Hauling Timber on the West Coast | McFadyens Transport
Earlier this year, I travelled to the West Coast of Scotland to spend time with McFadyens Transport, running on one of their timber hauls from a remote forest to the docks. See the challenging conditions these guys are up against and the incredible scenery in what is one of my favourite projects yet!!

Soil Stockpiling in a Quarry | Takeuchi TB290 | Timelapse Video
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
Using a Takeuchi TB290 in a quarry to build up soil into a stockpile. This is a really great machine that unfortunately I didn't get the chance to film a review on this time, but it was fast, comfortable, really powerful with those dual rams on the boom, and just overall a very enjoyable machine to operate. Welcome back to the channel! In this video, you see me working at my school site where we are finishing the services that supply the building at the rear. These were hard to access and had limited visibility due to the angle we were working at. The 10 tonne JCB did an excellent job as the visibility from the cab is great for a machine of this class. great video
Hii ben how are you
Great video mate, you take some great shots,
Much appreciated Mark!!
This video help me to understand and operate a machine
Lovely smooth operating skills there ben 👍
Tidy work mate. Ive done six tickets now at Staffordshire operator training and cant recommend them highly enough! Frank, Ben and the lads are all great teachers, showing little hints and tips to help in the real world too aswel, i wouldnt go anywhere else 👍👍
Great work, you and Olliegun are only decent videos of 26u. I'm looking at 1 or a Kubota at same price or CAT 4k more. Would you choose a Hitachi or consider the other options given changes in technology?
Excellent mate 👍
Hey ben how much did the wheeled excavator ticket cost? Is it cpcs or npors?
How do I turn it on I have it I turn the key to start and nothing happens it’s got a fob on it so is there some kind of immobiliser?
I passed my duck on that very machine! It was spanking new, In for my dumper next week. Good guys !
bro how to replace boucket, where is the button? 😮
Popracował bym na takiej 😊❤
Jo tyż! 20 lat na kop ład wajchy.... Dżojstiki była by bajka....ehhhh
Hello, I have the driving license for this machine, I want you to help me find a job
Hi Ben. I'm thinking of getting one of these. 2015, 2500 hours, £10800. Not from a dealer so no warranty. Do you thinkni could do better with another brand?
Hi Julian. I’m not mega familiar with prices on minis these days. I’m yet to do a video on it but i’m on earthmoving jobs now so totally different machines to what i’m used to on the minis! There’s a group on facebook i’m in called the 8 tonne and below plant group. It’s choc full of advice and plenty of people who will give you a better answer than i can 😁
@@bentheop Thanks.I'll joint that group.
Soil heap to close to trench ?
Pretty good, impressive for a young lad,Me I'd be rubbish with me coordination..🙈
How do I release attachments from the steel wrist. Have one at work and can’t get it.
Hi Ben. Can you do a video where you show more of the controls on the bucket release. We have one for work but we’re having trouble disconnecting. If you could do a step by step showing the buttons that would be awesome. Thanks
What is the machine seriously like off road. I am considering the hydradig for mainly clearance, farmland, woodlands using tree shears, grapple etc. And how far would you travel to a job site before using transport? Great informative video by the way.
Hey Andy thanks for the comment. I've taken the hydradig in some very boggy and wet situations and haven't gotten stuck once. Ground clearance admittedly is not quite as good as a conventional wheeled machine because the engine on hydradigs is under the cab as seen in the video however this does have it's benefits too. In terms of roading i guess it depends on your area. The engine is basically a loadall engine I believe so it'll be decent on fuel. Have you considered talking to your local dealer for a demo? They really are unique to any other duck on the market so I think that would be your best bet to get a feel for the machine. Hope that helps :)
@@bentheop I hadn’t thought of the clearance to the ground, good point. Yes I’ll be speaking to a dealer. What’s the furthest you’d drive the machine to the job site? Thanks
Hi Ben, have you had a. Han e to drive the new doosan DX85R? Also I seen one of these machines leaving barrow in Furness last week looked a very nice well bit of kit. I think it was a pot hole repair setup 😊
Hi There, no I've never actually driven a Doosan machine! They aren't very common where I am based, couldn't actually say the last time I saw one.
1:12 not far off of today's design
it looked so nice before sad to see it go but out with the old in with the new :D

