7 Tips To Make Your Skateboard Setup Last Longer
The weird chip at the top of the board I had the exact same thing too! I’ve have two almost boards and has the same chip crazy!
It's not even fair, Bones all day.
Dlx decks have lasted the longest for me although I don’t like how they feel
Element is great!!! They are all made the same way bruh!!!
Never seen anyone buy an actual dark star deck
I live in the east coast, have always skated crusty ledges. Been skating nothing but tensor since the 90s with the plastic slider piece for nose/slides. Always been technical, never been much of a big gapper so makes sense that these have always worked for me.
Thanks for saving me money. I was thinking about a Zoo York deck. I liked a toy machine deck years ago but haven’t since. Appreciate all the help. I got a pardon my thrashing shaped deck and it was quite nice artwork and concave wise.
this is what i want in a review W Holiday
just copped one in 2024 and enjoying it so far. love the bigger nose. i got the brick styled one. has good flip imo
What year did you buy the blue board? I had the board when I was a teenager. I’m trying to prove that my age was changed by sex traffickers. I had the blue deck in 1998.
Great review dog 👍
fixing to try one out fr
Oh ! I just bought the mag light lo Mullen 5.25 on a 8" 14 WB board .... It's a whole different animal! My current board is Indy's 144 forged hollow 8.6" 14.25 WB and ok on the same board I've tried krux dlk, I got used to the krux.... I can't get used to the tensor yet what trips me a lot is the turning ! It's so different it's not tight but it isn't loose, like it's loose when I turn , but if I keep it straight it's stiff it's so weird
Fukn hell u love to snap those boards 😂
listen to yourself frontside 180....FRONT SIDE....THIS IS A FRONTSIDE BOARDSLIDE
you will have to forgive me i know this video was posted 4 years ago but diving down the rabit whole it is fucking insane to see how many people think this is a backside boardslide
would look nicer if u would cut the griptape and let the logo be seen.
Im currently skating this same deck, I love it. Im riding Ace AF1 trucks myself.
Surely make more vids!!
I have yet to try any of the other carbon fiber insert decks from Santa Cruz or Quasi,Madness, etc but I have skated a 100%Bamboo deck and a Powell Flight deck. And Powell is Insane with Pop/Feel
I'm loving my Spitfire Formula Four 99a Conicals. Just enough grip for the skatepark and hard enough for flatground and street skating.
flicking out off the nose will give you a lot more controlled/consistent kickflip.
anybody who suggested blind, enjoi, almost, darkstar weren't good quality doesn't know much about skateboarding. dwindle/dsm makes the best boards in the game.
From my experience spitfire is very consistent nowadays. They did go through a rough patch around the time this video was posted. But the last 2 years ish I've gotten nothing but great quality.
Little did they know that fetty was actually a monster.
What do you mean? I have no idea about him
@@pauliewalnuts5241look up fetty potter 14yr old girl and watch the vids
Oh.. please shut the fuck up you white knight simp. Do you believe that bitch who lied about her age to Fetty and the police.. and then recorded a video reading a text obviously written by her mother?
I used to work for ATM skateboards and the wood of those two boards are the same, the only reason that board in yellow is cheaper is because that is from their price point skateboard line of skateboards (always a 1 solid color with that small Winged skull pic) and all the other decks with full multi colored board graphics were sold at full price.
Where did you find the mini skull graphic? Havent seen those since the blue bins in zumiez and theyre never online
I had a couple Zoo York boards late ‘90s- early ‘00s and really liked them. I haven’t tried them since and they are definitely using a different wood shop so I can’t speak to what they are like now. I remember the shape being pretty unique/ interesting, but I liked how it skated. I remember it having a really big kinda blunt nose and a small tail, but pretty deep concave
i have powell dragons 58. the ones i have are the cut ones, they dont name them that i could find.they come in 2 shapes. any how i cant see life without them.they are good on everything and the streets and sidewalks are really rough here.some of the parks too
I’ve actually never owned a set of spitfires, not necessarily opposed just haven’t. If I were to try them it’d probably be radials/radial fulls as I like a wider wheel with a rounded edge. Actually just got some bones x97 56mm v6 wheels and really like them so far, too soon to review them but first impressions are good. They’re wide with rounded edge like a radial but side cut like a conical
what size will fit 8.4 deck?
