Let’s get real - freedom sucks if it is just a distant dream you slave away at while worrying you might not even attain it.
Years ago, I broke free from my own corporate hell. And I discovered life can be fun again. Remember what it was like to be as a kid? It is possible!
Yep it starts with a reality check. And it takes some good information, a plan, some guts and some grit.
But whether it’s building passive income, simplifying your finances, or getting real about what success means to you - welcome.

Day two cold turkey of a thirty year habit
Day two! Surprised you were OK enough to leave a comment. 🤣Well done.
Because my brain is like it's on speed all the time , caffeine does nothing for me, in that way. Can even drink coffee before bed and sleep fine. My brain never lets me fall asleep in the day, I've got no chance.😂
45 sec intro, sorry disliked cuz of it
On the same journey at 64. So I feel ya. Good luck man
Thanks man - I appreciate that! I am super excited for the journey we are on.
Pretty crap But keep going
Yep, but you watched LOL. Really hope you got something out of it.
to be honest i think caffeine ages people by years. literally kills their skin. biggest thing is it affects your consciousness cause you're basically drugged out in the moment. people high on caffeine cant even hold a gaze. their bodies are literally vibrating for no reason. Imagine the poor heart. coffee is the reason some cultures are very aggressive like arabs and Italians. once i had so much caffeine i wanted to punch things. difficult thing to quit through. we're surrounded by this shit everywhere. also the reason why most men are bald. also its the second most traded commodity in the world after oil so they really want you to keep drinking it. Billions of dollars at stake ! shit substance.
You're awesome - thanks for watching. Love to know where you are at in your journey.
the author of caffeine blues drinks one cup a day still
Yep. He says he is not 100% anti-caffeine but he encourages informed, mindful use of it. One cup a day wasn't going to work for me like alcohol. I feel like the key is to do what is right for ourselves.
I’ve discovered that all coffee is not created equal. Switched to an Organic mycotoxin free lab tested one and a completely different experience. I have a hard rule of no coffee for the first hour and after a walk, then none after midday. No anxiety, no crash and no sleep disturbances.
Well done on the self control. The mycotoxin is very interesting - will look into that further but I wonder if organic is the more important.
I like your content. I quit booze a year ago, and then I decided to quit caffeine more recently. I used a similar technique to you, except that I used NoDoz pills and a pill splitter to gradually phase down without getting headaches. However, once I got to zero, I found that I was dregged out and couldn't really see any benefits, so I went back to drinking it after a week or so. I think I need to psychologically prepare myself so I'm more committed to quitting, like I did with booze. I have found hypnotherapy type books to be very effective for quitting drugs such as Alan Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking, and another guy called Stop Drinking Expert. I have found an equivalent thing for coffee on Audible, so maybe I'll give it a go.
Thanks man. Yeah I definitely know what you mean about not seeing the benefits immediately. That sounds like a great way to prepare yourself psychologically.
Interesting coincidence. I cut my coffee intake in half this morning. From 14 ounces of strong coffee to 7-8 of strong coffee. I'll still have a cup to jump-start me before playing tennis or hockey or squash. We'll see how it goes.
Hope it goes well for you! Have you tried pickleball? I recon you would have some mad skills.
@@Cubicle_Free Thanks for the reply! I played pickleball a few times and didn't enjoy it enough to keep playing it. There are a few sports I enjoy far more, but I know it is there when I need it. It is very good that millions(?) of people are more active than they would be without pickleball.
decaf also has caffeine. so after 1 year without normal coffee youre still getting high from 8mg per cup - youre just much more sensitive now.
My decaf says 99.9% removed. The internet says 97% for some. Either way I am not dependent because I can easily skip it. Chocolate has more from what I can work out and I am definitely more sensitive.
Best thing i ever did. Felt like death for five days (went cold turkey), and then energy levels skyrocketed. Became a morning person. Literally a life changer, so much more productive in every aspect of my life now. Been that way for three years, since i got 'clean'
Wow what a change! Well done - thanks for sharing.
As someone who is drinking 1000mg of caffeine and day and always tired , I am starting the journey of no caffeine, I'm down to around 300mg/day this week. It's been difficult but this is encouraging to hear. Thanks for the video
Keep pushing. If you have the same outcome as me, it will be worth it. Ive never looked back. Was a life changer. Hope you have the same outcome.
Well done - you've got this!
Great video :-) what sort of affiliate marketing did you do?
Thanks! The affiliate marketing I found worked best for me was SEO. I kind of fell into it by just trying to provide the best information on sites that helped people to quit their jobs and travel overseas long term. Does that answer your question?
Quinn 👋 what is the brand of decaf coffee you use please? Where can I buy it at a decent price? Thank you.
Glad you asked! There is a link in the description for the decaf I drink in Australia and North America.
@ thank you I’ll check it out
I heard coffee drinkers live longer
Apparently lots of antioxidants in Decaf and regular coffee, but personally I think the enjoyment and relaxation (no caffeine for me) you get is gong to make you live longer.