Fantastic place to learn you plant tickets top quality staff
Indeed! They’re brilliant
Very good ben
Nice bro Keep it up

Where's the talking? Be nice to explain what you're up to for us viewers
Thought i'd do one with some peace and quiet for a change!! 😆😆
I love you, you're a hard-working guy.
jcb ... serieusement ? au secours !
👍실력이 대단하네요
Nice one Ben, good job that
Cheers Ollie!
Great video and fab work Ben!
Thanks!!
26:46 you missed a spot mate!
Might need a bigger machine for that 🤔😆
Great job 👏🏻
Thank you!!
Who is the guy in the overalls scratching around like a chicken?
That’s the customer who was very kindly helping out. Saved me a lot of getting on and off the machine sorting through the soil for bricks and concrete.
How do you like icb x series
Love the X series, really big development from the older JS series machines. Cab's are super super quiet on them, so much so you can barely hear the engine if the fan and radio is on.
@@bentheop how do you comper them to cat ...
@@g.g4816 Never operated a CAT however I've seen them at trade shows and on TH-cam :)

Hi Ben Did you have any experience before you did your 360 course?
Yes, at least 10 years on and around machines. Was 16 when I did my CPCS in the other video so had just been gaining more and more experience up to that point.
that's who/where i did mine with, they put you on the Komatsu 210 yet??
Haha yes had a little go on it. Been back plenty of times for other machines too! Check out my Hydradig video where i reviewed their machine.
I'm Korean. I have been interested in jcb excavators since the old days. I was able to know various functions by watching this video I would like to know what the price is 설명 감사합니다
Fantastic job! Great skills on the 19U!
Thank you! Very happy with the machine.
Fantastic review Ben! They are a great machine 😁
They are, nicely designed for hire work too.
전 한국사람입니다. 이기계가 마음에들어서 가격이 궁금하네요 ❤
Thanks for a Good Video Regards J.
Congrats on your first job, well done!
Thank you!! :)
Great job. Love watching your channel grow
Appreciate it! :)
Shame these only came out after I had stop operating plant, I always thought these looked a decent bit of kit. Used to drive ducks a lot and loved them. Although a 3cx would take some beating I think.
Hi William, yeah these are fantastic pieces of kit. And you’re very right, backhoes are hard to beat. I think it comes down to these machines having jobs which suit them best. It’s really hard to compare them. Although they aren’t massively far off price wise, the jobs they can do vary a lot. The hydradig really excels in certain areas which is why adaptations like the Pothole Pro have come in. But then the backhoe is perfect for individual operators, which is why you see so many owned by small companies or even just individuals.
That was quite impressive! How much more productive is it compared to the normal method?
It's night and day! The machine can get your average sized pothole cut, cropped, and cleaned in literally a few minutes. Without any power tools, jackhammers, etc needed. Plus it leaves a perfectly square cut. For larger patches the planer is fairly quick to go over roads with. The sweeper on the tiltrotator is what makes all the difference. It's a hell of a lot quicker than a brush and wheel barrow. Lads can come in with the tarmac and lay it directly into the perfectly cleaned hole, the operation is just so much quicker.
@@bentheop Oh, this was previously done by hand? I thought this just replaced a mini/midi with a tiltrotator and planer / cutting wheel / brush set-up. Yeah, massive gains when you automate it.
@@ConstructionChannelLuxembourg Yes for many potholes it is done by hand. You'd use a stihl saw, breaker, and shovel. So much quicker this was as the machine can drive itself to jobs on and off road at up to 40kph
@@bentheop In Australia they put these attachments on skid loaders and do the same thing thing. They call them profilers and and a broom bucket , the guys that lay the asphalt tow them around on a big trailer behind their asphalt trucks
