Hero Squadron - Aventador S and Murcielago LP640
THE END OF AN ERA
Which one of these cars would you drive to Monaco? The Murcielago LP640 or the Aventador S? The naturally aspirated V12 is a dying breed. These icons are now part of history. This video celebrates my 2008 Murcielago LP640 once owned by Freddie Flintoff and my 2018 Aventador S in matching Grigio Telesto. Enjoy seeing these amazing cars driven together with collaborations from the British Army, Bullseye Media Ltd and BHP Ltd. I've copied the description of the car from the Joe Macari website so you can read about the background. What makes a great exhaust? It’s such a personal thing. In this video, I conduct my own exhaust experiment and visit Mr Mike Pullen, also known as Mr Countach who fits a sports exhaust he designed then sold to HR Owen. This has added new life to my car and sounds fantastic. I hope you enjoy seeing all the previous generations V12 at Mike’s garage - Carrera Sport in Haywards Heath, Sussex. It’s ...

For the second video from City Concours 2020 I take a closer look at the V12 Lamborghinis on display including the 400 GT and Diablo 6.0. In the Diablo 6.0 review, I say that Georgio Moroder was the leading the development of the Cizeta and that there were 14 cars. This is partially true. In fact, it was Claudio Zampolli who was an ex-Lamborghini engineer who deveIoped the Cizeta and asked Geor...

The Lamborghini Aventador - wow, what a car! Welcome and thank you for reading these show notes. In this video, I go through each variant of the Aventador. I was amazed at how many models there actually were. Regarding the FKP Sian 37, I couldn't find out what Ferdinand Piech's middle initial stood for. He was born in 1937 which is where the "37" originates from although in the video I said I d...

Haha! Yes, so good to have another Aventador S owner celebrate how amazing this car is for touring. Thank you for watching.
Great video, Take the Aventador S Mark, have used my S on several trips abroad with ease and comfort not a problem.
Thank you! I love your Aventador S too. Looking forward to collaborate. They will look stunning together.
Looks great 💙
Thanks. Yes. There’s always trend to criticise the e-gear as the manual cars are rarer. But, from a driving experience, the e gear system allows uninterrupted communication between me and the car. It’s also very smooth. The key things is, the engineers at Lamborghini are much cleverer than me so they knew what they were doing. The egear suits the LP640.
I found your take on the E-Gear transmission insightful, it’s always good to get the opinion of people who actually know and live with these special machines. Congratulations again on the car.
Hey there, really nice video! Working hard to become an Aventador owner myself! All the best
Did I just watch a secret Dhar Mann video?
Very kind.
Congrats! Awesome video 🙌🏼
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you, Sir! See you soon.
Congratulations on the car, great location btw.
Thank you! Mission accomplished!
Why the music is so loud in video i cant hear Anything
most over priced car in the world imo
FKP stands for Ferdinand Karl Piëch, who was basically one of the biggest shareholders of Porsche and used to run the Volkswagen Group later on. (19)37 being his year of birth. He had a big influence and impact on the Lamborghini and Bugatti Brand, La Voiture Noire was originally built for him, though he passed away before he could take delivery of the car.
Great video. But I have to say that your voice was way too quite and the music was way too loud, making this awkward to listen to.
Wonderful video with excellent explanations of the Aventadors history. Maybe you can do another one including the Ultimae. Totally enjoyed watching.

