Don’t bother looking for a better song 🎵 and vocals , You Won’t Find it ! Quite simply Superb !
❤
Back in the early 80 my dad would take my brother and I camping in the Adirondacks every summer to a place called Lake Wakonda located in Pottersville, NY. Driving in his old station wagon, he played the Kingston Trio's greatest hits in the cassette deck front and back multiple times. I had my Sony Walkman to "drown them out" but at the age of 53, I feel like Tom Dooley at times wanting to just smile.
This song is dark AF. I remember it from my childhood. And yet darker stuff gets the AOK
A lot of drama behind the recording and live performance of this song. The vocals you hear in this video were recorded by the goofy drummer, not the cute blonde boy. The blonde boy, named Lynn Easton, didn't record the vocals on the album, the drummer, Jack Ely did. It had been Jack Ely's idea to record "Louis Louis," it was his "baby" but the blonde kid's mother had bought and registered the name "The Kingsmen" so he claimed it was his band and he got to be the lead singer, up in front and relinquished Jack behind the drum kit which he had no idea how to play. Such a dick move. The Kingsmen were only 19 years old when they released this song and Lynn and Jack had grown up together but some people are just assholes from a young age. So the drummer isn't playing the drums he was the singer and the singer was the drummer. And Annie Fannie is a direct rip off of "Alley Oop" by The Hollywood Argyles. You can easily hear the two different voices in the songs.
Oh no! We gotta go.
i just played the studio version to go along with it that was fyee

My teacher used to play this in class. Weird guy but an excellent diver.

Who is here because of the Zodiac? 🙈
Dooley is a family name in my family but as far as I know I'm not related to the Tom Dooley that was killed in North Carolina for murder
New Playlist called Zodiac 😅
Zodiac
Still love them
This is the zodiac speaking from Netflix brought me here
Lmao same, if my teacher played this I'd probably think they were a killer.

Goodlookin
Best song to sing when you’re drunk❤️
One of the very best 60's. Still love it and still play it!
Kingston Trio were great I love listening to them
I never knew Bob Shane played the banjo.
I have a cousin that played this record for her parents that was probablys it helped them work things out and they another 35 years together they're both deceased now
….die fröhlichen Dauergrinser!😄
What a disappointment. The kinescope is terrible, it's out of synch and this upbeat cutesy arrangement is odd. Frankie's singing is flawless
I bet young people in college nowadays won't be writing songs like this. Hate is what they will write about.
Just so bloody nice.
