Yep, Salem came out in the 2024 blind bags. They put him on the Icelandic, which is a good match I didn't even consider. I'd posted this on August 8th, and then Breyer's Halloween store opened September 5th to reveal the set. It'll be fun to make guesses for 2025!

Oh yes, of course. ♥ Where I live though, there is unfortunately a dominant religion that likes to control our State politics (which I won't get into!), among many other things. I have personal experiences with this particular religion and some of its leaders, and they're all quite bad. So! If this heads down that road a bit.. we'll just see about putting it in reverse and trying other avenues 😅

Thank you! And, I totally hear you on the art stuff. I haven't made any flat, tangible art for SO long. A lot of it health-related, a lot of it mentally/emotionally-related.. art is a sincere form of personal creativity and if it's not in you to do it, it can't be forced (I don't think). For a while I felt guilty for not making art until I realized I don't HAVE to. It's not my day job. It's something for me to enjoy and WANT to do, and that'll come when it's ready. I also noticed if I spent time looking at things--noticing things in different areas of the internet and yard/neighborhood and on drives that were all outside of routine, I felt little sparkles of inspiration. Things to paint and draw. I hope, if you want it, it's something you'll find again soon. 💜

Ooh YES. Lemme think... outside web specials and unicorns, I think our last mare/foal sets were Ethel & Kansas (2022), The Phantom & Misty (2022), and Ebony Shines & Charlize (2023). I'd say we're definitely due for a new mare/foal, and with Rhi and Rem being crowd favorites, they're sure to show up soon!

Ahhh! Okay, so, I went back digging around EVERYWHERE until I found mention of a fall Special Event in my DCC welcome email. I totally missed that previously! (It'd help if I read the entirety of the emails they send.. they just.. send so many.. 😅) I did not know there were 75th Anny SMs, though?! In everything I saw they were generic regular run stuff. Did you see specifically "75th Anniversary Edition" or anything? Eek!

@ lol don’t worry! I don’t read any of their emails haha. A friend told me! And looking again I see something called the “brilliance gift set” which includes models all anniversary colored. They aren’t specifically listed as 75th anniversary stablemates though!

Oh wow.. I saw 'animals in the RR line' and 'western horse with clock' and they made my heart skip with the upcoming releases I've seen so far! This list of ideas is brilliant. We do need more RRs on the recent PC sculpts! A new Treasure Hunt would be so much fun and I would LOVE to see a Pam/Paf mare/foal set in the VC, as well as the Hammy deco gambler! I'm happy to know she took care of the Club pamphlets. I'm sure she was in her happy place putting those together for Breyer. 💙 A MOW Morning Glory deco would be fantastic. I wonder if that'd be our spring or fall release, if Breyer were to make one? It's possible, and personally, I'd love to see it. I take it then she liked the Traditional Scale Man O' War?

Yes, since the TR MOW was her very first Breyer model. She bought it when she was 9 years old in April of 1974 with her birthday money. If she hadn’t passed in February 2024 she would have been in the hobby for 50 years this past April. She was planning to celebrate at BF last July with a big sheet cake with gold frosting & having a get together at the MOW statue at the KHP.

I'll get that holiday haul out one day, I swear! 💪🏻😅 Isn't the Hamilton idea so much fun?! I can imagine him so clearly and he really would be stunning. I can't imagine though Breyer read our thoughts. Shoot. Lol Personally: I think the Croi--though darling and I have quite a few of her--might be on the small side for the Surprise. It's the most expensive model Breyer offers during the 'Fest, and I think they try to do an okay job of making the cost "worth it." I could totally see her as a Special Run though! Or maybe even a mid-year release here shortly? She's been a limited web special (2023) and Volunteer Model (2023), and was the holiday Gambler (2021).. which sounds like a lot of uses, but she hasn't seen a regular run box since 2020! We'll see soon, I think. New releases will be revealed January 1, and that will start our BreyerFest reveals season too! Hooray!

@CandaceToo I haven't even attempted any of the other Stone sales this year 😆 Knowing they usually sell out so fast and I usually don't have the budget for them I just save myself from the stress of it Haha. Maybe whenever I manage to go to BreyerFest again I'll try to pick something up in person!