It's kinda wild to hear someone say dwindle brands are known to be cheaper quality. Back in the 2008-2010 days, Almost and Darkstar were my go too. And they had a rep for sure. But lets be honest, skate brands really live and die by whatever is trendy in that moment in time.
Does it have some arch support? I longboard and have a high arch. I can't deal with flat footed shoes. Van's popcush has been saving my life. But wanted to know how these are
That’s a good question. I honestly can’t answer because I always put arch support into my shoes anyway and switch out the insoles to something with more impact protection. The shoe is phenomenal for durability with its extra layer of protection and grip
@@iholiday4639 @iholiday4639 which insoles do you recommend? I've seen -remind insoles -FP insoles I think the FP have a moldable one maybe the remind do too. Saw a lot of longboarders and reddit old skaters sing the praises of these (I don't use reddit other than video game questions and longboard questions. If there are better alternatives for a skate/longboard group I'm open to it) I'll say this vans popcush on the kyle walkers are the most arch support I've ever gotten from a stock insole. Gilbert Crockett isn't bad either.
A minute 15 in and I can't take this shit you were incredibly boring
I had two Revive boards, both being the white and red lifeline, and They would break on me after a month or two. They are amazing decks, and this is coming from some one who is 250 lbs. And I've skated five stairs, four stairs and and three, even landed on pop shuvits wrong so many times but they still ended up being being durable, and when they cracked, they would last a couple of says oreven weeks after the Crack. Revive skateboards have great boards, not many like them, but I personally think they are great.
I'm new to skating, I got a deathwish board and on the first week I had with it I was working on my ollies for abt 1-2hrs per day. Razor tailed hella fast and I felt a noticeable decrease in pop. Pretty shit how the amazon board I got before getting an actual skateboard had better pop after a month of just working on ollies.
Zoo York used to be known for deep concave and deep kicks I bet they switched woodshops
Dude I appreciate the review the only reason I really followed is because I’m in Mississippi and started here too. I’m from Cali and our streets are fu**ed in MS. No parking garage but Oxford and Tupelo are 30 and 40 mins away and they have parks but I just started this year and trying to get cruising down.
My whole journey started at a parking garage in Starkville and then I went to this tiny part in West Point. It was so many years ago now that it’s crazy to think about
@@iholiday4639 that’s dope bro!
I just skate hollow trucks because they are still pretty strong I’ve had no problems with mine and I’ve used them for years now.
Do you stillskate
Very rarely:/
Skate or die brother
Anybody remember iron horse griptape? I know I’m old.
i have spitfire tablets white 99a and spitfire conical full normal 99a and they have very diferent uretane. Conicall full are very slippery and feel difent when u toch it( more like plastic). And tablets feel more like sand. Also have bones stf v3 103a and they feel more fast and grippy than spitfire.
If a board don’t chip it breaks. When making a deck you have to basically compromise with nature. When you add strengths in one spot you lose it else where. Woodchuck blanks are like 30$ and for the money they are great. The shape is very similar to the old anti hero shapes
They’re pressed by woodchuck laminates. A very good American woodshop. If you’re prone to snapping decks judging by where you broke then you probably are, you would do the same thing to a bbs or Ps. Stix deck. The brand death is also pressed by them. I love their. Blanks pretty solid and lasted me month and a half.
That deck looks sick! Too bad it's sold out everywhere x_x
Giger is the best one they have and he should actually go Pro on a pro team not the youtube revive team lol And it seems to be a thing with people that buy revive boards...they never say anything about the nose/tail size, wheels base etc. Kinda stupid to do a half ass review. Go watch a Santa Cruz review.
Flip boards are my favorite mellow boards, I usually skate steep decks but if I get a wild hair I'll skate a flip. Oust bearings are also the best bearings other then swiss on the market imo.
What are the most important parts? I changed my bearings from my complete to bones reds bearings and am looking into changing my wheels. Are the trucks more important or are the bearings and wheels more important or is it the deck?
I skate revive decks but they arent pros. They have some sick skaters but they just arent pro tier or competing to prove it. Pros used to have to be found and skate and move up in the community, gain sponsors etc. Shrock kinda cut all the corners but that doesnt mean their products are bad