I’m at my whits end I’m getting constant headaches, I can’t sleep my work performance and attendance is dropping due to lack of sleep and my anxiety is through the roof, I drink a lot of caffeine, 1 energy drink a day, a can of coke and 2 coffees so I think I’m gunna try quitting caffeine will be hard as I’m not a big eater but I love hot and fizzy drinks
Hope it goes really well for you. You've got this!
I quit caffeine about 3 weeks ago. Strangely I’ve started to feel genuine happiness that I haven’t felt in years. This happened the last time I quit caffeine too. It must have been doing something to my brain or something
Wow that is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I wonder what was being suppressed with the caffeine. Fortunately though it sounds like you are able to recover.
If I'm at work I have no food until lunchtime then drink a protein shake. No breakfast. I'm able to go to the gym at lunch and play a tough hour match of squash. I don't feel sluggish at all. Usually sluggish if I eat lots. It's the easiest way to give my stomach a rest as I'm busy at work and not thinking about food. Been watching videos on fasting and going to attempt a 3 day water fast. I'm 48. I did a 24 dry fast once or twice when younger just to increase willpower. This time I want to see how it benefits my skin and overall mainly. Encouraged by your mindset and goal to feel full of vitality like when we were young. 👍
Nothing better than a game like squash in the middle of the day. I play pickleball twice a week in the middle of the day - so fun, so kid like at times. Good luck with the water fast - feel like that is next level. Thank for sharing!
7:17 ahahah caffeine is a hell of a drug
Nice one
Thanks 🔥
I didn't have vitality as a child so when I discovered caffeine as a teenager it made me feel super powerful. Many lost years later. I am struggling to give up my one to two cups per day
Sorry last comment… I feel that we all drink caffeine or alcohol because at the root our lives are shit. We all do things we don’t want to do. Caffeine and alcohol give us a relief from how shit our lives are. If we all lived lives we love and are excited about - there wouldn’t be any need for drugs!
Your comments are great. Yeah that is super interesting because I wonder which one comes first - is it the chicken or the egg? For me, I definitely drank to feel better. I feel like when I got off the alcohol and caffeine I would at least be in a better position to sort shit out.
@CubicleFreeTV I drank alcohol purely because friends were doing it and I just went along with it without questioning it. But it was easy to quit and I can happily go out and have 2 beers and be done. Caffeine on the other hand is a beast to quit. I need deep sleep again - can’t remember the last time I got any! And those comments were yesterday and I drank so much caffeine, so they seem like a rant - I’m sorry for flooding your comment section haha. Caffeine makes me like that! It makes me rant and moan about everything! What’s going on there???
@@CT-pv9gu Quitting caffeine was the greatest thing I've done, it gave me confidence, actually made me interesteed in talking to strangers, my anxiety has lessended to much, my heart rate/blood pressure have been amazing.. The best thing is the sleep, you literally sleep forever until it's time to wake up. Yes the first couple of weeks of qutiting is the worst possible part, but that is the best time to start taking advantage of feeling tired... take lots of naps, and then go for gentle walks, drink lots of water... and just accept the withdrawls The rewards you get after is something special honestly
@@Cubicle_Free I agree with this and it's one reason I gave up booze. People drink in the evening to dull the pain of their tedious lives. When I quit booze, I made a point of making my life better by improving my relationship with my wife, taking up scuba diving and more. When you use a drug to dull your boredom, it also stops you building a life you can love sober.
It’s funny you say about speed too… caffeine is literally a narcotic. It’s just in legal liquid form. And here I am slamming caffeine but I’m still on it! It’s the hardest drug I’ve ever had to quit.
Sorry, it does not meet the definition of narcotic.
@@rolandledesma-de7qd psychoactive stimulant Very close to being a narcotic
And yeah when we’re kids we just lived life not needing any drugs. I didn’t even know what drugs were! Why do we have to do drugs when we’re older just to get through the day?!
I know right? I really think we need to think about it in this way and at least make the call what is right for us rather than just accepting it as OK.
The only liquid we need is water. Anything else is bullshit. Caffeine stops you sleeping, and anything that stops you sleeping is not a good idea.
Well all we had was water for hundreds of thousands of years.
good info
Thanks. Glad you think so!
I am around the same age Quinn. I quit all caffeine about 6 weeks ago and feeling better and sleeping better. I also quit alcohol about 1 year ago and never going back.
Thanks awesome - well done! Glad I am not the only one. Just today I got invited to another "piss up" with some people I really like. Going to be fun to see their reactions when I go. Just hope I can enjoy it.
Decaf can have certain chemicals in it. Drink water!
Apparently swiss water process is OK and decaf might have other benefits. All that said water is amazing.
To become a kid again is the goal ! These substandes destroy us
Absolutely!
So well said. It took me about a month to remove caffeine and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made to get back to that childhood energy you talk about. Less anxiety, better sleep, living more how I’m meant to live.