Hi! This is a super late reply--sorry! Did you figure out how to repair your Calista's leg? I have a heat gun from the hardware store, but I've heard of hairdryers on high heat working for this too. Basically you just warm the plastic a little at a time, and with a cloth to hold the leg so as not to burn your fingertips, gently coax the warped leg to where it should be. You start with the heat fairly far back and wave it over the leg. Holding the heat on one spot or too close will bubble the paint, and sometimes even the plastic (heat guns do that easily). If you go to move the leg but it still feels solid, heat a little longer. Hope that helps!

Aww yay! I'm so glad you were excited for another video so soon and am happy to have you back watching. I love the name Dandy for the Chip! And thanks about my Purple! I TOTALLY hear you about that rude Stone comment and know exactly what you're referencing. Once I heard about that, I also swore to not support the company, and I didn't. (Admittedly, I did buy one Stone secondhand before I heard about that incident, but never bought directly from the company and didn't buy any others {secondhand or otherwise} until this lot.) Here is my stance on it now (obviously take it or leave it and keep on collecting what you love!): I bought an Eras to support a woman taking ownership of the company. I am confident she will steer it in amazing directions. She's a hobbyist in her heart; not someone in it strictly to make money. She also loves coordinating events and brought BreyerWest back to life for us Westies who had little or no chance of getting to BF in person, so I think she might do something similar with Stone. I believe she's more about supporting artists, hobbyists, and fostering a community of collectors. She is open to feedback and has asked for suggestions on what we'd like to see, what they could improve, and has implemented a lot of it. She's making obtaining a special model easier for a broader audience. She's invested in Stone with her own funds but also brought in friends/artists/hobbyists as investors and part-owners too, and I can only imagine will be open to their input and ideas. Stone is super expensive, yes. 100%. It is not easy to shop there. But, I also figure, unless I somehow win a Breyer test piece opportunity for $1200 and MAYBE I like the offering enough to enter for it to begin with.. I might never be able to afford a OOAK original finish model, unless I get a Stone. They had loads of OOAKs go up in their holiday sale on Friday this last week, and many were around $450 or so in the 1:9 size. Breyer volunteer models are usually $600 minimum. Breyer 1/30 raffle models sell for thousands. And! All those Stone models---be it a OOAK or one of 5 or even one of 30-- were painted by someone here, in the US, who is an artist and creative person showing up for work each day at a woman-ran, Indiana-based shop. I can look up this person on their website and learn a little about them if I wanted. How cool is that? I feel like it's worth supporting. If I design a horse with Stone, it'd be about $400. Then one of their artists takes the time to make it just for me. If I wanted that with Breyer (since I haven't seen this opportunity offered in ages, or, unless I guess you write a very short essay and they decide it's something they'd like to make), I'd have to win their Live Auction offering and spend around $30k. Minimum, probably. And, maybe he founded it.. but the smart-alec, curmudgeonly (?), seemingly money-hungry founder is now off in retirement and has nothing to do with Stone Horses, aside from sharing part of the name. 😊😊😊 Anyway. That was a _lot_ of rambling opinion that you did not ask for (😅), but that's my stance now. Shrug. Thanks as always for sharing your thoughts with me! <3

@CandaceToo. No need to justify it though I appreciate your thoughts & views on the matter. Collect what you like, whether it’s Breyer, Stone, Hartland or knockoffs. I never thought I’d have a test or OOAK model in my collection so I contented myself with my BF raffle models (I’ve been drawn for 5! 🎉) & my BEB Beignet, who I treasure. Then Andrea left me a Classic Ginger test model she found in a body bin at the Breyer Store in 2022. I was with her when she found it & was not convinced it was a test. I teased her by insisting it was from the mare from the Spanish Norman Family but she said it wasn’t because that mare had gray muzzle & hooves while the one she just pulled out of the body bin had pink muzzle & hooves. She was right of course. Only Andrea could go digging around the body bin at the Breyer Store during BF & find a test piece. How many people picked that little mare up & instantly dismissed it? Yet Andrea recognized it for what it was - a $2 test! She wrote about it in her blog on July 19, 2022 “The Two Dollar Test” & she bequeathed it to me. It’s so bittersweet. On one hand I now have a test piece in my collection. On the other hand I only have it because my friend passed away. So if you want to buy Stones as a way to have micro runs & OOAK in your herd - go for it. If they bring you joy then I am happy that you have them.
