DiamondBack Nozzle How Much Better Is it Tested

Recently purchased a DiamondBack Nozzle and thought a detailed test video would be a great start due to a lack of back to back testing information out there. Great video. I’m using the e3d diamondback in one of my X1Cs and I’ve found the temps need to be quite a bit lower than the steel nozzles to get the same bridging and overhang performance. I like this nozzle tech quite a bit.

Awesome Video!!! I have replaced my CR-10 with a P1S, as a result, my CR-10 will become a laser engraver/cutter. I do have a couple of questions... Do you have to worry about that honeycomb matt sliding around on the bed? Have you had any issues with the Z screw creeping down? Have you tried cutting anything with it yet?

One of the most helpful videos I've watched on 3D printing. I just picked up my K1 Max a few weeks ago and was starting to think about trying out TPU on it and then realized it would need to be top fed. The spool holder model is genius! The settings you provided also worked beautifully, except I lowered the printing temp for my particular TPU.
@@gafines thank you.
Great vid. Thank you. I thought you were going to cut stuff, because, you know, the video title says "3D Printer that can cut stuff?" I mean we know it can engrave but I was wanting to see how it actually cuts something. Thanks for the effort though.
@@jusam6854 I plan on doing some more videos on it soon. Shortly after this video we ended up purchasing a new house and haven't had a whole lot of time to make some more videos. (Garage is still a mess from the move and setting things up).

@@zee7056 reduced dramatically and slowed the retraction down allot also. I have found this to be slightly different on different tpus. So do recommend a retraction tower with each type of TPU you print with.
Awesome video. Looking to improve my TPU prints so I will try some of these settings. Just wondering, what do you do for cooling? Especially for for small parts that have short layer times or parts that have overhangs.
TPU Generally is slow enough you don't need to worry about layer time that much. I set it around 5s min layer time. Fan speed i leave on default and turn off aux fan

Interesting. I will try leveling mine again and see if that helps. Thanks.
Good update. Mine puts a scratch in the bed at the rear of the plate when cleaning the nozzle each print. Does yours? And is it getting deeper? Thanks.
@@lsj624 negative mine does it slightly above the plate the same way my k1 max does it. I do run the firmware (from the touchscreen) bed leveling every couple weeks and of course after every update.
You really thru me off, calling the R3D filament "RED". But, I did give you a like and sub. anyway. Would have liked to see where the springs you removed were at, also.
Was my first video so far from perfect lol. Still getting better as i go. New episodes are coming slow getting the new house setup and figuring out a good studio type setup. I cant add photos here. but if you remove the printhead cover at the top on the printhead youll see two screw holes that line up with the upper rod (also holds the wiring loom holder) When you remove those two screws and move the loom holder that will expose the two screws. My V3 is extremely loud, especially the 2510 ball bearing hotend fan.
If you're comparing to a old style slow printer yes they are very loud machines to be able to keep up with the flow rates. It is quite a bit quieter then my K1M tho. Not many options to quiet these machines down without having to drop print speeds.
@@JATdesign Yes, you're right.
I have a normal K1 and it seems like my printer has a hard time gripping the filament. When I just tell it to extrude it seems to not be able to have it flow smoothly.
I tried to print tpu on my k1 max and it seemed to start ok but then gets jammed up. I could potentially see the reason why he feeds directly from above avoiding any friction
correct if you run through a ptfe tube It will not print
Ah just saw the other videos, they were not in the playlist
I just ordered the same kit. How is your built going so far?
Build is nearly done, I did skip the video process during electronics stuff as i have a lot of addons not standard with the kit, with this being a new version of the board and printhead board there was a lot of research time involved. I will have a finished video next week. I have it finished and prints done on it, just need to finish up the tophat.
Hello. It Is the ender 3 V3 a 3D printer a good machine for a person who is just starting with 3D printers ???
Mine has been great. Am currently at a little over 600 hours and haven't needed to do anything to the machine. It is pretty well self leveling etc. It would be a very easy machine to start with and would not have a problem recommending it to someone new to printing.
I really want and need to get this dryer but it's going to be a few months because I am currently trying to save up enough money to buy the Qidi Tech Q1 pro 3d printer. I am disabled and can't work anymore so I live on a very fixed income and it takes me a really long time to save up enough to buy anything
It is so much nicer then my old single filament dryer definitely worth a purchase if it fits your needs. If you don't have 3+ printers I don't know if necessarily recommend this one as there is many dual roll dryers out there that cost about 60% as much and work as well
They included the extensions because the stop plugs are kind of a pain. It just makes for easier quick changeover.
I got some 85A tpu and i cant seem to load it... i can only push it in so far. when i can't go any further and try to lock the extruder, i can pull it right out. I sat there for a good while trying to get it to catch but didnt have any luck. Its like trying to load cooked spaghetti. Ill have to try some 95A. I was really hoping to print some really soft stuff but i dont think there's any way to get it loaded and even if there was, i would be afraid of jamming the printer on the way out.
You should be able to load 85a. Lock the extruder and slowly feed the filament in while it is moving the extruder gears. It should catch and feed normally.
@JATdesign that totally worked 😅 thank you! Excited to finally try out some TPU!

