In 1967 I was sent to Japan from Vietnam with a bad infection in my knee and we stopped overnight in the Philippines at Clark Air force Base. That night the Four Preps did a show in the lobby and it was great! Just a piano player and the Preps, it was something I really enjoyed!
My brother bought this 45 and despite my not getting along with him, like you, this is still one my all time favourites. Did you know Gene Roddenbury (Stark Trek originator) is in the lineup?
Me too! I'm 73 now and this reminds me of taking piano lessons as a kid. Other night I figured out a reasonable facsimile of those chords and banged them out on a church piano. I could just hear that for hours!! Well I heard some giggling, I turned around, and saw a half dozen 6-11 year olds in the back of the room, dancing to the music!!!! Guess it appears to all generations!😂😂😂
What a great memory. I was 13 the year this was released and it really resonated with this guy. And that piano...Everybody I knew who had one tried to learn those chords!
Oh goodness... what a precious memory this brought with it. This was one of my favorite songs back then! Thank you for sharing. Soundtrack of my youth 🎼🖤
1958 had some of the most awesome songs, both soft and rockers. The excellent piano gave this one extra spice. I wish I was older that 4 when this came out.
I am 83 now. was one of my favorites in high school.... still is..
FANTASTIC!!!! I'm 73 now and this still sounds great!!!!!!

Saw the 4 preps about 10 years ago in Hadlock WA. What an honor! - For an hour I was young again! (now 71 with grandkids, still listening).
My all-time favourite record. Lincoln Mayorga's piano made it (and many others). Lincoln died on July 3, 2023.
Sorry to hear that. The piano really spiced this one up.

Those were the best years of music.
My favorite 50's song.
I'm 73 and remember this being played on the wireless when I was a child. Great to hear it again.
The piano makes this song and the harmonizing.
I look back now and so took all of this for granted. Beautiful!
Music just doesn't get better than this masterpiece!
I just love the piano! And the harmonies!!

@@ccooley101 Wow. I'm 75. Would you feel OK about sending me the chords?

Let you in on a secret: Lincoln told me there was a second pianist!
Oh goodness... what a precious memory this brought with it. This was one of my favorite songs back then! Thank you for sharing.

Mega-dittos!
When dancing/ music/singing meant exactly that. and Clean cut.Harmonising.
It’s much better than today’s music/noise.
Harmonizing is great in this, but I wouldn’t compare the dancing to groups like the Flamingoes or the Treniers.
This is clearly mimed.
I remember this. It was a big hit in Australia, where I live.
Love this song.
I would listen to it non-stop. Brill tune.
Me too! And I am a graduate of Beatkemania, too!

Great song!
Great song
with Glen A. Larson
Who later became a major TV producer (Battlestar Galactica and many others).
Fantastic! Young people back then had a measure of class that is lacking in today's culture.
Very passionate even after cinquante ans!
Sad but such a true song. Half my life left me a month ago after being together for three years and engaged for a year…
Sorry to hear it,.....but better days are yet to come! God bless!
Very Preppy guys
Quite appropriate for the time. Any man should appropriate this song.
Friends don’t let friends clap on 1 and 3.
Who is the tall guy and what is his height?
Ed Cobb he was 6’3 or 6’4

Ruined by the clapping
Naturally, this was a live show 😅
