Looking back, I think we should've stayed in Afghanistan, because having only 2,500 troops is like nothing compared to the amount of troops we have in Germany and Korea. We weren't even doing really engaged in combat anymore in the last few years we were there, the Afghan National Army was doing the combat, while we were doing air support and intelligence.

From grannies Knitting Club to SOF, having shitting rights, being special, is big. But having as many 'special' guys as possible, as many extra trained up, and challenged as possible is a force multiplier. No a Ranger Tab does not a Ranger make. But, guys with a tab are bit better prepped, and psyched than if they didn't have that extra training and personal challenging. US forces have out shot, out soldiered 99.999% of forces they've gone up against. But unless we unlock Infinite Health, Infinite Ammo, X Bonus Level Up points, the total number of friend/foe forces will always matter. And, again, the more bodies with a bit more training and self challenging the better.

Doing a guest jump with 2nd TSB inside 2nd Recon’s hootch as an 0311, it was explained to me in simpler terms. BN is JV. Force is Varsity.

I was with 2nd force recon, no big deal, nothing spectacular, I use to do their travel, pay and reporting orders, oh and their leave paperwork. I pulled more weight than the corpsman. I was thier God.

5:32 - That was my V22 unit. I knew the crew that grabbed him very well. Due to intelligence failures, I was detached with much of the unit and supporting continued Marjah operations in Afghanistan. POGs don’t get mentioned in these sort of conversations often.

Its easy Recon Marines are led by Clint Eastward and invaded Grenada where as Force Recon took a load of hostages on Alcatraz and threatened to fire VX gas warheads in to San Fransisco until James Bond killed them one by one.

The big difference is hat the Recon Marines only have one PIO reporter per platoon and the Force Recon Marines have one per squad plus one attached to platoon HQ.
