    Look at the Woodland Mills Multilander model. Has a pivoting hitch, log loading function as part of the trailer, not extra. Tailgate is secured, allows the tailgate to pivot from the top when dumping or easily removed to haul longer logs. Heavy duty frame with 2000 lb. payload. It lists at $ 2,499 and includes a couple things that are extra on the Muts.

    Great review. I own one since 3 years, love it ! I have the same issue with the gates not aligning properly. I’ve solved that issue by using 4 trailer lock pins (2 for the front gate and 2 for the back gate). Since I remove both gates regularly, it’s very convenient.
    Cheers !

    I've had this same MUTS trailer since 2012... hauled a lot of firewood every year, and it's held up well... really like the walking beam design, and overall it's designed well... very efficient use of material, eg. you might look at the box hinge design (below the box) and think it looks kinda light... but so far no problems!

      I agree it does look a little light. I have a few things I'd like to modify a bit on it. But not sure when i will get to it. Thanks for your comment.

    Thanks for making the video. I was confused about how to instal the shovel/rake holders. Seeing your video gave me the answers I needed. I absolutely love this trailer but you're right, without a good and tight bungee cord a chainsaw is definitely moving around a hell of a lot in there.

    • @BenOfficial94
      @BenOfficial94  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've tried a few things to make the holder more useable. I feel like having no backing for the sawhead and a strong bar sheath might be a better setup. Like the "saw haul" or kimpex. But I've never used them.
      Glad you got some use out of my video

      @teddy21 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BenOfficial94 I use the chainsaw holder all the time but I just have to wrap the bungee cord super tight around the saw to make it work properly.

    • @BenOfficial94
      @BenOfficial94  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teddy21 yea thats true, I wrap a bungee around and put a rag in between the backstop and the clutch cover of the saw to keep if from getting banged up, still not a fan of it not having any bar guard. But for the price i could probably justify adding that on and making it more useable. But overall I'm not a huge fan of it.

    Hey Ben welcome back, I run a very similar single axle trailer made range road(Chinese ) so far I’m quite pleased with it I bought the ski kit for the winter and put the extended sides. Recently purchased a 2022 Polaris big boss 570 with high side extensions between the two of them combined I get a good jag of wood out of the bush.

    • @BenOfficial94
      @BenOfficial94  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Big boss is the 6x6 correct? That thing probably really pulls. Range road makes nice trailers. We don't usually get too much snow here so I haven't thought about getting skis for this trailer and the odd year the snow sets in my quad seems to really struggle with more than a foot of snow or so. Maybe I'd need tracks for it too haha.
      Thanks for the comment and stay safe

    2 years running and my gate has never jumped out. I've never even used the pins lol. Best trail I've ever had. Only issue I have is the hitch end is not long enough

    • @BenOfficial94
      @BenOfficial94  ปีที่แล้ว

      What're you pulling yours with where you find your hitch is too short? Mine sometimes gets very close to my bumper when i go through dips.

    Thanks for the review. I now know never to buy this trailer. Especially when the manufacturer said the hitch worked well enough.

      The hitch thing threw me a bit but overall it's still a good trailer. I just wish it had gate latches. But I do intend to fix that.

      Look up Woodland Mills trailer. They have a single axle and a dual axle as well. They are built really well. Let me know what you think.

      @BenOfficial94  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @6369crashie i had considered it as well back when i bought this one. They do look built well. If i recall correctly significantly heavier than the muts. The other brand I looked at was Range road. They look good too.

    Ben, did Larry offer to refund the hitch? I just received mine and will begin putting it together tomorrow. I live in Alberta and want to use it on the farm and for transporting Hay bales.
    Good video!

      @BenOfficial94  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Jeff,
      No Larry didn't offer a refund. The trailer will work well for hay bales, I've actually put a 4' by 4.5' round bale in mine with no issues. And I'm sure you're talking about square bales, haha.
      Thanks for your comment.

      Ben, can you still fit an 2 “ ATV hitch in the mount? Thanks for the round bale info as that is the reason I chose this trailer rather than buying a bale hauler. I wanted to do everything with my CANAM 850 year round.
      All the best!

    Ben, Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a trailer, HEAVY DUTY is a. must. The frame of this trailer doesn't look all that stout and the sheet metal sounds like tin, not at all that heavy. Is it Chinese? If I pull the trigger, I'm going to ask for bare metal and get it hot dipped galvanized. IMO trailers are a waste of money unless galvanized. Your feedback would be appreciated.

    • @BenOfficial94
      @BenOfficial94  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For what it's worth it's advertised as made in Canada, not sure that means much these days. The sheet metal is perhaps a bit thin but I haven't had issues with it. However on heavy loads of green wood the tub of the trailer wants to flex outwards which causes the doors to fall out. That's why i opted to pin the front door in place with bolts, to brace the walls, and I then use a ratchet strap to hold the walls on the rear. That would be my only personal complaint about the trailer, I wish the tubing of the frame and tub were a bit heavier. I've heard from other people on TH-cam that the Range Road trailer is built more heavy duty than the MUTS and it is also galvanized, but I don't have personal experience with it.

      Thank you Bern. I'm looking at a trailer out of Idaho. Looks to be much heavier frame and sheet metal. I want a bare metal unit so I can get hot dipped galvanized. @@BenOfficial94

      Fair enough. Overall I'm fairly happy with it. But they definitely are a chunk of money and I'm sure prices have gone up since i bought mine.
