There aren't many people who can say they saw these guys on the Here Comes Trouble tour twice....I can, on my birthday the first time too. Tommy was floating around the bar ahead of time, my friend ask him 'Are you gonna rock tonight' to which Tommy gave a very firm 'Nahhh!' I guess he'd also seen the Van Halen live video for Unchained a few too many times, because once on stage and wearing an identical glitter suit to David Lee Roth's one during that clip, he even mimicked Dave by drinking Jack Daniels from the bottle and repeatedly stating through the mic ''Look at all the people here tonight!' in a fake drunken stupor. For the next 50 minutes or so he would change his appearence, nun chicken etc...The band sound perfect live, so tight..They did 'Sweet Home Alabama' but kept playing it faster and faster until it was so stupidly fast I think Tommy just put his head in his hands ''Ok guys, I'm not good enough'. Mike Boyko didn't get enough spotlight and was complaining as always, and to think a drummer gets out in the back like that. And when they relleased Scamboogery I was devasted....Logic and Tastes Like Chicken are low passing grade tracks, the rest of the album a train wreck..... I think their 1st album deserves to be in the Rock n' Roll hall of fame for inovation, tightness and pertinence to solving the deep meanings of existence we frustratingly evolved apes need after developing through millions of years a brain stem capable of contemplating our very own lives. The second album is an overcomplicated mess, trying to enjoy it akin to having punch drunk sex in a music festival port-a-john that has been used so much it could be used to torture nuclear codes out of the President...oh...yeah...I'm sure smarter minds have intervened with that one but you get what I'm saying. There is a Live Performance audio of a Here Comes Trouble tour date on TH-cam, and it is crap quality recording but you can still hear how together this band was...so amazingly tight. Wow I wrote shitloads, time to go!

Love BH but this was really, really sad. Seeing play to backing tracks again, live on stage....wow, sad. Then the live stuff with his "band" was completely void of any energy or dynamics. The bass player looked pained as he carefully tiptoed his way thru the set, I am sure at BH direction. The drummer was completely lifeless and looked like someone just learning the instrument. There was ZERO chemistry between the players. This was a sterilized, disinfected, lifeless, comatose performance. I would expect this level from a kid band playing in a garage. But even them there would be a more energy and angst. BH used to play his entire set with a backing track and this was just as bad. Buckethead, until you bring in world class musicians to surround yourself ...and let them breath some life into the songs, you are going to keep playing these little nothing gigs for a few dozen people. You are regarded as a good technical player but until you realize that great music is more than the sum of its parts you will continue to languish in obscurity.

I was at his concert in May, what an amazing musician. I never felt in my entire life that I experienced listening and seeing buckethead. Blessings to breathe same air at same time with live legend .

Only discovered Buckethead two years ago and now I can't listen to much else. Although I like a lot of his gentler stuff more than the heaviosity I attended this show and was completely blown away. My first time seeing him live and first time visiting Quarry Park in Rocklin, CA. Very cool venue. The bassist (fretless!) and drummer were in the pocket all evening and the young singer was excellent (Anyone know her name?). His version of Soothsayer at this show was the best I've heard even though there are tons of versions on TH-cam. I'm 72 and saw Jimi Hendrix live in Sacramento in '68 and saw Cream live the same year. I've been listening to all kinds of music since I was little and there are only a handful of artists that move me like this man. Some of his songs (especially on the album Electric Tears) cause me to weep for seemingly no reason. I mean how many rockers dedicate multiple songs to their parents or Aunt? He is an utterly unique individual and I feel honored to be alive while he is here on Earth.

I missed out hard not going to this, but thankfully you filmed it so I can watch at home in bed...thank you!
