    Great review. I own one since 3 years, love it ! I have the same issue with the gates not aligning properly. I’ve solved that issue by using 4 trailer lock pins (2 for the front gate and 2 for the back gate). Since I remove both gates regularly, it’s very convenient. Cheers !

    Ben, Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a trailer, HEAVY DUTY is a. must. The frame of this trailer doesn't look all that stout and the sheet metal sounds like tin, not at all that heavy. Is it Chinese? If I pull the trigger, I'm going to ask for bare metal and get it hot dipped galvanized. IMO trailers are a waste of money unless galvanized. Your feedback would be appreciated.

    • @BenOfficial94
      @BenOfficial94 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For what it's worth it's advertised as made in Canada, not sure that means much these days. The sheet metal is perhaps a bit thin but I haven't had issues with it. However on heavy loads of green wood the tub of the trailer wants to flex outwards which causes the doors to fall out. That's why i opted to pin the front door in place with bolts, to brace the walls, and I then use a ratchet strap to hold the walls on the rear. That would be my only personal complaint about the trailer, I wish the tubing of the frame and tub were a bit heavier. I've heard from other people on TH-cam that the Range Road trailer is built more heavy duty than the MUTS and it is also galvanized, but I don't have personal experience with it.

    • @ericwiltz6584
      @ericwiltz6584 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you Bern. I'm looking at a trailer out of Idaho. Looks to be much heavier frame and sheet metal. I want a bare metal unit so I can get hot dipped galvanized. @@BenOfficial94

      They are 28x9.5-14. I put on a perfex 2" lift kit when i changed them. But you'd probably fit them without it. These tires (sti outback max)are very hard, though, and ride extremely rough at speed. But they work well for me because I'm just crawling around.

      It honestly started off very strong. There may be a reset procedure you could try if yours seems underpowered. It's interesting to see how you deal with the tree when it goes wrong. It happens to us all. I'd feel happier seeing you wearing some chainsaw pants and proper chainsaw boots instead of jeans and low leather boots. Working in the bush on your own is risky especially if you have an accident. Time to invest in some proper PPE, especially if you're tackling trees that size.

    Great to see you posting videos again. I'm just about to get back into firewood cutting again now the temperatures are a bit cooler. I see you're back wearing those leather boots, but would be good to see you in your rubber steel toe boots again when using your saw. Did you ever get a pair of the orange rubber chainsaw boots i recommended? If not your regular rubber boots would be good to see again with your pants over top to keep the sawdust out of course!

      Hello Again, Good to see you around. How are things? What saw you runnin for your firewood collection? I have not bought the boots you recommended, I have had a look at them and they do look like they'd be good for the inbetween periods in the fall when the wet snow falls. I might have to cave in and buy some. Thanks for your views and comments.

    • @mountainviewcattle
      @mountainviewcattle 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BenOfficial94 yes you should get a pair, you can also wear them as regular work boots with carhartts or jeans over top of them too. Hey if you do another video tomorrow can you wear your regular rubber boots instead of the leather ones? You used to wear the rubber ones in your earlier videos. i think they're better than the leather ones. I use a couple different chainsaws for firewood. MS290 for felling and then i think it's a MS311 for delimbing and bucking as it's lighter and easier to handle for long periods.

Tailgate is secured, allows the tailgate to pivot from the top when dumping or easily removed to haul longer logs. Heavy duty frame with 2000 lb. payload. It lists at $ 2,499 and includes a couple things that are extra on the Muts.
