I thought about getting this, but since unclear if it will have a LO setting I decided to pre-order a FiiO/Jade Audio JM21 instead, which is more on par with the Hiby R4 & using Dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs with better stronger amps than the R4 & newer qualcomm processor that is more efficient, its only $179 and 75g lighter than the R4.

Thank you for the nice talk. I'm specifically looking for Mp3s that won't run on Android, because those that have Android apps - I assume that those will also run ads all the time... If I wanted ads, then I don't need to have my own Mp3 and I can stream from my mobile. I'm 57 and I don't want any more ads anywhere. I've already watched enough of them. Music and my ears - that's an intimacy that nothing should disturb. On TH-cam, they'll just fart ads in the middle of a concert. So, only their own OS.

The problem with this budget daps is the UI. Better to go to ebay and buy a used LG V30, or other LG phones with the quad dac.

Can I get the R4 to play music on my plex via symfonium? I can't get internet outside my home with mine.

Question: on the hibymusic app, does incremental scan remove shortcuts for files that I deleted from another device or does it only add new files that it sees?

Does the R1 handle podcasts very well/at all? Didn't see a dedicated player for it in the UI so I'd imagine i'd have to play them like songs, but specifically wondering if a podcast would have the spot saved if I were to stop listening to it? Great review!

Weak, less than cost, don,t suggest.

I just got it yesterday and love it so far, but I have the following issues. First, when I connect it to do file transfer, my Mac doesn’t recognize the R1 as a USB drive. The second issue I found is that the time settings seem to reset after turning off and turning on the R1. Do y’all think these issues will be fixed with an update by HiBy, or do y’all know a current fix? I appreciate any comment. Thanks! 😊

I was somewhat disappointed by this until I saw this video. At 54 it felt really limited. Once I found that and the Soundfield settings, that really opened everything up and this is a lot of fun. Not the best on the market, but definitely the best value.

I don't understand the technical part of this stuff at all. Do you know know if my 250 ohm impedance HD58Xs with a USB-C cable would work just fine with the power output this thing has? From what you said, it sounds like a yes but again I'm clueless. The rest of the review was super helpful.
