WOW! I never comment on TH-cam videos, but you are the first person I've found after dealing with SD symptoms for the past six years who NAILED every single thing I've been dealing with, not realizing just how interconnected they all are (especially the neck/shoulder pain and menstrual dysregulation being connected to my voice issues - what a revelation!). I am absolutely signing up for the Vocal Freedom Program and cannot wait to reset my nervous system and find the relief and healing I have been seeking for the last 5-6 years! THANK YOU!!

I have a quick question….do you think it’s wise to let people know that you have SD specially in the work place, in meetings and such so they know to ask if something is not understood or if I need to repeat myself? I’m still trying to figure all of this out.

Came here after seeing Robert Kennedy on Bill Maher last week, seeing that something was obviously not normal with his voice. So I wanted to learn more! Hearing what you're saying, it made me remember a time period in my life where I found it very difficult to talk, the vocal tension you speak of, to the point of me even sharing with my friends how I found it very straining to try to speak in a connected way. Not surprisingly, this was during an abusive relationship. I love to sing, and I remember not being able to sing below a certain lower threshold during that time, the tension would keep my pitch elevated, its like my larynx would not RELAX ... Well its incredible, now that I'm in a very relaxed, accepting relationship - I can sing in SUCH a lower register! I can sing songs I've never been able to sing before... The low notes of Sam Smith, Shawn Mendes - I could never reach them before. Now I can sing lower than most women I know! (I have an affinity for lower register women's voices like Stevie Nicks and Miley Cyrus). Its quite fun!! 🥰 So to echo the message of this video - there is definitely a portion if not all of this condition that is connected to your state of mind! Treat the mind + body in a holistic way 🧘‍♀️ Look into Holistic Psychology as well! Blessings to all 🙏

Wonderful video- You described exactly what it is I have been experiencing for about 18 months. I would say I am in late stage 2, but slowly getting better. I have been scoped, and am seeing a speech pathologist, but stumbled over a thing that has helped a lot and I have never heard mentioned. I realized I couldn't whistle( and I always loved whistling) I started stretching my tongue...sticking it out as far as I can and holding it there and then side to side...it has helped immensely...and I can whistle and my muscle tension issue has begun to relax...now going down the rabbit hole and watching all your vids. Thank you very much.

What if the sides of your rib cage feel like they’re trying to cave in on you and your middle back begins to feel like a knife is being dug into your spine while you low back spasms and your anus tightens? Sometimes this all happens at the same time and I don’t feel like I am getting a full breath cuz my throat grabs when I inhale and I’m really freaking tired of living like this.

Hi all - I too had a thyroplasty Type 2 in 2005 and went down the botox road - which I stopped. I have been doing the exercises for my neck and back since subscribing. Yes - there is definite improvement - my left side neck which has been so tight for 32 years is loosening. I have done breathing exercises for years, but it is the combination of treatments that is helping. Love you all - keep going! Maddy
