Sorry mate I have grassed on you to festool for that one😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 I just hope I’m not the only one Mark lol 🤣👍😄
Nice job Mark !!!!!!
Thank you Michael 👍😄
My wife is a gilfach goch girl all here family is still there
Only up the road from me lol 👍😄
I really liked that, I'm in canada and your video came up as the first hit on my search, obviously you are Welsh, i was shocked on your accent when you started talking as i am from Aberdare originally and all my family is still there, i get home at least a couple of times a year to visit them. Well done.
Hi Steve crazy it’s going out in Canada 🇨🇦. Funny enough I’ve got a subscriber from Vancouver island that comments also. I’m only an hour away from Aberdare 👍Bridgend Glad you liked it,thanks Steve 👍😄
Always inspiring thanks Mark .
Thanks for the kind words Barry 👍😄
I only use the dust bag on exterior work. Totally agree the paper does last longer with the extractor connected.
Hi Mark yeah,we have no option when we are up ladders sanding. Thanks 👍😄
hey mate, how stable is it hooked up like that? Planning on getting one, cutting a router lift in it for my OF1400 and hanging it off the side of my saw, safe or nah?
Hi mate they do wobble side to side but take downwards pressure with no problem 👍
Great demonstration, thanks for the video! Have you had any experience with the Bench Dogs or TSO Rail squares? The angle stop square guide from Festool is yet another option. It's quite a lot of money to spend and I don't really know what to do now.
Sadly I haven’t had any experience with TSO and bench dogs squares but I do know they are great. I’ve have a look at them in Axminster tools and to be honest I nearly bought them. The angle stop square I haven’t had and experience with but it does look a great tool if your cutting angles regularly. I will say mind you can go wrong with the Festool square. It also fits in the Festool guide rail bag in the front pocket if that helps. Thanks 👍😄
@@markthomas5139 Thanks, I think I will go for the Festool. I don't do all that much angle work so it probably isn't justified, more money for other tools. Thanks again o/
@@AdmiralSergeant-z9t no problem, glad to help. Sounds like a great choice 👍😄
What did you use to enclose the body?
I’ve had some made with my name on there. Loads sell them online like eBay. They are 3D printed 👍
Thnx found them on Etsy
@@cohnuh69 that’s ok glad you found them 👍😄
Does it make a big difference?
Any thoughts how it compares to the BHC? From the specs the KHC is more powerful, how is the experience with both when drilling in concrete?
Yes the BHC is more compact tool. Obviously it doesn’t have chisel function just rotary and hammer drill. The HKC has the chisel function and is a bigger tool. I’ve used the BHC with a 1metre 22mm drill bit many of times through engineering brick and it has no trouble doing it. Haven’t tested HKC on that yet but I know it would have no problems with doing it. No doubt the HKC will last and I will say I’ve had my BHC 5 years now. The BHC is more for kitchen fitting. More compact and very balanced tool. The HKC is more heavy at the front and needs to be used with 2 hand. For me personally mind. I do like HKC just would prefer a better trigger on there. 👍
@@markthomas5139 Thank you for sharing your 2 cents. As of now I do not require the chisel function of the KHC, main use will be drilling in concrete. As the price of both are quite close, I am leaning more towards the KHC mainly because it’s the newer model.
@@FortuneTwinkie glad to help. Yes if that what’s going to be your main use then I would go with KHC as it does pack much more power 👍
Great video Mark !!! thank you
Appreciate it Michael,thanks 👍😄

After seeing so many put it down I still bought one and mine is spot on. Very pleased with it.
Yeah Mark,I use mine all the time well worth the investment. I’ve just been thinking how many times my guide rails have taken a knock. That could be 1mm out I have. Nothing to worry about as these squares speed work up 👍😄
Nice work mate
Thanks Dirk mate 👍😄
Great project! I am still not sure why Festool didn't make their work surfaces more rigid. I know they sell the attachment rods, but I think it was an oversight they wanted to cover up, not trying to squeeze us for more. money.
Thanks Brad,I know they are a right pain. I’ve tried adjusting them but that’s the best I can get out of them. The MFT does have rods as an expensive extra but I think they don’t fit the mobile workshop sadly. When I get around to making and setting up my workshop my MFT can be setup then 👍
When a tool tries to use a tool.
Let’s see your videos ?? People like you know it all so get making your videos to show us what we are doing wrong, instead of insulting people 👍
LOL, to think that you think its problem that its not centered on "your" board is hilarious.
