  • A Brief message with Handy Hacker ;)
Those who are astute will notice I recorded this for the last episode but had to cut due to my already lengthy nerd out. But I wanted to include them in a short.
Please keep the suggestions and comments coming you really do help drive this channel.

Thank you so much for making this video. I just discovered your channel.
My 10 year old daughter has a really difficult time with trying and failing, and so I had her watch the first minute of this video. I think hearing someone else say what I've been saying to her for years actually helped her to understand. So again, from a new subscriber, thank you!

You are so welcome! I have found that it is the struggles, the failures that define us! I survived being severally "learning disabled". School especially was a constant struggle, socially awkward and nerdy, never quite fitting in. But thanks to supportive family and mentors, I became stronger with each attempt. Today I embrace failure for the truly awesome teacher it is (way more than any class in school)! My ❤ goes out to your daughter and everyone ... it takes all of us, sharing our success and failures to make a better universe!

@@hackerhomestead It sounds like it was the teachers who were "learning disabled" in that they failed to recognise your great talent !!!

It's worth a lot! You know one of the reasons I'm doing this is I'm 42 and I feel like not only does the nerd want out ... But I should be an example to others that just because we are normally the quiet ones doesn't mean we don't have a powerful voice, especially in numbers ❤️

Whatever happens it is a win win situation, the experience is good and we learn a lot.

Am loving your channel. Please post loads more content ! I am playing around monitoring cheap chinese security cameras with wireshark to see if they pump any data to anywhere they shouldn't. Nothing yet but it's like fishing ;-) Am monitoring their VPN travel routers too...

Thank you so much! I enjoyed your videos too! I always wondered how to record from the IR camera. I'm glad you're monitoring those devices. Not that a manufacturer has to be Chinese to attempt to spy etc. 🫣 In fact the further I dig I am starting to develop a hypothesis that, gasp Chinese manufacturers may be more open than Western ones ... While this may cause neglect for security... It does leave us with the opportunity to "vote with our dollar" and promote Open Firmware that doesn't outsource responsibility to another person or entity.

Would it be posible to Create a USB NIC on the usb connector at the same time as the camera feed is sent on it? Like a dual usb device that we can do with an arduino. (programing port/serial port) we have the same with some hamradio device (USB audio and serial (CAT) so we can control the radio and listen to it with just a single USB connection.

It is totally possible, that was along the lines that we where having with the adbd that several people pointed out. It also something (Ethernet specifically) that "should" be a low lift using the Linux gadget kernel api. Thank you! your suggestions really do guide where I take this!

p.s. one of the reasons I originally craked this thing open, I was trying to revisit a low power DTMF controlled SSTV project I had done with a rasberry pi a few years ago. 73! de KD0PBZ

@@hackerhomestead i commented on another one of this series. really cool find.
Micah uses an image viewer to sort of see what the binary file looks like. you did a hexdump and i saw some repeating values which could mean the file isn't compressed.
i stumbled upon that one in the time of covid where someone else used a blue ray lens to view cell structure or whatever biological items that are viewable at that level, using ps3 or blue ray optics and electronics.
i think i may be mixing stories, but it went something like that :)
