I completely butchered this video and contemplated even posting it. To start with I forgot my timelapse memory card in my computer and then to top it off half the footage was corrupted, I guess from swapping cameras so much? I really don't know. When it rains it pours lol. Sorry for the lack of preparedness. Really just posted for context of the job for the next few pours..

Forming A Concrete Approach With A Sidewalk Still Getting Use To Forming Videos
มุมมอง 1.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Let me start by saying filming a pour and finish or a pump job is much easier than form jobs lol. I plan on going ahead and getting a third camera basically just for form jobs to get multiple angles while forming without having to constantly move the camera while working. Sorry the camera died, thats my fault. Hopefully I get better as time goes on, enjoy!! Pump and Finish job coming Wednesday!

Where did you guys go? I need more videos!!!!!
Saludos mk hermano
you should work on edging 6-7 feet and then trowel it out, bend down and not on your knees. just a tip
Its not setting up because there is a vapor barrier beneath it. The water has no place to go except up. Any time we pour over vapor barrier we put 2 inches of sand on top.
The video says how to finish a concrete slab with one guy, not pour with one guy so the math is actually right
🤦♂️
GOOD JOB OVERALL NICE SKILLS WITH THE RAKE MAN I LIKE THE SPEED.
That’s a 6 inch slump all day
Not to mention, you have a front end load concrete truck that right there saves a guy
I’ve done concrete for 40 years done many buildings like this it’s a key way for the metal building to sit down in three things. I would do put a lot of great steaks make sure the slump is it a seven and plenty of beer for the end of the day after cat walking everything
What are you priming with?
I prime with masonry cement now. May have been slick packs in this video.
You guys forgot to pull the wire 😢 wp.
One word. Bentonite. Also… might try sucking a ball back to the hopper in situations like this
1+1+1=3 . . .
mason logo....lol
My god that’s a great mix!
That’s a sweet 2” line pump mix! I’m in Kentucky and I’m having trouble convincing these ready mix plants to dial the rock back and only use pea gravel
Wow, I’m learning so much from your channel , thank you!! Also had a question, when you unclamp and remove a hose, do you put the machine in reverse mode ? Before you remove a hose ?
That's 3 guys...that's a one man job for placing and finishing.
Nice work! I did a garage floor with a two foot frost wall in one pour. It was about 10 x 20. 6 yards just me and the concrete truck driver but he was cool. My forms were good so it was like filling a upside down bathtub. I had a good book called Masonry and Concrete Work by Max Alth. I have done two more since. All in cooler weather so that bought me some time with the finish work.
I see three guys, not one guy. Some more of that ‘fuzzy’ math.
They should of used a volumetric truck... mix as you pour..
Where we are located I have never seen a volumetric truck. Not very popular in arkansas.
@@graysconcrete135 I wonder why... there are areas in Oregon that we head to, that is 80+ miles from are loading yards, these contractors love our fresh mud...
On my last float pass I like to spin my blades real fast to bring up cream to the surface then go real slow to burn all the cement will bet on top
Молодцы👍 Успехов вам в этом нелёгком деле🖐️
God front loading mixers are so ugly.
pump it pump it
That's 3 guys. The most I've done by myself in one day and I mean all by myself was a 13 yard patio with 2 steps all seamless Roman Slate texture stamped with borders and bands. Only me.
😂 was that in a dream ? Or what slump was the concrete? Or what were you on?
That's the 1st thing I thought when I saw the video...this video is like clickbait. I've poured lots of these all by myself...no help, only me. I've poured lots of large areas of concrete alone...if patios, I always get a line pump for fast placing. Some guys don't know how to work with concrete...meaning fast and efficient. Stay strong brother.
Make more videos
Been there before seems like any thing poured 4 pm or later with a trowel finish goes into the wee hours. Had one commercial job with many side walks and patio`s ,we would pour about 9 am and couldn`t even dream about finishing anything until midnight. Due to specs on the job the engineer tried to make new recipe`s to no avail and it was july.
Congratulations on the baby! Hope all is well. Ready to see some more videos
the more you beat it the more it packs up
Just curious where you at been you have not posted a video in quite a while I was enjoying your videos
Should be posting again soon. Wife and I had our first kid and after work I don't have enough time to edit and hangout with my kid so I took some time off from videoing.
did u quit youtube? jw
Recently had a baby and editing just takes up too much time after working all day and i really don't want to miss this newborn stage lol. I'll probably be back in a few weeks. Just trying to balance between work and family at the moment.
@@graysconcrete135 I get it, congrats buddy
Such bullshit when they do this just stop the driver before hand
👍
next vid???🥲
How about pulling the wire up
Nice another comment telling a pump operator to do another man's job for free. That's on the finisher to do his job not me. I drove two hours to operate a concrete pump not pull wire for someone who is getting paid to do it bud
👍New subscriber from Davenport Iowa
I'm kinda lost why is there so much water down there? Everything seams really wet (not the mud) the floor. West coast would have dragged that all hose by his self lol jk 😜 good video and happy 🐣 easter
I think they had just recently cut the concrete is why it was so wet. And yeah on jobs like this where they're basically renting the pump for a service I typically don't touch the hose I was just being generous this day lol. On my own jobs the hose are all me lol. With so many twist and turns someone has to keep an eye on the hose to make sure they aren't kinked.
@@graysconcrete135 I understand 👍
It’s not that they don’t want to help move the lines it’s just that they don’t understand you next try calling the amigo to get their attention
it would be nice to have a line pump around where I come from, mainly just use a pump truck or wheel it. no matter what its hard work. good job
Glad to see a video from the actual site. This building use to be the old jail. This is in Monticello Arkansas and the concrete company is called Select Concrete.
Wow this is on the square in Monticello Arkansas we pass by this going towards my house. We are based in Monticello Arkansas. This building is also an old post office
Good afternoon. Keep it up. Great video
Thanks for the shout out from all of us here at Select concrete! 👍
What do the employees do when y’all are out pumping?
We don't have any employees. It's just me and my dad. On our big pours we just call two guys we know that kinda do their own thing. But for the most part we can handle everything else!
That goes doesn’t know how to kick and screed lol… he kicks the same spot like 5 times lol
Mud was dry and he was kicking up hill and it kept falling back. He knows how to screed. I'd rather him kick 5 times then leave it low.
another one bites the dust
That's a nice really nice lil check cha ching baby
Good work bro. Do you spray any sealer after the pour?
