M111 kompressor swapped 6 speed w201 - update
I had to replace some "new" parts after approx. 2000km
That might have something to do with aftermarket bushings and more power but I really expected these things to last a bit more.

M111 Wiring Harness - How To DIY
มุมมอง 4.5K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
My take on M111 swap wiring. I always prepare my harnesses like this. Harness in the video is from 1999. W208 CLK 230kompressor. In the end it all comes to: just connect and -, all other connections are factory...
Extraction of the W208 M111 Wiring Harness
มุมมอง 3.4K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video shows how I usually pull the harness out of donor cars. I have done this with W208 CLK and R170 SLK cars, all 5 speed manual, some 200 kompressor, some 230 kompressor. W208 CLK has newer keys and EIS while R170 SLK has older flip-keys and no EIS(has antenna around the key barrel and a separate immo box). 1997., 1998., 1999. and 2000. have different style connectors, ecu-s and k40-s b...

W126 Speedo Into W201 Cluster + Trip Reset - Part 2
มุมมอง 696ปีที่แล้ว
This is my way of doing this. First time I did it was in 2020. I remember reading on some forum that you can't make the trip reset work... Well, you can if you want to... Disclaimer: there are different w201 and w126 speedos, some need more, some less cutting. Since the final product is a custom piece, if the speedo does not fit, you have to make it fit.
W126 Speedo Gears and Cut Marking - Part 1
มุมมอง 301ปีที่แล้ว
W126 electronic speedo is usually swapped into w201 cluster if you put newer gearbox in the W201 thus removing the cable drive for the original speedo. I have done this before, trial and error style... Now I decided to make a kind of how-to video about it. Lost a bit of video due to an error in video conversion...

Replacing all the bushings - 8 hours in silent 20 minutes
มุมมอง 426ปีที่แล้ว
The time has come to replace the bushings(and ball joints) on M111 2.3 kompressor swapped w201... DIY style... My first time replacing all the bushings on the car. Took me aprox. 8 hours to do it, trying to figure it out and trying different things as I went. I've made a few mistakes but it worked out in the end. I'm happy to finally be able to get it done. But hey, more work lies ahead! Strong...

What suspension are you running ? also those red bushings for the rear subframe. Thank you!
all bushings are StrongFlex street(red - except for the track ones(yellow) on the toe-arms, they didn't have red ones in stock that time), suspension is MTS Techink kit for w201
Glad to see you again! Thought you abandoned your projects. Thanks for all your work and all the explanations! Looking forward for new videos, greetings from Poland!
Thanks 😄 I've just been busy with other stuff, I post "more regularly" on my instagram @w.pittstop when I work on stuff 👌
Welcome back !!!! Missed your awesome videos. For the wheel bearings, FAG or SKF if made in Germany or UE, don't buy if made in China. That's the problem with Febi or even Lemforder, some of their stuff is made in China and it's garbage.
yes, I have noticed Febi stuff tends to fail more often on my other cars also...
Brilliant video
Thank you!
Would a M111.978 from w638 be similar? Thanks
I believe those had older version of ecu setup, a bit different, maybe less complicated
Thanks for showing all, you are the best! But i have problem with injectors. Injectors don't get the signal/voltage and they do not open. Maybe you know what could be the problem?
I'm 90% sure it is an "immo" problem, unless you have damaged wires
we think alike! didn't think there was anyone else out there! Cheers!
Cheers :D
Very nice! What about drive shaft, did you need to shorten or extend it? Can you make another video about drive shaft?
I used w208 driveshaft with shortened back section and welded in a new bearing support when I put 5speed gearbox from w208, now I just replaced front section that was shorter(I do not know from what car that came off because the guy I bought it from also didn't know)
Hello. I have a CLK 2.3k engine and I would like to put it in a W201 1.8 manual. Will the gearbox go from 1.8 to 2.3k? The Clk has an automatic gearbox, and the W201 has a manual 4b.What engine mounts you use?
you can use the w201 gearbox with some modifications, engine mounts are from w124 e220(any m111 w124) or om601 I think
Great Work! very valuable. Is the wiring the same for a motor with automatic transmission? Do you have a pinout from the ECU with only the necesarry wiring? I started as well.. Big Thanks.
Thank you for the kind words, this was a manual car, automatic is the same
How can I contact you? do you make it to order? I'm going to do a swap on my 190e to M111. this will help me? Thank you!!!
I have a link to my Facebook profile in the channel info, feel free to contact me there 👌
Awesome work Man! I am just about to start my project with swapping an m111 from w203 to my w201. Thanks for every video and for sharing knowledge. I Hope for a new video soon!
glad to help, w203 has a newer ecu but the gist is the same, feel free to contact me if you need anything(also, watch out for the front oil sump setup)
Спасибо за полезное видео. Не ли схемы в виде рисунка?
I did understand this is your second project 😂 well done you gove us a precious information to how we can so it easily 👏 😀 🙌 😊 ❤️