Looking good Mark 👍
Welcome back to automotive TH-cam .
Good video, music is too loud tho
e startto stoppo as its known in Italy
Too loud, too quiet, too loud, too quiet and so on throughout the video....
and annoying music
Great video
We need the ultimate job/career to purchase the “LAMBO” lol .
What a great work done here . All Aventador lovers and owners should watch this ! Keep the good work
What an amazing and informative documentary, thank you for making this and sharing it!
Great video!
Thank you. I’m always learning so great to have feedback.
Congratulations. Such a nice wholesome celebration of your success and achievement in acquiring this car... And an unexpected tear jerker at the end 😥 if I understood correctly. Stay blessed 🙏
Thank you. Good to see you enjoying The Audi with your son. Keeo up the good work.
One of the things I like about the Miura is that you can see the entire engine when the rear clamshell is open, it’s a work of art. I’ve seen this very Miura around five times now, I love that you can see the engine in the rear view mirror. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to see the recreated Miura Jota (number plate ‘IOTA).
Thank you for watching. Regarding the clamshell design, do you think the Ford GT was an influence for that? Also, the Miura was the first mid-engine “road car” but I would value your knowledge of motorsport in saying mid-engine cars were being used in motor racing before the Miura - am I correct? The Ford GT, Ferrari 312P and Porsche 917 were all mid engine race cars of the 1960s.
Big question, do you think is it worth the money they are asking for it?
@@grigiogt8793 my opinion is that the Miura is the first true mid engine car designed for the road, other road legal cars like the Ford GT40, Ferrari 250 LM were homologation cars as required by the FIA. However, the world was moving towards mid engined performance cars, it’s was the zeitgeist of the age with all great manufacturers thinking pretty much the same thing (at least for race cars), Lamborghini were the first to actually consider it for a road car. Enzo still wanted front engined cars, especially for his V12 cars. Ford produced the GT40 and that was it as far as I know, it was Lamborghini who really showed you can use mid engine based layout for a pure road car that’s why I would say they are the first, Miura will always be the first Supercar, the same thing when it comes to the Veyron, It will always be the first hypercar.
@@grigiogt8793 that’s a tough one, personally I don’t believe in paying a premium just because a car has very low miles on it, I would like a car that’s been used as I know that it works and I can use it myself. Cars that don’t move seize up and I’m a person who believes in driving cars. I met someone who regularly drives a Ferrari 166 Barchetta on rallies and Revs the car at shows (he did it for me at a Concours), I like owners like that, people who show their cars, use them and share them with fans, not lock them away. What makes this car different are the canards, but the premium cannot be justified in my opinion for that either.
What a stunning car! Very interesting point on the front lifting at high speeds. Were the canards after market or from factory?
The Jota was fitted with the canards from factory. Bob Wallace, Lamborghini test driver wanted to take the Miura racing, Ferrucio Lamborghini didn’t want to go racing so as part of after work project the young Lamborghini team decided to prove the Ferrucio they could go racing and created the Jota. Unfortunately, the car was destroyed whilst on its way to a potential customer. There is a recreated Miura Jota, apparently Bob Wallace was consulted during the entire project and it’s close to the original as you can get.
Well stated, Sir!
Thank you for watching. This is the only SV with the canards. One interesting fact - Ferruccio Lamborghini’s Miura SV is the only SV with eyelashes.
@@grigiogt8793 Didn’t know that, do you know where that car is today?
A very informative history and accessable to the non-engineers amongst us. If I might add a little chemistry amendement, the hexagon motif that you comment relates to the carbon atom, actually relates to a group of six carbon atoms that are bonded together in a benzene ring structure. The hexagonal benzene ring is the repeating unit in the extended 2D lattice of graphene and graphite but I won't bore you with details of bonding structure.
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and for your insight into the hexagonal motif. I really welcome this expert knowledge which is content and making it more accurate.
Met you today in Scotland. Hope you got to Glasgow OK
It was great to meet you too. You definitely live in one of the most beautiful places in the world! Thank you for subscribing and it’s so good to hear your passion for Lamborghini.
That sounds very very nice!!! 😁 Especially through that underpass!
Aw, thank you. It’s so difficult to record exhausts. I think you’ll enjoy “London loves Lambos” as you really hear the Murcielago on the move from the outside.
Fascinating video. I didn’t think the new exhaust would change the tonality by *that* much at higher revs. I suppose the new exhaust has slightly different caliber manifolds(?) that result in consistent resonance throughout the rev range?
Carrera Sport looks like a cool place. I remember a time when you could pick a up a Concours condition Countach for ‘only’ £45k - Glad people appreciate them now.
Yes, I think as a history buff you would love it. I do. It’s amazing to think how the price of a Countach has appreciated. The problem is - they aren’t driven enough and that’s when they go wrong.

