@@Fluffyloafofbread that's certainly one way of putting it LOL. but on a serious note, i think it's the extreme taboo of this song that made its message and emotions so clear to me. nashimoto has a real talent with gritty, sometimes disturbingly ominous, yet deeply human themes. i still have plans to release translyrics for his newest album, but they're on hold for the immediate time being

it's... technically in the works. i bought the fauxlyrics.com domain name a few months ago, and i'd like to get to work on it soon. my biggest priorities right now are work on my next upload (tokenainamae song that's very wordy (!) and the first one of theirs i ever listened to) and pushing my editing further. that said, i've been meaning to make a basic blog-type site with all the videos and translyrics, and the work on that is planned to start next week (thank you also, it's heartening to know people care about the lyrics. i'm sometimes unsure of the extent to which my lyrics are relevant to people, but this is good)

@@oriana5979 please don't be nervous! if it's about it sounding right, i've been in your shoes and made covers when my voice wasn't quite there yet. these are no longer public, but i still deeply value them since it was me doing something i loved. what others think does not matter as long as you love what you do. for an instrumental version, if you want to use the same instrumental as the original i would find the highest quality of this song in the form of a wav or FLAC file (i adviss against converting this video to mp3 as youtube compresses audio in the process), then use an AI instrumental splitter to separate the vocals from the instrumental- there are several free ones online. but there's also a discord server for nashimoto fans- perhaps you could see if someone there would be willing with an alternative instrumental? both choices are great starts, and i'm excited regardless of which it is. good luck! i'm rooting for you

thank you very much, i wasnt sure the fauxlyrics would work but that line came to me as a eureka moment. i wanted to explore the perspective of loss and the impermanence of all things save for the shadow from the singer's perspective i am indeed back also. there are two songs off this ep i am more than sure i want to work on- the first and the last. already started working on the lyrics for the former. ixtab is a very raw (and oft bleak) piece of music as a whole and i have lots of ideas on how to keep the editing growing. thank you for your support, my rule for lyrics whether translyrics or fauxlyrics is that they must hit hard so im happy it worked for you

@@Professor_Moji good question and one i think if you want the best answer you'd have to ask tokenainamae directly on instagram. that said, the context of this song seems to me like it's singing to/about someone who's incredibly unique and special, but reminiscent of that calpis drink the song is titled after. it's a fermented milky drink that is popular in japan, with a slightly acidic taste. if i had to hazard a guess, id say its likely the singer is reminiscing on someone they've known since childhood from the way the original lyrics go. someone that is well-loved despite their weird quirks, despite the distance those create maybe? again though, this is my interpretation. i put more detail in the description and pinned comment about the subtler nuances, but i think tokenainamae's songs are abstract on purpose. their songs' lyrical structures as well as the language they use heavily suggest this. the band also told me (they posted this video to their instagram reel and i reached out) that the lyrics have a considerable emphasis on how they sound if that makes sense. japanese is an incredibly musical language. the ending, both original and my interpretation, suggest nostalgia is a central piece of this song. tokenainamae often revisit themes of past longings and longing for the past this might leave you with more questions than you initially had, but it's by interpreting their songs more and more that i reach a better understanding beyond what they mean to me. so my guess is only slightly better than yours. i hope this gives you some sort of answer though