Glad you found my video funny. Though I was being serious but glad you got a laugh from it 👍
You are a genius mark
Thanks 😂👍
Thank you, Mark! I'm just waiting for the shiny new DF500 to arrive. With that in mind, I've been watching a lot of Domino tutorials. As soon as you mentioned the alignment issues, I imagined there must be a gizmo for that. And sure enough, there is. As you say, I'd still want to reference off the face side and edge, but at least if you do muck it up, there's a fighting chance of not having to bin the expensive stock. Just hoping, like all things Festool, that the little bit of plastic doesn't leave me short for Christas.
Yes it certainly helps. Some say use the side fence for the depth adjustment but just using this makes it much easier. As when using it it stops the fence moving down. As we know once your set your good to go. Practice makes perfect with the domino just take your time and you will produce the goods. Thanks, enjoy your DF500 👍😄
That looks good. Years ago I had 4 Ryobi 4amp NiCad batteries I use on a job cutting underlayment. It was a bit cold in the house so I could only work about 4 hrs. straight until the batteries were to flat to get a charge enough to keep the 6.5" circular saw going. Batteries and tools have come a long way since then.
I’ve been there myself. My old Nicad I had to charge over night as it used to take so long to charge. Lithium batteries has been a game changer as you can charge at any stage of the cycle. Nicad you needed to wait until they were dead until you charged. Thanks Warren 👍😄
Cheers Mark
Christian no problem 👍😄
I think your gripe is more with Tanos than Festool as that's who actually makes the systainers for all these companies. I haven't looked into it but it's quite possible Tanos just isn't producing the T-Loc version anymore.
Hi yes they have stopped making the T-loc but you can still pick them up. Tanos is owned by Festool mind it’s their sister company. All I’m getting at is I’ve invested in a system and the changes are not as good as the T-loc system 👍
Does it offer more power than the 5.0 on the track saw
Personally didn’t see power difference but yes more run time 👍
made in CHINA, so sad... If festool heads this direction, im done buying their stuff, or if they cut prices in half for everything I might. I am sure there are some other euro brands that still havent moved to china mfr.
I don’t think they make them in china yet 👍
I agree with you, but old systainers are still avsilable.
Yes they are available but not in great quantities. Unfortunately the problem then is trying to transfer over the old Systainer as the inserts do not fit. Modifications are needed to do this plus extra supports needed to keep the tools from not moving around in transit 👍
Could not of been said better 👏👏👍
Thanks James mate 👍😄
Super useful. Thanks for taking the time to make and post this.
No problem Dunstan, hope this helps you 👍😄
I have the original Sys 1 systainers I got with my original Festool kit. The new Sys2 and 3 have a better single latch, the two latches on the Sys 1 are hard to release. Also, you need to put Sys1 boxers u er the two newer ones to get them to latch up together. I know what you mean about the Sys3 height, this threw me off and I had to adjust my Sys drawers to fit the newer Sys 3 two height box. Cheers
Cheers Alholston ,I only own 1 sys 1 but I only use it for storage. I know they are a pain to open. I feel your pain on reconfiguring you sys draw setup. Sadly I don’t get on with the new systainers 👍😄
I like the new single latch on the T Type and new Sys3 cases, they are much easier to open. Also, you can open a case locked under another unit, by just turning the latch and lifting it up, without having to unstick it. This works when the top sustainer is a single unit, like router bits or an accessory sustainer locked on top the of Router or drill box. The biggest issue is the new taller size of rhe Sys 3 boxes, which requires reconfiguring the drawer system. Cheers
@@alholston-smith7631 yes these are much better upgrades to the sys 1. I do understand the reason for straight handle on sys3 is for a spirit level but much prefer sys2 with bow handle. Thanks for those tips also will be checking them out. Maybe Festool will make sys3 boxes in sys2 sizes all my problems will be solved 👍
turn the systainer 180 degrees/ and use 4 fingers first and thumb second to catch and release and pull the handle. That is the way it is designed
Thanks for the information. Honestly I don’t like tipping the systainers just in case something gets damaged. The original design works better mind just simply by lifting the handy. Thanks Jon 👍
I hate that the corners are different and if you stack 2 with 3 you loose the stream line of a nice looking stack, that's just me but it does annoy me...
Yes exactly,I totally agree with that as it’s a right pain. Would have been easier to keep the sides the same. 👍😄
I agree totally. I was so wild about the handle I took a chisel and sorted them out. The size difference is a real pain. Why change something that didn’t need messing with.
