(yes i'm answering all your comments) this one was a request, and i tried to keep it simple. how one writes translyrics must rely in great part not just on the artist, but also and above all the song. my translyrics tend to be... bleaker, so i'm happy some of my lighter ones are still well-loved. thank you again

@@estadosdeanimo thank you very much. i really wasn't sure if people would like the video at first, it was a very big artistic leap in terms of how i conceived the lyrics and the video alike. to answer your question without descending into several paragraphs, the fauxlyrics are entirely from me. this was their second iteration in my work. the challenge i set myself is writing lyrics that sound good with the timbre, melody and rhythm of a specific instrumental part (here it's both the low-pitched pluck and the guitar chords) while also exploring the emotional landscape of the song as i perceive it. there's a lot more to it, but i'd rather let fauxlyrics be self-defining if that makes sense, so the former description is just about the notion in a broad sense

@@YumeMiteru thank you noko! i really like hearing about what the songs and the lyrics evoke to people. this song definitely feels dreamlike, although through my hundreds of listens it started feeling more ritualistic. not a religious ritual, but moreso one of rememberance. it's hard to put the feeling in words (and words is what i do! the irony!), but i think you have an idea of what i'm referring to from the engagement with the lyrics you've described as for your request, i've never heard of 凛として時雨 actually, but i'll give them a try. reading about the album you recommended, it seems like it's a debut album, and i love working with artists' early pieces since i think this is where the emotional fundamentals of their art shine the brightest. i can't make promises, but i do take requests seriously- it's a challenge to work on songs i haven't chosen, and i had lots of fun with my last requested upload (virgin suicide by uchuu nekoko). so i'll give them a good listen and add them to the list! i appreciate the no pressure disclaimer also. doing requests is my way to show people who enjoy what i do that i care, even if it's rarer than frequent. there is beauty in giving like that. this got long, so thank you again for your support! it's enriching to hear about how the lyrics felt right from new viewers

thank you joel! for the fauxlyrics, it started with the hook "there she comes, my beloved midsummer god of death". i knew i wanted to use the song's title and it was a perfect rhythmic match. i also wanted to have some contrast with the summerly sun's imagery, so the next piece was "starlight lingers alone". that line goes very well with the bass' timbre and the overall mood & movement of the song. then for the end of the song, i morphed "lingers alone" to "lingered above" to explore the past, when the narrator/singer's lover was still alive. there's a lot more to say but i want to keep this concise- all this to say the fauxlyrics had more work and thought put in than ever before, so i'm really glad you liked them and that they fit! as for the instrumental, to me this and ixtab are the core of my dead girlfriend's music. speaking of ixtab's last track, i'm still thinking of how i'd write them. so maybe it'll be next!

("i'll never forget days spent with you" was another version i came up with near the end of the editing, i wanted to give viewers an option to emulate the "hanare nare" sound and it also helps w adding depth. but "how am i to just let go of you" sounded really good to me the more i sang the song. more lore coming soon!!!)

hmm... the norm of occidental reading direction? unless you're referring to the narrative structure for the fauxlyrics (where i decided to put the beginning at the end to really put the whole thing together and hopefully it makes the lyrics realer to people) i have no idea what you're referring to :o for the 2 voices, it really depends - for "your reverie's renewed", it just felt like a better and prettier way to express what the song is trying to say, but i added it near the end after several days of contemplation while i edited. - for "i'll never forget days spent with you", that served a few purposes. first, "i'll never forget" echoes the melodic alliterative sound of "hanare nare", but more importantly it helps with the ALL CAPS LYRICS at chorus 2. incidentally this is the part with the highest engagement rate i am touched - i'll let those ALL CAPS LYRICS speak for themselves désolé d'abord pour ta toux et bon rétablissement (mais j'apprécie l'analogie)! j'essaie de faire attention à ne pas trop en faire pour la vidéo en tant que telle. je crois que l'editing ne doit que contribuer à la chanson, ça ajoute une dimension. 117 french speaking only lore: originalement, j'ai décidé d'apprendre à animer des vidéos car je voulais vraiment faire une vidéo sur "imawanokiwa" par iyowa. c'était mon rêve et mon plus gros défi, j'ai facilement passé une cinquantaine d'heures sur la rédaction. mais j'essaie aussi toujours de faire au moins quelque chose de nouveau chaque vidéo et cette fois c'était le niveau d'editing THANK YOU also! happy to get boris' seal of approval! it's a certified classic now. i'm really happy about engagement rate being seemingly high at 3:16 but maybe it's just the really dedicated people

@@RadicalSharkRS kinda! but it's also quite different. tokenainamae and my dead girlfriend have played at shows together. i think of tokenainamae very differently than i do of my dead girlfriend, writing these gives me a lot of deeper insights into the artist's music here i go ranting again though. i'm happy to confirm i've finished the translyrics (and fauxlyrics) of watashi no aishita manatsu no shinigami + editing started. all i can say is it will be my best video hopefully

this song really grew on me. conception for three forms of underdrawing at the state of unhappiness and my piggish girl died miserably are my favorite my dead girlfriend songs, but shadow where it doesn't disappear really captures a lot of what i see and feel when i write these lyrics for their songs + yeah nobody talks about it but i also look at metrics (not a factor for what i upload, i stick to what i like) and the song is definitely gaining in popularity, as is most of ixtab. its been a long time coming

@@areauxDlite i'm working on watashi no aishita manatsu no shinigami, the biggest bottleneck rn is editing since i want to move to a 4:3 format as a majority of views on these come from mobile devices + i think it'll look better overall and that takes planning. but soon hopefully! my next upload will definitely be my dead girlfriend (+ i have something special planned for my piggish girl died miserably)
