Join us as we explore its rich history and enjoy a captivating performance by our esteemed organist, Matthew Wehr.

do you have a new logo?
I did update it slightly. Somehow you have insider information. How do you know?
Austins are built to last. Opus 2711 IV/69 1988 was a milestone installation.
I would totally agree. Opus 2711 really shows what Austin can build and create.
@@Piping_Up We worked really hard on that instrument especially on the reeds. We wanted them French and snarly and it’s what we got. The French Horn is absolutely amazing, Manuel Rosales thought it was among the best he had ever heard.
The quality and attention to detail is definitely shown. I will have to get out there in the future and film that wonderful organ.
@@Piping_Up you won’t be disappointed!
Epic opening piece!
I've always loved this fanfare. You can't go wrong with it. Lemmens knew what he was writing for sure.
Nice hymns and views of the pipes and console
YES! YES! THE MUSIC MAN IS BACK!
Truly a beautiful instrument
Organist is awesome!
first like woooooooooooo!
Congratulations!
Hymn: How Great Thou Art
Yes, arrangement by Dan Miller
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. By the way, we actually deal with Emory Brothers.
Thank you for watching! Yes, Emery Brothers is on my list and they are not too far from our offices. I have a friend that works there. I'm hoping to film with them in the near future.
@@Piping_Up Great. Please tell Adam I said hello, and you guys are more than welcome to do a segment at my church. Just let me know. Also, I just subscribed.
Thanks for subcribing. I will keep your offer in mind as I think its a great idea. Thank you!
So grateful for companies like this, awesome!
A very impressive instrument with a good sound, played by a master.
Wowie
You’re from Qtown? So am I!
Quakertown has a lot of rich organ history. It's a good place to live.
why does the pedal not have 64' and multiple 32' reeds in the pedal? 1 digital 32' reed. A 240 rank organ should have at least that. What were they thinking?
They don't have room for a 64'. Walker doesn't have a speaker that can be that low of a frequency. There are only two organs in the world that are 64'. The Diaphone-Dulzian in Boardwalk hall, Atlantic City and the Contra-Trombone in Sydney Town Hall.
Hi there. It has a real 32’ bourdon. It did have a 32’ bombarde but it wasn’t successful because it had to be in the solo. The walker 32’s are incredibly effective and successful. A few changes will be made at some point.
They don’t know. Besides with combinations extremely huge pedal notes available. Also as a PS for the dedication in 2016 the organist name is Richard Elliott.
full organ?
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!
It's got some power!!!
First time I’ve heard how great thou art on a pipe organ and holy holy holy
And personally, my favorite version of How Great Thou Art.
Wow and great job Ben
Also, great job Ben!
The front/nave or congregation facing facades and corbels and pipe sills were removed in the 1960’s and replaced with grills and grill cloth after some modifications made under Springer in conjunction with Austin tonal director Richard Piper to the Great principal chorus. In the 1990’s we (Austin Organs, Inc.) received a phone call from the church that there were some renovations going on and that they wanted these facades back. I found the original facade and corbel drawings, gave them to the designers and Austin recreated the originals and installed them.
WELCOME to Hanover, PA bro!! This is where my family lives!!! Grew up just south of the Mason-Dixon. Very proud to call this region home, and to have heard this instrument in person. It. Is. Insane. Everyone needs to hear this thing.
It is an amazing instrument!
Wow! Ben I am so proud of you! Before you applied for the position of Minister of Music I had no idea you were so talented and gifted. You are the perfect person to follow Scott Fredericks and I am so honored that I played a part in hiring you. God's hand was definitely involved when Ardis and I moved to Hanover in 1997 and we crossed paths with such great artists as Scott, Karen Buckwalter and you!
I shared the comment with Ben.
Awesome!!!!
Outstanding video. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
EPIC!
I keep coming back here so that I can get piped up!! Thanks for doing this
The Toccata was what should be played on an organ! Just awesome!
I personally have never heard that particular toccata. I was impressed by it for sure.
She is very talented, really appreciate her playing! Love the instrument, and great video Stephen!
Man oh man can Cathy jam. She is great. Awesome video again guys
first thumbs up!!! wooooo
You're the best!
How beautiful, Darlene!!!
No Pipes in his organ.
Not in this one. This is a full digital Walker Technical Organ. You can check out how it and other organs like it were made here: th-cam.com/video/6m0OT0uP7tA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Z71XMJtAQr6la6c8
Nice! Great organ and organist!
our music man is back!!!!!
Who's playing?
The organist is Daniel Umholtz. He is the organist for Walker.
Is walker the main rival to the Allen organ co who are the inventors of the digital pipe organ?
Basically, yes. Rodgers organs are also a digital organ company but they are not as big.
Nice!
AWESOME!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
According to the Pipe Organ Database, the Vox Humana was prepared for, and it was added at some point. It also looks like at least a Mixture has been added. What a sweet little instrument!
From one self taught organist to another, some things I wish I would have learned earlier… learn the pipe families so that you’re able to register. Most of your registrations sound more like a Lowery than a pipe organ. It sounds like you have tremolo on constantly, which isn’t proper for a classical organ and not for most hymns or service settings. I have a recording of “How Great Thou Art” on my channel from a service on a very similar instrument in a church about the same size as yours with a slight larger congregation. It’s pretty old, but I think it’s a decent example of how that hymn could be registered and played. I would really suggest viewing the AGO beginning organist series, they have a lot of pointers, especially for service playing: th-cam.com/play/PLSJ9JGlhsPJuklW5F3yEQSXhpJzPgAJcL.html&feature=shared. Hats off to you for keeping the music going for your congregation!
I’ve never changed the registration other than adding the arco strings to EVERYTHING same with choir ahhhhhs
Come visit my residence if ever in the Wilkes-Barre- scranton area. I have a 198Rank digital hybrid organ using Hauptwerk and live pipes
I believe I will be in that area over the summer. Please send me an email regarding that organ. My email is in the info section of the channel. Would love to hear from you.
