You have to memorize it because some questions will ask: "How ounces are in 1 pint?" Or "A ride at an amusement park says you have to be 52 inches tall to ride. How many is that in feet?" Or, "How many ounces are in 1 gallon?" At least, those were the only conversions I got. A majority of the test was just ratios. If I had to guess, I'd say 85 percent of my Hesi was just ratios (5:3::1:6 kind of math). The remainder was adding and subtracting fractions, four or five word problems (three out of five could be solved with ratios), and just converting fractions to decimals and vice versa. Also, i only had two questions where I had to deal with converting °F and °C. To get a great handle on it, just download practice tests with answer keys online. That's what I did, and you'll see how basic the math is.

Perhaps a local college offers tutoring services?

@@EstyNistorI was told that a lot of people take A&P first. I rescheduled my test from the 26th to the 13th which is next Tuesday. I want to get it over with and I’ve been studying. I feel pretty prepared. I’m not too worried about it. I’m gonna take the A&P first cause that sounds smart and it will be freshest on my mind.

I used the Mometrix study guide to prepare. I also quickly looked over the questions for each reading passage before I would read the passage so that I knew what to be looking for specifically as I read. Hope that helps a little!

The department of health in the state you were immunized have your records. You’ll need to go online to their website and submit your request I believe.

Yes, if you really work through all the resources on Nurse Hub and are able to score well on that, then you should be able to get a similar score on the HESI. Pretty much any of the resources I recommend could be used alone, as long as you really cover all the material in it and understand it well.

I did mine at home with a video cam monitoring me. I could also have chosen a testing center at a local college if I had wanted.

You need to check what the requirements are for the school/s you apply to. Each school has different requirements. Mine did not require chem or physics; however, some do.

I personally did practice quizzes on all the topic areas, and then I studied in depth whatever areas I was not getting the score that I wanted. Best of luck on your studies!

Not really…you do learn to do measurements like weighing patients, taking temperatures, etc. but that is the extent of the math in the nurse aide course.

I had to take A&P 1 as a prerequisite along with the CNA course. I took them at different times though.