Obviously Mark,we are all thinking the same except the ones who designed them. I think I’m going to take you up on the chisel option as they really get on my nerves. Same question I’m asking as sys 2 worked and never needed full redesign 👍😄
that high-voltage voice......
Thanks 😂👍😄
Hardly a nightmare...🙄
As the saying goes don’t fix something that’s not broken. Nightmare to be honest messing with storage you built having to adjust everything they have changed 👍
Quit whinging
Part 2 coming up 👍😂
Systainer..?? Bloody Boxes!!
Yes systainers 👍
Agree but it’s not festools fault though it’s TANOS they are the ones that make them and just add the festool logos
Yeah I know it’s not all their fault but they should have pushed for better design on sys 3. Sadly this new design has gone backwards. As we know it took away something that worked 👍
Festool owns Tanos
@@harveysmith100 Yes I checked it’s says they do 👍😄
@@markthomas5139 Yes, the parent company of both companies are a huge German engineering company. Festo if I am not mistaken.
@@harveysmith100 yes they used the branding Festo until the year 2000 they then rebranded the company to what it is today called Festool 👍
Great video |Mark !!!
Thanks Michael 👍😄
I agree that these new systainer boxes need to be fully backwards compatible or are too frustrating to own. I also want to comment on your shirt, I love it and own way too many in multiple colors that look just like it. 😂
I just wanted to have my moan lol. Yeah I own a few of those T-shirts now will be selling them in my shop soon if your interested 😂😂👍😄
I only have one "t-loc" style systainer, the rest of mine are all the sys 3, but I am very much annoyed with the front handle situation on the smaller sys 3 containers. So much of Festool's appeal is that everything works together, but there have been a few instances lately of incompatible tools/accessories. For instance on the new 1010R when you use the light module (what an oversight for so long, yes I want to see what I'm doing), you can't use the chip deflector at the same time. Not a huge deal, but it does reduce the mess if used, so why not make the chip deflector attach with magnets or something. I shouldn't have to engineer a solution myself, that's what I'm paying Festool money for. Thanks for another video! Rant over.
Yes,we are all finding things that annoy us. Hopefully one day they will address these for us. With the OF 1010 that’s a pain. It’s worse pain for me owing OF1400 that they haven’t included the light option yet lol 😂. With the chip deflector that would honestly p me off. Same goes for 1400 mind only certain size bits work with chip deflector. When in CMS I can’t use the dust extraction port which winds me up. Maybe Festool will make these extra parts to solve these problems Brad 👍😄
Thanks for sharing. What Milwaukee do really well is throwing a lot of power at things. Their impact drivers and combis are really powerful but they do lack in ergonomics. A Japanese impact will have less power but usually they feel better. Also you’ll struggle to get a Milwaukee tool repaired in the uk. I’ve known a few times now that the owners have had to replace certain tools because they’ve packed up after 2 years and couldn’t be repaired. I run hikoki for general building tools and festool for everything inside the house as that’s 90% of my work. Spent nearly 10k on tools in the last 2 years. Only issues the hikoki blower had to be returned because it started playing up (5 year warranty though) and festool ctl sys has to be sent back because it doesn’t like sucking up fine dust despite me changing the bag and upgrading to a long life bad etc. everything else is pretty amazing.
Thanks, yes I use my Milwaukee for my rip out and building work as they are very reliable and robust. I’ve had a Milwaukee 240v sds die only 2 year old. Couldn’t get it repaired sadly. I’ve got Combi drill and impact by Milwaukee 6 year old used every day solid tools. I do know that Festool KHC will do it’s warranty period as Festool do make them to last. I’ve also had Festool clt sys die after 4 years but that was used daily my second is 3 years this month. Oh I did have Milwaukee multi tool die also after 3 years been using Festool one now for 5 years and it’s great 👍
Top notch mate😊👍
Thanks mate,much appreciated 👍😄
Nice job Thomas!
Thanks mate 👍😄
Nice work, but I think the top would of been better if it was rectangular
Thanks mate, you’re 100% right. I am going to make a different top to be honest 👍😄
Very Nice work Mark !!! Great video .thank you
Thank you Michael much appreciated 👍😄
Nice work Mark, great looking dressing table and quality of workmanship.
Thank you mate 👍😄
A lot of people find Festool machines under powered, they seem to be a fine carpenter s tools rater than a builders tools
100 % correct they are the rolls Royce of carpenters tools. No doubt it will last it’s warranty 👍😄
Thanks for the video Mark, been thinking about doing the same for my MFT
Thanks, yes as you can see in my other videos it’s doing well. People did comment saying it’s ruined but works like a dream 👍😄
XD
