the computer and includes software (onboard) for downloading and decryption
how to buy this development board

Thank you for this video!
You are so welcome!
Please say Ingenic not Ingeneric ... driving me nuts!
Good news is now it drives me nuts too! I have it corrected in my brain now lol
at the risk of being a circuit design Nazi - microphones (electrets as used here) are considered to be capacitors not resistors. Otherwise love this video!

I just one of these from the thrift store. I like the keyboard, it's like my old BlackBerry phones or my Unihertz. I still use a keyboard phone (Unihertz Titan) so this is a cool relic. Super cool that it has a full number row too. But what can you do with this device? I wish I could use it as a simple messenger
Your in luck! I will be making a video about this soon! I got a JTAG programmer and found an open source firmware someone did on the prior version of the device with the same basic innards. My first Idea was to create something like an AlphaSmart. Where you could type up something have a bit of memory ... then connect it as a BT keyboard to type out the "buffer". Yep the SoC supports BT too!
@@hackerhomestead Super cool! I look forward to it!
I looked on the crucial website for compatible m.2 SSD's and there are quite a few, I was thinking of going gen 3 just because I thought it would be more compatible due to the computers age. Mine has an AMD GPU, firepro. I was curious, because I did not see this in your video, or maybe I over looked it, but on the bottom over, are there thermal heatsink pads that cover the m.2 chips? I'm assuming there are, as most laptops require them, do you have any info about that?
Hi Hacker Homestead, I've been reviewing the technical specifications of your laptop and noticed that it mentions it has a removable graphics card. I was wondering if there's a way to upgrade it with a different type of graphics card mentioned in the technical specs. I'd like to improve my laptop's performance a bit without spending too much on a new graphics card, and given that your laptop already has an Intel Integrated card and options like AMD FirePro™ W5170M, NVIDIA® Quadro® M1000M, and NVIDIA® Quadro® M2000M, I was wondering if it's possible to perform such an upgrade. I understand that these graphics cards mention support for Microsoft DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.4, which is great. However, I'd like to know if there's compatibility with your specific laptop model and if there's a relatively straightforward way to replace the graphics card with one of the mentioned alternatives. I would greatly appreciate any advice or information you can provide on this. Additionally, I was wondering if you could consider making a video on how to remove the BIOS password if your laptop has one. I purchased a similar laptop that unfortunately comes with a BIOS password, and I'm looking for a solution to remove it. If you have knowledge on how to do it and how to potentially upgrade the graphics card, it would be a great help to many people like me. If not, I'll be considering taking it to a service center to address these issues. I hope you can shed some light on these questions and provide some guidance on improving graphics performance and dealing with BIOS passwords. Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Wondering the same. I ordered a refurbished one on Amazon with the climate friendly pledge that certifies that it comes in excellent condition. I got the version with the AMD firepro in mine and was thinking of the Nvidia Quadro M2000M. Did you find an answer to this question?
Well, I've been searching, but there's no information available. From what I can gather, it seems that no one has made a video or publicly posted about this topic. However, as far as I know, it is possible to make changes, but due to the design of the motherboard and the case, there could be issues, both in terms of the computer detecting it and the size of the graphics card one might want to try to use. And I would like to give it a try, but right now, I don't have the resources. If I did, I definitely would.@@bizbarley74

alright this is epic
This is technically true90 ° angles are Impossible to Find In nature Trees have Waves
Speaking of trees you reminded me of one of my other favorite topics fractals and chaos theory 🤔
That is a good start. To be more accurate, everything is a field (energy field). A wave is what a thing does. A wave is not a thing, it is an action. The YT channel "Theoria Apophasis" does a good job explaining it. Perhaps search for "theoria apophasis magnetism".
Waves, man.... waves...
I feel like the dude would approve 😉
"how am I going to get a file out" he says while staring at lsz & lrz ...
A bit rhetorical really ... But since I was using screen I didn't have access to zmodem... I did get it to work later on, on a discord stream
Tapes are cool, ZFS is cool, that keyboard looks nice, me like
What a cliffhanger! Can't wait to see more.
Gonna have trace down those lines and perhaps source a DSLAM ... Oh teaser I found someone who will light up the fiber drop and where it's terminated. This is odd in my town of 20k
Your Tinkerboard sounds delicious, but even $100 is too rich for my blood. My best option is the cheapest OpenWRT compatible obsolete router you can find on E. Bay.... Or, if I'm really lucky with that OpenWRT compatibility - a router you found in somebody else's rubbish (garbage).
That's totally fair ... Since all these cameras were flooding the market I mainly wanted a reference design. What pains me is when embedded devices are locked down and not reusable... My delight is when we are able to repurpose existing hardware. From one perspective I feel like we have already taken so much out of the ground and spent so much energy on something... Let's not just throw it out like it's going to biodegrade or something 😂
Wow that totally made me sound like a tree hugging hippy... Like I said that's just One way to look at it ... The ability to retool and reuse has a lot of positive angles lol
Oh that's cute, lots of potential for fun there.
Turns out it plays videos too :)
I shared this video with my son, who is a homestead prepper with an amateur radio license. I helped him pass the technician test when he was eleven years old. I still have hope that he'll take to the radio hobby as he has to homesteading.
Awesome! I will be posting again soon. Getting my shop in town ready and sorted out
I love that the architecture of this board means the tools you use to hack it are simple enough for even a n00b like me to understand.
Had to comment in this... Strange, wonderfully meditative and enjoyable experience watching hands do simple work while listening to beautiful music. Would like to know what the two battery case devices are. Peace from rural upstate NY.

Well thank you so much I have been on a bit of a break while opening a shop. But stay tuned
Thanks for your videos. Do you know of any listing for cameras that have this same board? Thanks.

〃 A part of bearing arms is letting one know they need to stop it or there will be consequences & reprecussions. Diplomacy is great.
WASPs are like wild beasts: they live in the prehistory, where every other human being is most surely an enemy That's why they think bearing arms is more important than knowing how to read or being a good parent
Could be nice if the tinkerboard could be pin & formfactor compatible with RPi or Android...
I've waited too long to reply to this ... I agree, we ran into a lot of decisions that we basically kicked down the road in the name of "yah but will this version even work at all". Technically there is sssooommmmeeee compatibility baked it since most pins are multi use as gpio. But I would not slap something on without testing... Also still working on actually testing all the gpio and functions since now we have some real boards ❤️
What did you solder the TTL USB leads to? You don't say! I have a computer from a Samsung LED TV that I would like to do this to, ... but I need more clue, I think. This is the thing th-cam.com/video/CrDtx8zmVzY/w-d-xo.html the WiFi interface is just a beefy USB WiFi dongle, so I know there's a USB bus that is more than just the one port at the back for plugging in a USB thumb drive with mp3/4 files, ... It also has an infra-fred thing for the remote and it has an ethernet adapter, ... There are thousands of these things lying around all over the world and we need to figure what is the best thing to do with them.
If you could send me some high resolution pictures I would be happy Todo a video inspection on it. handy@hackerhomestead.com I soldered to a TTL serial port that was labeled TX,RX,Gnd and used 3.3v adapter. I think I mention it in one of my videos at least. But again would be happy to help, I've wanted to crack a smart TV for a while.