becharja Thank you for watching. Could you explain what you mean by cslibre manifolds”, please? I wasn’t sure if you meant the calibre off the exhaust manifolds - the engineering of which is beyond me. It’s so difficult to know how an exhaust actually sounds. The 2003 Murcielago has different engine mapping to the LP640 but can still get that F1 scream in 2nd gear at 5000-6000rpm. The catalytic converters, materials, cslibre, curvature, presences of the cross pipe (see the fab speed video) and tips (which in mine have a silencer too) combined with the problems of recording the sound are all variables. I think the “London loves Lambos” video really gives an idea of what my Murcielago sounds like on the road.
@@grigiogt8793 cars need to be driven, other they waste away... If you want to look at a Countach, but a scale model.
Grigio GT Very interesting. At 12:40, there seems to be a subtle variation of the diameter of the lumen (in my minds eye!)? I thought that as the revs increase, the frequency of sound emitted increases, and thus the exhaust accentuates different frequencies throughout the Rev range? Though I may have revealed my deficiency of knowing how exhausts actuate sound! 😅
great video mate
Thank you for your support.
The selection of Lamborghinis were amazing this year, shame I missed this year’s event. That white Countach 5000QV (88.5) is perfect. I would like to see a Diablo and the Cizeta V16 side by side one day. Great upload - Lots of information 👌.
Thank you! I corrected my mistake about the Cizeta in the shownotes. Claudio Zampolli was the creator of the Cizeta with Georgio Morroder as his financial partner. Only 9 were made. Yes, I think you will be able to see them side by side. If you watch "Curated" with John Temerian, he has just bought a blue Cizeta to sell from his vintage dealership. He is a Diablo and Countach guy so I'm sure he'll put the two side by side.
Your cars are beautiful. I do love the Grigio too on both. I must say the orange Diablo was ***mwah***
Thank you for watching my content and your kind words about my cars. You always view my videos so quickly despite being in the States! Yes, that orange Diablo was gorgeous. I’ve been watching your Behind the cars interview - it’s so refreshing hearing your passion.
I got confused with the Jota story too, still haven’t figured it out yet. I read somewhere that the Miura was first designed to a three seater like the McLaren F1.
Wow! I’ve not read that. I think I’ve seen a 400GTwith 3 seats at Retromobile in Paris. Or maybe it was. 350GT. Joe Sackey doesn’t mention that in his Miura bible. Very interesting. Thank you
Grigio GT I will see if I can find the source in writing with Miura 3 seat idea, but it’s mentioned here th-cam.com/video/vSj7GFLDhew/w-d-xo.html I think Ferrari had a similar idea for one of their cars around the same time so I guess it was being thought of by designers during the period. If you look at the early drawings of the Miura, the car is really wide. Never heard of a three seat 350 GT/400 GT
In Joe Sackey’s “Miura Bible”, he writes there was only one Jota version of the Miura that was crashed. A Miura owner said the red car I show the stills of is a modified Miura but not a Jota. There are SV cars that are modified to look like a Jota and this is what I realised I was seeing after I made the video. Please check out the “most expensive Miura in the world” video scheduled for release later this month.
Grigio GT thanks - Will check out the upload when it is released 👍
Great upload - Lots of info.
F1 YMS thank you. If you find any more information on models I missed, please let me know.
Grigio GT I leant a lot from this upload.
Museum looks great - Can’t wait time visit one day.
Glad you liked it too. I’m looking forward to seeing the Terzo Millenio next time. I was disappointed that they don’t display the prototypes - for example, the original Gandini Diablo concept and also the Diablo roadster concept. I would also like to have seen the Miura roadster, Murcielago LP 650-4 and the Egoista and Estoque. I think they need to expand.
Grigio GT I’ve seen the LP147 Diablo concept in museum uploads before, maybe they moved it out. It’s a shame if they don’t display the Prototypes and special one off cars, that’s one of the things you go to a museum for, seeing cars you are never going to see anywhere else. ‘Regular’ models are nice, but they should display the really special cars.
Do you think they should start a concept section? Also, please check out the Lamborghini exhibit in Alsace, France. It’s worth a trip I think...
Grigio GT yes for sure, they should have a concepts section, all of them should be displayed (there’s not a lot so no excuses in my opinion). I like looking at concepts and see how they change when the car goes into production, from the designers vision to reality.
F1 YMS 100%. I think Lamborghini need to make the Museum something really special...like Ferrari do.
I’m not a fan of modifying V12 Lamborghinis, I think the are special as they are, although saying that, I am a huge fan of the Affolter Diablo GT1 Evolution.
Thanks for making this important point. I think the standard Murcielago exhaust is too muffled and you’ll see in a few weeks time how I got the character of the Murcielago to come out more at road legal speeds by having a custom sports exhaust fitted by Mr Countach.
Grigio GT I think the Countach and Diablo sound great, I’ve only heard the Murcielago at low speed, look forward to seeing what you have done with the car.
What’s it like drive a e-Gear Murcielago v Manual?
It’s coming up. It’s in a future video where Dan does a RWD conversion on a LP640 (also grey!). From driving the Aventador, I think the egear is brilliant on the Aventador as the egear was part of the design brief from the start. I’ve never driven an egear LP640 but when you watch the video of the owner and I doing the test drive, you’ll hear his opinion - it’s great, but you need to learn how and when to shift.
Grigio GT look forward to watching that upload when it’s done, I think it’s going to be interesting, not seen anyone else talk about it before.
It’s always nice to see supercar owners let young fans sit in their cars.
F1 YMS His family were lovely. Thank you.
Nice to see a V12 Lambo being driven properly 👌.
Thank you so much. Yes, positioning the car on the road is the most difficult thing. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Grigio GT I think it’s cool to see V12 Lambos being parked by their owners with their doors up.
F1 YMS that’s coming up too! Five Murcielagos!
Stunning car, amazing spec and a great story - Subscribed to the channel, look forward to seeing more. BTW - Congratulations on the Salon Prive prize.

F1 YMS we will. Looking forward to it.