w124 asd diff, 3.67 ratio, but I will go for a longer ratio diff
What trans is this ?
the number on it is faded, I believe it says 716.660
Any chance you can share your source for cuts please very hard to follow along with your video. Thank you
All cuts were made by "trial and error", I cut a bit off and if it didn't fit I cut a bit more. Since there are differences(year of production) in w126 speedo construction some need more/less cutting
Thank you for your reply I have started mine I am only concerned about the pcb cuts causing the speedo to no longer work.
@@davidb3541 those pcb boards are simple, if you want you can trace all leads you cut out and connect them back by soldering regular wires to them. but most leads on the "top" of the w126 speedo board are for blinker lights
I would like to know which plug did you connect the two green wires to? thank you for your help
if you mean CAN wires, from the ignition box to the D connector on the ecu (match same color wires)
How has this shifter modification been working in the car since you posted this video? Good work 👍
working great, shifter movement feels 100% mechanical, might be to harsh for some people
This is the point feel harsher🎉🎉🎉
You’re a top bloke going out your way to help Lee Lockwoods 190e. You’re a very talented man
Well done on coming over to help lee great work william
Awesome work on Lee Lockwood’s 190e, you have a new follower 👍
Top man with the 190E with lee lockwood. Do you know about the vw 2l 16v abf loom in too a mk1 golf loom.
Thanks! I haven't really done work on vw stuff, but I believe it can be done in a simple way.
Can this be used with an engine that have electronic speed?
yes, if you connect it like this, it becomes something like a standalone harness meaning you can put it in anything really...

Hi! Big thanks for makeing this video, but i run in to a problem... I connected all the wires like you showed, everything seems to be okey, but my ignition key just dont turn. Like something is mising... where do i need to search for problem?

Did everything as you described, kept the metal ignitiom box to be sure. But when i turn the K40 on (ignitiom on) i only hear a buzzing sound from the electronic throttlebody. When i put 12v on the purple (starter) wire the 038 relay is keeps clicking, but nothing else happens. Do you have an idea what my problem could be?

I would like to ask you: Can I install a 6 gearbox M111 on an M102 2.3 engine?
yes, but you need different flywheel since 6speed from m111 has shorter input shaft(if your m102 gearbox already has a short input shaft, like on the diesel with dual-mass flywheel, it will bolt on) keep in mind that the driveshaft is different
How did you turn the supercharger on and off?
I put a switch on the pulley wire(engine is from earlier model with electromagnetic sc pulley)
Hi do you do a costume wires for engine m111 going to 190e 1993
not right now, I thought about it, maybe in the future
Can you give contact ? I have a few question :D
Bro why you make this Fake Video ? It Doset fit ;(
of course it does not fit, that is why you see me cutting stuff until it does fit 🤣
The turn signal Plate wont fit over the Speedo!!! It lays infront of me
The speedo in the Last Clip wasend even the one you Build in the Video. The km speaks for it Self
Pls make a Full Video

This is the most helpful video on TH-cam, you Sir are a legend thanks heaps
Glad it helped
Nice Video!!! Which cable is the speedometer connected to?
I have w126 electronic speedo driven by Dakota Digital SGI100BT unit via rear diff abs sensor
Hello, thank you for sharing. What drive shaft did you use ?
I used w208 CLK drive shaft, back half shortened, welded in a mount for bigger CLK bearing and asd diff with CLK drive shaft flange.
Nice! I'm looking for a donor to my mb190 to do the same swap, just discovered you channel and the info is gold for me! Thanks a lot!
Is there going to be another video, dang. I forgot to pull the ignition switch when I had my donor car. Pulled the harness and ECU, but not the switch
There will be more videos, just not sure when you might be able to get "immo off" done to your ecu despite the missing switch, or get another switch and key programmed to the ecu I would suggest immo off emulator(removing the immobilisation) if it is cheaper - that eliminates some problems
@@pittstop4310 cool cool yeah, I will most likely do immo off since it's easier
Amazing help! Thanks for taking the time to record this for people who are not to deep in this topic. With this video, nearly every mechanic should be able to run this engine in any car:-) Do you have any experience with the M111 say the 220E from the W124 for example? Is the wiring similar? Thinking about another W201 with the none boosted engine for my wife🤣
Thank you for the kind words! w124 220e had older ecu(referred to as HFM ecu) and other stuff also. The gist is pretty much the same, but it has different pinout since it only has 2 connectors.
What did you du with the speedometer? The old one had wire, and the new 6 speed has electonic sensor?
6speed does not have any speed sensors. I am using rear abs sensor signal and feeding it into W126 electronic speedo via "signal converter"(in my case, Dakota Digital sgi100-bt)
Cool idea, with the cable eliminated. Do you know the donor, the gearbox came from? There’s a few 6 Speed gearboxes available, but not sure, which one would suit best…is the car you are installing this, your 230 kompressor 190?
I have been told the gearbox came from w210 270cdi yes, I put it in my 230 kompressor 190
Thank you very much for your effort of recording this. It is a big help for us old skool guys, who are not so familiar with the modern electronics... Seems to make this swap a lot more interesting and doable. Is it easy to get these donor cars in your area?
glad to help! clk-s are not rare on the market. The ones like in the video, cheap parts cars, pop up from time to time
Looking forward to the next video where you go over the wiring!
Me too. It´s the most interesting part of the swap:-)
What clutch and flywheel did you go for
all stock m111 stuff
what red bushings do you use for the wishbones?
all bushings on the car are strongflex polyurethane bushings, street version
Good video, it would be awesome to know part numbers, of both transmission and driveshaft and then which clutch and flywheel you are using as well. As i'm going through the swap right into a 5 speed now, then later down the road the same m111k with a 6 speed.
sadly, both the transmission and driveshaft have damaged numbers. I believe the gearbox is 716.640, the driveshaft has first 3 numbers 124 but the rest are not readable(I have been told it is from some W124 auto) my clutch is just regular flywheel and clutch combo from w208 2.3k
@@pittstop4310 thanks. That's helpful..
