Okay. I HATED the self damage beasts and I never even once played beasts the whole time they were in. Now? Beasts will be my favorite comp. I'm all in on beetles. Thank you Blizz. Gem Rat and Hogrider also looks fun

Salty Hog - Seems weak for a pure Quilboar build since it doesn't play or buff blood gems. It could be interesting for pirates if APM is back since it all of the shop cycling could making trippling more feasible. It could also make for a good minion n a larger menagerie build since it buffs indiscriminately. Salty Looter + Peggy in a menagerie could be fun (if she stays around). Bettles - I'm not sold on it. Feels too much like the Undead Army mechanic. One battlecry, deathrattle, and avenge minion to increase the buff, just like undead.

The Beastles feel more like undead playstyle than beasts, I'm also surprised there wasn't a t6 'if you summon a beetle that doesn't fit do X' card. Just looking at the cards it feels like they are missing a late game payoff

Ok beetles are beasts i will argue, but at the and time it does definitely seem like they were going to make an insect tribe then we're like "eh fuck it"

It seems to me that "Beetles" also consider the units that proc the bonus stats themselves, looking at their design, and doesn't just apply to the 2/2 beetles they summon. Looks to be very interesting and im sure someone will find a way to make these guys a pretty strong archetype I also quite like the enthusiasm you have for this game mode! You seem very invested and give very great feedback as a content creator for Battlegrounds and I am loving the vibes you give off. I am hoping you can continue growing as your videos are very good and I wish you the best of luck with becoming an official partnered content creator, you are truly underrated and you deserve support with the effort you put into your content.

These tokens are a disgusting form of microtransaction, I'm not against them having microtransactions but this is just icky and gross, like in an FPS being able to do a "basic reload" or pay a tiny amount for the "ULTRA RELOAD" that does a small amount of extra damage each clip. "its a cheap microtransaction!" "The extra damage barely does anything!!" I don't care it's gross and it pains me to see them taking this route

Salty Hog isn't 3 times per turn the "(3 left)" is a countdown. That means the count continues across turns and there is no limit.

I asked google if insects were beasts and this is what it said: Yes, insects are considered animals. They are part of the kingdom Animalia, which includes all animals on Earth. Insects are also considered wildlife.

Beetles are considered beasts in WoW, as are any other creatures that are tameable by the Hunter class, which is most definitely why they were put into the Beast category instead of getting their own! Thanks for the good content!

In the main HS game insects and spiders are considered beasts. I do agree it feels a bit weird from a flavor perspective.

Demons are one of the strongest tribes. Why did they buff the bat? Nagas are still very weak, they gain stats too slowly. And they require too much luck to get together into something at least playable. In the current meta, it would not be a problem to bring back Shellemental.

In warcraft there is a beetle.race called the silithid, who are actually considered beasts. I'm guessing that's how they're playing it with this

Why do you doubt that beetles are beasts? We always had insects as beasts in hearthstone and there few of them in BG. Currently in game we have Sprightly Scarab. In the past we had: Maexxna, Silithid Burrower, Spider summoned by infested wolf

Its possible they were going to do this insect tribe aligned with the emerald dream expansion, which an interview revealed was pushed back so as to not line up with WoW and confuse people (why thats a problem I have no clue). Then I guess they decided they cant have things not aligned with standard which also makes no sense?

Critter wrangler is nice early game in quilboars when you haven’t managed to scale much yet

Pretty sure you got effect for Gem Rat wrong. Instead of getting leg day or arm day, you get the "Gem Day" spell that lets you choose.

Curious about Crystal Infuser. So the choose one effect would be considered a buff correct? So does that mean if you pick Deathrattle when you play it and then triple it picking deathrattle again would you have both deathrattles?

QB and Beast day! Let’s see what’s going on. Tough Tusk is LEAVING? HUH?? I wonder what’s coming in its place. Jazzer and Piper both leaving too? Dang. Mangled Bandit and Snarling Conductor were fun, but I’ll miss them quite a lot. Hot-Air Surveyor and Transmuted Bramblewitch are departing! A tragic day for Quillboars. Good riddance, Aggem Thorncurse and Bristlebach. I won’t miss you. Sun-Bacon Relaxer can actually RELAX for once! Awesome buff. Bristling Buffoon down earlier is nice, same with Bannerboar and Fearless Foodie. Crater Miner is strange, but pretty flexible! Crystal Infuser is even MORE flexible!! Gem Rat’s flexibility is really cool, nothing more than half a Pokey. Gem Day is even a Tavern spell synergy! Boar Gamer is a fun pun. Cool effect, too! Thorned Trailblazer seems to tell me a Choose One build might become a thing. How good is it? Not easy to tell. Salty Hog is a welcome card for APM builds! Dual tribe means you can keep it and Tethys (assuming it’s sticking around for next season) on the board at the same time! Turbo Hogrider, a Quillboar on a motorcycle, supporting cycle playstyles is pristine flavor choice. Props to the dev team. I CALLED THE DEPARTURE OF SILVER GOOSE! Damage build is leaving? Dang. Irate Rooster, Rampager, Trigore the Lasher, Iridescent Skyblazer, Spiked Savior… all gone! Octosari, Wrap God was fun to play with. I’ll miss him a lot. Welcome back, Hungry Snapjaw. Indeed a great early start. Niuzao is back! Beast gets a Goodwill Obsidian Ravager! It’s still really fun to play, though, don’t get me wrong. Buzzing Vermin and Boon of Beetles tells me Token Beasts is back and better than ever. Can’t wait to see it in action. Forest Rover supplements the build and gives an AURA? That already sounds amazing. I wonder if there’s a Beast build that will use this with Brann, Drakkari, and Murk-Eye… Turquoise Skitterer will be fun with N’Zoth, I’m calling it now. Nest Swarmer tells me you gotta scale your Beasts well enough if you want to even approach a quality placement. Hopefully Runed Progenitor can catch you up if you’re trying to pivot from a different token build!

I think Battlegrounds originally had beasts=mammals. But since beasts aren’t a real biological term, they can add beetles and say they are beasts.

Boars look interesting and quite fun actually. I think will be maybe a bit too strong

vis a vis your point that beetles dont reqlly feel like beasts -- bugs *are* animals, and spiders and scarabs and shit historically have been in the beast tribe in both hearthstone and wow. what *is* weird is that they're going this hard on the new archetype -- i frankly wonder if this was motivated to some degree by the upcoming starcraft crossover