Just wondering you said these are 260mm x 260mm and wont fit on any Bambu Printer. Doesn't the Bambu x1 carbon have a 265x265 print area?
All Bambu machines except the a1 mini have a 256mm volume
@@JATdesignI wonder if it could be shrunk down a little. Only talking about 1/4 right?
@@popsfoodboat4941 the design is pretty minimal to start with. With some spools already basically dragging on the bottom and larger spools coming quite close to the top. Scaling would also affect the fitment of the slides and the screw holes as that is not a variable item. Not to say you couldn't split the stand in half and rejoin them but it would need reinforcement if you started stacking more then a few high.
I’m having problems with my extractor printing tpu
I can try to help. What durometer? Did you follow all the steps in the video? What problems is it having?
I'm going to need a setup video... Do you crawl under your desk? Some kind of hinge thing? SECRET TUNNEL?
Haha yes currently living in a duplex with very limited space. Racing sim rig is under this table in the corner of my living room with 5 printers on top this inner corner is basically all I have for a "studio". Basically just making due with that I have. Bright side is we bought a house so over the next couple months this will evolve into a much friendlier space. If you check out the filament drawer video it has a better shot of my current layout I'm working with.
thank you for video! very helpful
Thank you very much.
I got this machine one week ago and only put in roughly 20 hours of work. My complaint for now is regarding the presets for it. Orca slicer doesn't have it, and the creality print has some bad ones... I manually tailored a preset for regular PETG (I need to get rid of the old material I have around), and the results turned out perfectly. I believe the overall performance will be much better when orca adds support for it.
I agree. I've thought about porting in my own profiles for it into orca (pretty easy). But as for PLA/petg setting so far via Creality slicer I haven't needed to adjust much. Even printing tpu results have been quite good. (Tho I do a fair amount of changing there)
Only problems I'm having with mine is over hangs, over extrusion and supports being overly stuck to the part. I should add I am using poly lite abs and just loaded up some creality hyper abs also I have it in a enclosure pre heating it with the bed
I can't really speak for abs with this ASA I use my k1 max for all my abs work. I do know Creality and profiles are set too low for cooling abs overhangs. I would check that and ramp it up 10-20%. As for supports I am surprised by that. Normally my abs /ASA supports come off easy. Petg/PLA supports on the v3 have come off very well for me.
Have you changed any of the support settings
@JATdesign yeah kinda I'm trying tree (slim) atm I'm still playing with the settings a little bit ill try turning up fan cooling on over hangs
Hi there. Thanks for the videos. They are the reason I decided on upgrading to on Ender 3 v3. One question though. Just received the v3 and I don't appear to have the holes on the top gantry to screw ion the top spool holder that you created. The screw holes are visible on the underside of the top gantry but not on the top. Did you have to push them through by any chance?
I did not they were open and accessible out of the box on mine.
@@JATdesign will get in touch with Creality I think. Thanks for getting back to me
seems that there are different versions out in the wild as the ones being shipped now do not have the top 2 screw holes and are blanked off under the gantry. They do have 2 m3 holes on the back of the gantry though.

