Hard to describe what I feel for this piano piece and for the whole soundtrack composed by Chikayo Fukuda, the woman who also composed the OSTs for all the other .hack// games (including G.U.).
I've recently been talking to dothack fans on youtube and the reddit community seems to be somewhat active so my dothack hype came back stronger than ever. I'm reading all the novels and planning on playing the games all over again :D
This video is an attempt to remind old fans of dothack how great this franchise still is, and maybe even get some new people on board :P

So many memories come back! What a great game, what a great story, definitely a legendary J-RPG. I hope to record more .hack// soundtrack music in the future~ Anyway this is kind of a test to get used to the new recording system I use.

@@PianoHaiku not at all! :) and most definitely we are haha, covers like this from a game not as well known to the world are a rare treat for us, so we'd always come back to watch them and enjoy them once again👌 (can't speak for all of us obviously lol but i know there are a handful of us that do)

I've been thinking about your comment for a while and it made me reflect on the sad state of dot hack as of 2019, which really matches the state of my channel as well... I'm having trouble finding a dot hack song that is piano only and does not already have a synthesia video up on youtube. I'll see what I can do but I can't promise much at the moment u.u Thanks for your comment, though.

Hi! Yes I'm alive indeed :P Not making piano videos anymore since I moved abroad 3 years ago and can only play the piano when I go visit my parents back in my home country... So it's difficult. Nowadays I only make original music and put it on soundcloud. I realize that's not what people subscribed to here so I don't use this channel that much nowadays :/ sorry. Might eventually come back or make slightly different music videos. Still thinking about it. Thanks for asking anyway :)
they have copyrighted all the videos from the actual game, but the thing about this song is that you can easily play it on piano yourself and upload it and it would sound the exact same lol

good lord this is my most favorite soundtrack in the game. the nostalgia... i want to buy a keyboard just to learn this. can u recommend any good keyboards? :D
Indeed so much nostalgia :) Keyboard recommendations will depend entirely on your budget and how serious you are about learning this instrument, but I would look for either a Yamaha or a Roland. The Yamaha P120 is really good for all levels but unfortunately no longer in production, maybe you can find it second hand somewhere. It is even used by really advanced players like Kyle Landry. If you go for an entry level digital piano try to make sure that it has weighted keys, which simulate the touch of a real piano. Avoid (if possible) anything with less than 88 keys as it is important to have the full range. Feel free to ask anything else if you need.

you are a champion to keep the .hack// awareness up and running! i love chikayo fukuda and her work. you did an awesome job. would love to hear a piano medley of her songs done by you. Hope of Dawn, Swaying Emotions, desktop theme, and maybe even a few other like Lost resolution(now known as Prepaired to Lose). ofcourse thats a lot to demand but still good job nonetheless
Hey thank you so much for the nice comment :) I will be back home for christmas fairly soon so I'll finally have access to my piano for a week or so. I can't take all those requests, but I might upload something dothack related :P All the songs you mention are among my favorites, the problem is some of them like Hope of Dawn or Lost Resolution are composed for choir so the arrangement for piano might not make them justice. I'll think about it.
PianoHaiku well like I said it would be more of a medley. But still I know it's a lot. Since the hd remake I've seen a lot more .hack// related things in the past 5 years when .hack// didn't have anything going for it. Especially in the states. So seeing people who have put out things while nothing was happening is really cool to see.
Went back home during the holidays only to find out the camera is broken... rip recording, rip channel. Another year till I can be back home again and play the piano ^^u Anyway, CC2 is about to release the company's vision for the next 10 years which will probably hint towards the next titles... If I'm not mistaken that's happening this month so there is hope for more dothack stuff being announced :P
