That is a beautiful, large outdoor rink. I like the low boards, nice, practical build. Nothing fancy. But the lights and little outdoor shed for gearing up is very nice. Brings back so many memories of our home rink growing up in Michigan. Usually about 40X90 in our front yard. But one year we even built one in the chicken yard! Lots of fun hockey there!
Any chance of getting a closer image of the frame/pipe configuration of the "hand-boni"?
@@Hawgstatus are you on Instagram? I could post an image there
@@outdoorhockeyclub my wife is: khittner Many thanks!
@@Hawgstatus I followed, but can't message her because it's private. I have a couple photos of their zamboni that I can send
That town should cut that man a check
That's what its about! These legends keep the dreams alive.
That's for sure!
Its amazing and show how much love people have for the game ice hockey. So many people does an amazing and hard work for those outdoor rinks. I wish we could have outdoor rinks where i live. Everyone should see outdoor hockey club! Its so goood!
So many great people around outdoor rinks! Thanks for the kind words
the helmet left the chat long time ago. i get it if adults wants to skate without the helmet on. but me personally, i would not let a single kid onto the ice without their helmet with a full faceguard
Nice
Are you running a pump (electric or pto) or just gravity for the water flow? How many gallons would you say it takes to zam a rink that size (full 250 gallon tote)?
I'll find out these answers for you and post them here
Here ya go: Gravity flow. About 175 gallons does it
@@outdoorhockeyclub thanks!
Is it playable this time of year? I've been really wanting to play outdoor hockey. Please let me know.
Legendary rink in Roblin, MB!
Subbed. So interesting.
Thank you!!
I can't find the short you did on the quality of Riverdale Rink, but I can't say enough good things about it!!! It means so much to the people in the community, although my local rink is Jimmie Simpson, I go out of my way to go to Riverdale!!!
Nice Jets shirt!!!
which is further North Northern Ontario like Earlton, Winchester , Sudbury or Manitoba?
What part of Ontario is this? any where near where Red Kelly is from Simcoe ,? Earlton Wilf Paiment, Winchester Larry Robinson , Sudbury?
This rink is in Manitoba
You can tell that you enjoy doing this with your kids , they grow up fast just enjoy the ride my friend ❤
Great video

This is incredible! I'm an aspiring male figure skater and DANG do I wish I had this in my backyard. Would save me some SERIOUS gas money 😂
Excellent! I wish every father would do things like this for their kids! Well Done Dad!
Mine did everything with my brother and little to nothing with me. He took my brother on hunting trips to Wisconsin, and I've never even been to the state because he refused to take me. 5 years younger than my brother, and for some reason just never really got to have a dad. Recently spoke to him for the first time in over 2 years. I envy people with a complete family, my parents got divorced when I was 2-3 and I've personally never seen them in the same room and I just turned 21 less than 3 months ago
@@GhostNinja0007 I'm sorry he treated you that way. It's unfair, and it hurts badly. When I was born, {I'm female} my mom had another baby girl just 10mos later. {She was born early} Because I was so young, just learning to walk, and got into everything, she left me with my grandparents. My mom didn't want me back at all. My dad would work all week, then come take me with him fishing, hunting, and doing all the stuff he loved. He died young from cancer, and now my mom is over 90, and I am the only one who will care for her. She can't live alone, and her "special" girl, my sister, is too busy, and thinks she belongs in a nursing home... For many years I ached to be loved by her, but I never measured up. I found a real love when I began to read my Bible. I found God. I found love in the Lord, that I never knew existed, and because of THAT love, I am able to let go of my lifetime of hurt. I can forgive, because I've been forgiven. Don't get me wrong, there are times when I still wonder what life would have been like having a mom who loved me, but it doesn't take over and make me feel unworthy. You will be a great dad someday. You know what it feels like to be left behind, and made to feel like you're not "good enough". You will pay special attention to all your kids, not ignore one over the other. I can now understand why my mom couldn't handle being up all night with a premature baby, AND deal with a toddler all day as well... We just never could be close. I hope you and your dad can find healing. For me, without the Lord, I don't know what I would have done. HE filled that empty place, and allows me peace. I hope you are able to find this Peace as well... I wish you could keep in touch! I'd love to be friends. {More like a Grandma!}😉
Hoser 😂
uhhhh hell nah
Thats some high level dad stuff right there brother 👍
Dude at the ODR on the south side has been doing this. So cool. 👏🏼👏🏼
Looks awesome! Way to support local hockey!
Thanks!! That experience was a great collection of rinks and stories!
I live I. Arizona and live hockey. I am jealous
It's a pretty great rink, thanks for checking it out!
Where is this located?
It's close to downtown on the tennis courts by the outdoor pool
@@outdoorhockeyclub by the old indoor arena?

I was born and raised in Newmarket. I actually miss it, all the memories
It's a great place! I was only there for a couple days, I enjoyed my time there!
Legendary rink at Beaver Creek Farms in Manitoba!
why not show the kids skating after the ice was done icing? lol just a thought
Stay tuned for more from their rink!
Buster Clare floods the ice with his homemade Zamboni every morning before the sun comes up in Whitehorse!
That is an awesome idea
Buster Clare is an outdoor hockey legend!
I wish I could have this. It’s so hard to make it past high school in hockey when you live in Texas.
Outdoor hockey is a special experience! So many thanks for ice makers like Jarrett, his sons, and Kenton. Hope you can keep on playing!
I'm guessing the netting also makes it quieter so the neighbours aren't as pissed off with the noise of pucks on the boards all the time. I was always amazed at how much ice disappears through direct sublimation. You can lose 1/8" of ice a day easy even on wicked cold days, especially if its windy. Anyone that thinks they flood a rink at the start of the season and then just skate on it needs to do a reality check. Also if you think shovelling your driveway is work then I don't recomment making a rink.
It’s a science and an art to make ice, especially when it gets used a ton like the ice at Jarrett’s rink! That’s interesting about the sublimation, thanks for sharing!
I’m in the red jacket
That’s me
Right on, great job with the flood!
Great crew out at the rink in Roblin!
Buster is a gem in/for his community! I grew up on a lake in MN with a big gang of boys. Our hockey rink was used every day and never got resurfaced. After about a week it was chipped, bubbled, cracked and really uneven. When we got bigger our moms tried to resurface it with a hose using city water but that didn’t make it better. I’m surprised one of out Engineer dads didn’t make a zamboni. Hot water and thin even application are the key. There’s a YT vid of a boy in Toronto that DIY Zamboni his mini back yard rink with a bucket of hot water, a broken hockey stick, and a big hot wet towel. He mops the rink with it. If you search for it, it has “insane” in the title.
Buster is a true gem! Thanks for sharing the story about your rink! I'll take a look for that Zamboni video too
Great spot on Lake Winnipeg near Gimli
What a solid crew around the rink in Roblin!
Mother Nature must be a hockey fan after creating this skating trail on Lake Winnipeg!
True Dedication!!🏒🥅
Yes, Buster is amazing!
Nice 👍
what type of puck are you using there?
It's a standard hockey puck with the OHC logo printed on it
Great rink in Roblin, Manitoba!
Absolutely beautiful. Lack behind us didn't freeze over last year but I'm hoping it will this year. Can't wait to get out and play some pond hockey.
Thank you! Here's hoping for a good freeze this winter, enjoy the pond hockey!
Beautiful
Thanks for watching!!