Hello how are you?. I'm from Argentina and I wanted to ask you if any PLA suits you or do you have to buy that plan later ultra fast?.... thank you very much.
If you're printing fast the hyper PLA or fast plas do perform slightly better. Regular PLA does print fine with a little more temperature or by slowing the print down some.
In my initial unboxing video I printed a standard wood PLA with the speed benchy file in about 13 minutes with minor defects.
It happens that in Argentina, many new products, ahem: Hyper or fast pla.... do not exist. So bringing it to the country adds an additional cost to the sale of products, and I see that they do not manufacture 4 kl rolls... that's why I asked about the common PLA if they worked well... I now use Grilon3, it is a good National brand quality..., I have 4kl coils and 1kl colored coils. I had to ask for some things from there; ahem: Bi metal barrel, upper mount to adapt the motor above the head... for the 3 ender v2 neo. I use a translator, I don't know much English.
I just got my 10w laser module on the ender 3 I've connected every thing but when I press to engrave it just homes and dose nothing else? Help if you can Thanks.
Are you hooked up to the computer or over SD? Over SD you have to use lightburn.
I didn't know you had to use light burn over SD thanks for the help!
What glue are you using? And what slicer are you using? Thank you. I have been struggling to find support for ths printer yet!
I use Amazon basics purple glue stick. I added a link to the description if you'd like. I am currently still using Creality print.
I have a question regarding using TPU/Flex PLA mixed with PETG as support because you can't feed TPU or any flex filament in the AMS and I need to feed it manually but I don't know how to do it through Bambu Studio. I had the same issue with TPU in my K1 so, I desgined an external spool wall support and I had zero issues with FLEX Pla to print the airless basketball ball but I couldn't remove easilly the support. How to do it in a Bambulab and how z height is the best to remove those supports if It needs it??
Flex pla was designed a bit more rigid than tpu, I have not personally printed with it. But my understanding is it has been blended with tpu. Which in turn increase its layer bonding by a bit. TPU with a PETG interface is harder then PETG to PLA but should still work for your intention. After slicing, you adjust the layer slider (+) button on the right to the layer where you want the change. Right click on the (+) and select Add Pause. Repeat as needed, then click Slice again. When the pause is reached, the toolhead will go back to the poop chute and wait for you to unload and reload the filament (see my earlier reply.) Then you hit Resume and it will pick up. As for your Z height when im doing pla to to petg interface layers I change it to 0 Z height and the parts pull apart perfectly with 0 signs of an overhang. But on your curved piece that would be much more difficult also specific i don't think you can pause it only for supports.
May I check if there is a way to manually set z offset before printing? My auto z seems to be scraping the bed.
If it is scraping the bed I would likely put a ticket in to Creality. I have not had any issues with my Z sensor mine is extremely sensitive to the probing process
@@JATdesign mine seems to be about 0.05 off.
@@innui100 you can adjust z offset in your slicer settings
@@JATdesign I'm using Creality Printer and can't find that setting. I can set it on the printer though.

Is that the regular interface on the screen of the K1 max or did you modded it? It doesn’t look at all like my K1.
It's a version of Klipper screen called guppy screen. Something you can do when you root the machine.
Thank you for the reply. I’ll look into it.
Would you be able to do a quick video on how to get the screen to do that?
Thanks for posting this video. Can you please share the TPU you are using? the link in the video description is sending me to PETG and not TPU. Any chance of sharing the Creality Print profile you've created? :)

Bed adheasion a problem and also the hot end clicks a lot and seems like the cpu filament is struggling to be pushed through. I noted all the settings changes in your video and applied them but still no joy. Just printing with PLA can be a bit limiting :(. Thanks for responding though
Have you tried TPU on it yet?
I have not. I have my k1 max setup for tpu but I'm not opposed to making a TPU video for this machine
Just tried tpu in the standard filament setup and how I have it. As expected Too much drag on the system and I will need to make a mount that attaches to the top of the machine similar to how the old enders do it. I will work on that likely tonight and update if I get a finished product.
Just an update on this I have the TPU spool Mount designed, test printing now then i will release the design to Maker World and Creality print. I will follow up with a test video with links to it all.
Thanks for making this! This printer is so new there isnt much content about it yet. This thing came out not too long after I had purchased an Ender 3 V2 Neo... I enjoyed the Neo, but after about 1 or 2 months of printing it just cant seem to stay working. I ordered the 3 V3 and really looking forward to not having to do any manual calibration! I also ended up picking up the camera as well. I had an octoprint server setup on an old android phone that I used to manage the Neo. Really looking forward to not having a phone on a tripod sitting next to my printer haha. A few questions for you- Do you know if I will be able to manage this printer with my octo print server? Can the app alert you when printing is finished or detects an issue? Can you manage the printer from outside your home network?
Through Creality print you can do all of that without any external apps or needs. But means this is a rootable klipper device you can do anything you can with klipper. So yes octoprint etc will work on this machine
I have the creality app alert me when finished and also monitor remotely on both my K1 max and this v3. Even tho my K1 is rooted all Creality functionality still fully works
@@JATdesign Awesome, yeah I just saw that it is rootable. I cant wait to mess with it! This will be my first experience with klipper.
@@Tristaniscool it's a significant improvement over the v2 for sure