Great to hear your experience. Kinda crazy that we put all these barriers in our own way, but glad you found the other side.
I had a crazy panic attack from caffine and quit it cold Turkey about 5 months ago. You definitely don't need it.
Way to go! I have a buddy who went to hospital because he thought he was dying from a heart attack - turned out to be too much caffeine.
@@Cubicle_Free Yes it's scary. But once you experience something scary, it's easy to not go back to it.
What is the decaf brand you like?
Vittoria but I am in Aus. In North America I like Kicking Horse.
I was having exactly those thoughts how caffeine will be looked at like any other illegal drug these days, back in early 2000s. Still drinking coffee though, one in the morning, one at about lunch time, rather before 12pm than after. I think I am addicted but I don't have it as bad as you. And I definitely don't need to 'quit alcohol' as I almost don't drink any. We had alcoholism in my family but luckily I wasn't affected by it. I prefer to be sober.
Interesting insight into how you are navigating your journey. Thanks for sharing!
Great video Quinn. Something to consider for everyone is avoiding decaff coffee too. Reasons I know of: It dehydrates the colon and body, dilutes stomach acid which effects digestion for the whole day, elevates heart rate to the same level as caffeinated coffee. Regarding being addicted to coffee taste. Our food cravings are not our own, they're the bacteria in our gut, that manipulate us into feeding them. Once we stop consuming a certain thing, the get bacteria that lives of it is starved off and perishes, with it the associated cravings. You're right it is nice to have a ritual; it can eventually be replaced by anything that works for the individual. Some it's a herbal tea, some it's warm lemon and ginger water, some it's turmeric soy milk, I keep seeing mushroom blends being advertised as a coffee ritual alternative. It doesn't have to be a liquid, can be something like sucking on a date. Going for a walk with heightens awareness of surroundings, a 5 min breathing meditation, etc.
Thanks for you comment. Interesting to read your thoughts about decaf. I absolutely love the taste is my challenge but looks like I need to look into the effects a bit further. I am constantly blown away by the power the gut has too.
That’s terrific! Look up Dr. Ardis about nicotine. Mind blowing!
I thought you can never remove all caffeine from coffee, a residue will always stay. I might be wrong but if I'm not, no wonder you enjoy a decaf lol
Thanks for you comment. Internet says 97% is removed. The bag of beans I buy says 99.9% is removed. Either way, I don't need to drink it every day and there don't seem to be any effects. Chocolate has much more.
@@Cubicle_Free And thank you for answering. Guess the caffeine content is next to nothing then what's left. Didn't know chocolate had any! I better investigate further before I try any more caffeine breaks
Hits hard Quinn...
The video or the loneliness or both? 😀 Appreciate the feedback either way!
@@Cubicle_Free Honesty always hits hard Quinn, respect, great talk.
@@lifeiswarwarislife1972 Hey wow, I really appreciate that! Thank you.
I quit caffeinated coffee and moved to decaf…maintain ritual remove jitters and anxiety 🙌🏼
Recon that's a good way to go! Thanks for sharing.
What brand of decaf do you drink please?
I’m thinking ok stopping. I drink a 600m bottle of Pepsi or Coke a day
Good on you. Might be interesting because the sugar will also make a difference. Sugar cravings can be pretty intense too.
@@Cubicle_Free oh I only have sugar free drinks
Caffeine makes me tired (after the crash)
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s always helpful to hear how others feel about caffeine. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster, isn’t it?
For me the pro is sleep. Never realised how much it affects your sleep until you stop. The other benefit is I now drink more spring water to compensate for not having tea and coffee.
I had completely forgotten what good sleep was like.
This is exactly what i tell people. I used to sleep on caffeine, all the way through, but never felt rested. Since ive been off it, i feel so much more rested, and energy levels are worlds different.
Spring water and herbal tea's like peppermint, turmeric, ginger, lemon etc
Is doing decaf ok so I can still have coffee
Oops just got to point in vid where he says he has decaf lol.I am a daft lad lol
Such a good way to go.
The author of that book still drinks 1 cup of coffee per day
@@FreedomLovin yeah, apparently that is true. For him it is about balance. For me one cup just would not happen - like alcohol. Its like letting the genie out of the bottle.
The sweet spot for me is twice a week. Keeps me non dependent and low tolerance. Its truly a safe performance enhancing drug when used this way
Ohh wow that is super interesting. Great share.
Great info, nice job. Gonna give this a go!
Good luck!
One cup of coffee doesn't kill you. But who drinks 3 or 4?
the average American
😂 Yep and one cup is 8oz which is a short at Starbucks but I don't think many people get that size. Tall is 12oz, Grande is 16oz and Venti is 20oz.
I know people who drink 10-15 cups a day
definitely taper off. cold turkey is a terrible idea.
Try roasted dandelion tea! If you love black coffee have a go
Totally agree. I like Dandelion blended with Chicory - closest thing to coffee.
