  • Tonight I'm out with Stoke City Council on their JCB Pothole Pro. This incredible machine is able to cut, crop, and clean all in one. Allowing for a tarmac gang to come and fill the prepared hole just moments after! Check it out!

That was quite impressive! How much more productive is it compared to the normal method?

It's night and day! The machine can get your average sized pothole cut, cropped, and cleaned in literally a few minutes. Without any power tools, jackhammers, etc needed. Plus it leaves a perfectly square cut. For larger patches the planer is fairly quick to go over roads with. The sweeper on the tiltrotator is what makes all the difference. It's a hell of a lot quicker than a brush and wheel barrow. Lads can come in with the tarmac and lay it directly into the perfectly cleaned hole, the operation is just so much quicker.

@@bentheop Oh, this was previously done by hand? I thought this just replaced a mini/midi with a tiltrotator and planer / cutting wheel / brush set-up.
Yeah, massive gains when you automate it.

@@ConstructionChannelLuxembourg Yes for many potholes it is done by hand. You'd use a stihl saw, breaker, and shovel. So much quicker this was as the machine can drive itself to jobs on and off road at up to 40kph

@@bentheop In Australia they put these attachments on skid loaders and do the same thing thing. They call them profilers and and a broom bucket , the guys that lay the asphalt tow them around on a big trailer behind their asphalt trucks
