Kianuka's Celtic Tales
Ireland
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 4 ก.ย. 2020
☘️ Fáilte! Croeso! Welcome to my channel. ☘️
On this channel I want to share with you my passion for the Emerald Isle, Celtic Folklore and Celtic languages.
That includes:
- 🧙 Fantastic Tales and Legends from the world of Celtic Mythology (Irish, Scottish, Manx/Isle of Man, Welsh, Cornish and Breton) 🦄
- 👻 Some ghost stories from the British Isles 💀
- History and historical personalities
- A closer look at some holidays
and more
Note:
I do my best, to pronounce the things I talk about correctly, but it's actually quite hard for a german tongue to pronounce a mix of English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish and French words,😅 so when (not if) I mispronounce something, feel free to let me know in the comments below and leave a hint how to do it better next time.😉 Thank you very much in advance.
I hope you will enjoy my videos.

Jack in Irons - The ghostly giant from Yorkshire
Even though this story does not belong to the "Celtic" tales, it's a nice little folklore tale from the British Isles. Enjoy a short story about a boogeyman figure from the north of England.

Wow. Your pronunciations are honestly a breath of fresh air!! I often find it hard watching this kind of content from creators who are not native to Ireland because they don’t often put much effort into learning the correct pronunciations but you have done such a good job with this😍 maith thú mo chara👏👏
Go raibh míle maith agat😊
thank you for helping me understand this foundational Irish myth. I've been struggling with the written stuff but this made it so clear. Outstanding
Beautifully told
Reminds me of the Am Fear Liath Mor of Big Gray Man of Ben Macdhui, Scotland
"Welcome back to my channel." This is the first time I've been here. That aside, that "shenanigans" fact is quite cool if true, or quite the funny coincidence if not.
Great video lass, thanks for sharing.⚔️🌌☘️
Thank you as always for the video. I have heard of the Giant before however I did learn something new from this thought. Enjoy the rest of your week.

I have a relative people say that. 😂he was stingy
Aaaw so sad
Love your Channel
I reckon the legend that picture the wolves as good is the original versions as for those in ossory may have been wicked come post Christianity . Shape shifters yes , baby eaters smacks of christian French influence
its not Boney as you say.Its Bonny !
A rotten end to be betrayed by a comrade, but I cannot say I mourn Klaus. He had a good run and he was written into romantic legend.
It would be cool to be friends with one of
Thanks for sharing lass, always love to see a new interesting mythological meander videos of yours pop up! Have a wonderful weekend stay safe.🌱🌅🍀
Thank you for the video 👍🏻 I know of these fairies but I don't know a lot about British old culture but I always like learning new things.
Thank you for talking about the Korrigans ! As a Breton who grew up with their legends and got more and more fascinated by them over the years, it means a lot to me to see this part of our culture being shared 💚. If I had just one little thing to add: the segment from 0:50 to 3:35 applies to a different group of Breton creatures; the Morgan and Mari-Morgane also known as the Morganezed (the “fae merfolks”). The Morganezed are in a certain way the cousins of the Korrigans. They are faes when the Korrigans are more like gnomes (they also share a lot in common with the Cornish piskies). 🧙🏻♀ Thank you again for sharing with us those beautiful stories from the Celtic world 🍀
Thank you for your comment. 😊 And thank you for the correction. 😅 I will have to have a look why I seemingly combined those two. That was not intentional 😅
Hi. I love your videos on Celtic mythology and folklore. My specific area of interest is Irish myth/ folklore. Looking forward to listening to many more of your retellings of these ancient stories. Wishing you a wonderful day.
First time seeing this history. de Clare family was de Brionne in Normandy.
Thank you for the infromation, but been studding Irish Mythology for a book I'm writing and I found your information very helpful. I love the idea that Irish werewolf isn't always seen as a uncontrolled beast, but a protector.
Thank you for you being you❣️
You’re going to want to hear about the Oillipheist of Pollacapall Lough, next to Kylemore Abbey in Connemara.
I haven't heard of that one yet. Sounds intruiging😊
I was excited to see your notification & doing this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 it is a nice story
Another amazing story, beautifully told, thank you 👍
Very nice video as always lass, well done! Interesting to see she's even made it into some videogames in various ways.🎵🌅🍀
The origin of the country Paris comes from the word PAR which means "like" in french and YS like the city. So paris means like YS .
A lovely, entertaining listen. 😊 Thanks Kianuka. 🐰🍀
Thank you for letting everyone know about this ancient serpent. We may never know if they are still down in the deep water or not only time will tell I guess.
Not every creature from the Mesozoic days died out...
Great video lass, all new to me so extra thanks for sharing.⚔️🌅🐍🍀
I'm glad I found something you didn't know yet😊
Check out the story set to music by Shaun Davey!
But one day he will rise from death to free Ulster from the shackles of British rule
Thanks for the video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 But why does it have to end. You know come to think of it his story didn't end not really because we're still talking about it in this time ⚔️
Great series lass enjoyed every single video was always happy to see them pop up on my feed. Although I personally think Fionn is equally as legendary as Cuchulain. (; Look forward to seeing what you'll share next. Slan slan.⚔️🌅🍀
Thanks a million😊 Fionn will definitely also get his own series, but I'm still collecting stories and trying to find a good coherent timeline. So before that I think we'll look at a few smaller legends 😊
✌🏻💚☘️
Perfect 😊
Thank you for the video. This story is why everyone then & now still shouldn't mess with The Otherworld especially around Samhain
Great video an tale lass, wasn't familiar with this one at all so thanks for sharing! I recently visited the Ferdia & Cuchulainns statue in Ardee and the standing stone where he was supposed to have had his defiant last stand in Louth. Made two video shorts to remember the nice mythological meanders by.⚔️🌅🍀
Oh that's great🤩 I haven't had the chance yet to go there, but it's definitely on my buckett list😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I found something you didn't know yet😊
Very much enjoyed, thank you, all the very best, health and happiness.
Another fabulous Celtic legend, this time from my adopted home province of Ulster, beautifully told and telling the age-old tale of love, jealousy and heartbreak 💔 thank you 👍
This is always the saddest part of his story 😭
