Not too many so called enthusiasts seem to be interested in the history of GMT watches. Anyone complaining about too much gilt, BB58 GMT is basically the GMT-Master 6542 Bakelite, Rolex’s very first GMT watch.
Awfully ugly watch and way too big for you
MAMACOO's always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of watch 99% of people will never see.
18mm hard to find straps??? WWWWHAT!!
New subscriber here. Digging your videos so far! Be interesting to know if conclusion would change with secondary market price as anchor. Batman might still win the comparison but I personally can never justify rolex over other similarly priced watch out there given the elevated hype yet rather common among my circle
Thanks for the support man! I think for the price, the monta is excellent. But if price is no bar, the Rolex is just superior in every metric. But I agree, it's pretty common.
in india there is a titan eventurine dial with property automatic movements @+ or - 20 s 500 usd
I like the titanium version more…
The ice blue doesn't look as good in the waffle style.

My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
Tsuyosa is nice but Zenshin is superior.
The twelve doesn't even compare to the PRX realistically speaking.

Do you prefer Tiffany blue? And tiki masala or butter chicken? Sorry I had to ask your preference!

It's hard man. You need to find a good reseller online
Since I’m based in US Homie, all you would have to do is go to citizens website and you would get it in like three or four days
When I got it in early 2023, it wasn't available in the US. Had to import it from Japan or find an online seller

Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for MAMACOO watch makers
Hi.. which AD did you get the watch from? I registered my interest in a date just at the AD in Sewickley last month.. just wanted to see if you have any advise regarding what effort I should put in to get the watch-- visit the AD monthly? email them just for follow up? any tips appreciated.. Thanks :)
@@tavankitsingh I've been to the Sewickley AD. They're pretty nice. I would just drop by every other month and let them know you're seriously interested in the watch. I think you'll get the call for a Datejust within a few months
@@TheWatchOut Thank you so much for your advise
It would be so much better if the date was at 6 o'clock and the PRX Powermax 80 was deleted.
True that
I think the proportions of the BB58 GMT are more attractive than the proportions of the current Rolex GMT Master. The thinner aluminum bezel on the Tudor suits the watch's vintage vibes and looks very appropriately sized to the case and dial.
Fair. It's subjective after all
I got the black chameleon dial. You don't even know about that
Funny. This is the ONLY Tudor that does anything for me. The gilt is the star of the show, not a negative imo. I also don’t understand the criticism of the hands. They don’t look similar at all. The seconds hand has a lollipop and the GMT hand has a diamond. The GMT hand’s diamond is smaller and extends farther than the hour hand’s snowflake. Shouldn’t be any legibility issues. Lastly, the watch looks great on your wrist! It might be the max you can pull off, but it still works wonderfully.
The hands look similar to me, especially when looking at them at a glance. The gilt is fine, but a touch too much to me. I agree that it doesn't look bad on me. I just felt that it would've looked better had it been a couple of mm smaller.
Nice review video on the WSTA0044. May I check where did you buy the mesh bracelet and what brand is it? Is it 15mm or 16mm? Thanks
Glad you liked it! I just got it from amazon. I honestly don't remember which brand or seller. Just looked for 16mm mesh bracelets.
@@TheWatchOut your ostrich leather strap is quite cool. Is it also 16mm?
@@GoldfishAquarium-l2j Yup it is
The gilt and faux rivet bracelet works with the black bay 54, because for the first time in modern Tudor history, the 54 closely resembles the watch it's mirroring: Tudor reference 7922 submariner. The vintage styling somewhat works with the BB58 and BB41... I guess. A BB58 GMT with all the vintage fixtures, too? I don't know. At this point - and for some time now - the wristwatch community has grown tired of Tudor's use of gilt and the faux rivet oyster bracelets. The BB41 refresh, with its monochrome scheme and 5-link bracelet, was, well, refreshing. Apart from the Pelagos range - Tudor's modern range of dive watches - it was the first time we seen the Black Bay depart from gilt and faux rivets; therefore, it offered something modern in appearance. Nice! We need more of that. Unfortunately, Tudor has become a one trick pony: modern-vintage Black Bay (black bay GMT, dive, and chronograph), or as Tristano of TGV says, the "Crack Bay." I love Tudor, even more so than Rolex. I am growing increasing dissatisfied with the brand for these reasons and more (e.g. QC issues).
The dark blue on the CW 12 is so damn beautiful.
Yeah. I love the ice blue and the dark blue
I would never by a Tudor. Always buy Rolexes if you buy any watches
@@forwork2601 I don't share this opinion. I love Tudor, and I think they're mostly good value for what they offer
Smaller straps - the end hangs way out on you.
I’d go with a small for your wrist size
You talk about the Tudor being too large but then you get a GMT Master 2 which is larger and you’re fine with the Rolex. You just contradicted yourself. Sorry but you lost any credibility with me
The GMT Master is 2mm longer than the Tudor in terms of lug to lug. Plus it's thinner. It essentially wears the same. And, even that is on the large side for me. I never said it wears smaller.
What a silly video. The Monta looks like an Al Exp watch. Very poor design. Very basic strap. In a later review he slags off the Tudor 58 GMT, mainly for it's size, and it's sharp edges!!! Yet this watch, 2 mm larger, is fine. Plus you're paying $3K for a Selitta movement. And your stealing "The Mad Watch Collector's" wife reaction thing. Your reviews are verging on legally actionable. My advice to you, is to "Watch Out"!
@@verynormalman you're free to not watch them man. Good luck
@TheWatchOut Of course the best solution is that I hope you'll stop making such rubbish. But I doubt that. I won't watch anymore.
Stupidity beyond belief. A negative review by a small man. The watch is the size it is. It presents in very muted colours. But a 1mm super shiny larger watch, in garish colours is somehow fine. BUT the thing that really annoys me, is that he has clearly bought this watch, with full intention of returning (using Tudor generous T&Cs). Some silly ass playing with a watch, that someone will eventually pay good money for. And then we had an advert for some polyester clothing. If you are a man who likes synthetic trousers and shirts, then buy a Rolex GMT? You can lie to yourself, but not to me.
Bit to big for your wrist
Tudor are too thick
Yeah usually. But the BB54 is quite slim. And this Gmt is much slimmer than the previous GMT.
Many things are thick?
Your “negatives” are invalid. The seconds hand has no resemblance whatsoever to the GMT hand … the seconds hand is a circle while the GMT hand is snowflake shaped and placed at the outer edge of the dial versus the circle which is placed differently and closer to the center of the dial. The bezel action is flawless as every Rolex and Tudor bezel’s are. Also, most men have wrists bigger than your girly pencil wrists so the fact that you think this is a negative is laughable. Your last “negative” as being “redundant” only applies to you and nobody cares.
Lol. Why are you so offended by my opinion? 😂 Most of this is subjective anyway. What's not subjective is that many Rolex and Tudor bezels are not in fact flawless. Both the GMT Master 2 and BB58 GMT bezel actions are mediocre.
I’m not offended. Your opinions don’t matter as your experience is not reality for anyone else. My Rolex Sea-Dweller 43 and its bezel action are flawless. That’s a fact.
Also, I’ve owned many Rolex’s and Tudor’s. Their bezel actions are both flawless. I’ve had them and or at least handled them all.
@@ShaunKVideos The bezel action on the sea dweller and the GMT is not the same. The action on the dive watches is amazing. Not so much on the GMT's
I also have a Root Beer and a Yachtmaster 40mm Slate dial and the bezel action is flawless on both of them as well. Forgot to mention that but now you know.
You’re the target market for the BB54 - smaller male wrist customer. Perfect! I have 6.5 inch wrists but prefer my watches to wear smaller so this Tudor is still too large for me
Yeah, I am the perfect customer for a BB54. But I think most people can rock it because the size is so good
@ agreed. 37mm also a good size for women!
Why did you buy the watch if you didn't like the design? "Let's be real."
I bought it because I wanted to own it and experience it before passing judgement. And I also wanted to review it and compare it with the Monta and Rolex GMTs.
In other words you coudnt get it loaned from an AD to create content so you purchased, did a vid and got a refund. Standard
@@carlmoulton5719 I went gray for the watch. Bought it from a seller online and sold it online again.
@@carlmoulton5719lol gottem
Excellent review. I have the Tudor GMT 41 Pepsi that everyone loves to hate because of the thickness. I love this watch because it’s legible and the red GMT hand just pops, and it doesn’t attract too much attention when traveling. Especially when I have it on a Rubber B strap with the Tudor deployant buckle.
Hahaha, yeah that's a thicc boi. But it's a good looking watch. Wear it in good health
Your point on the design being flawed by the gold accents may be true. However, Tudor GMT's in my opinion that do not have gold accents sort of look like a dive watch AKA Black Bay with a GMT complication. This gold accent differentiates the GMT from the dive watch range. Some may argue that why doesn't Rolex's GMT (Pepsi) look like a dive watch, the answer is very simple, it is Rolex, they have put that design in front of our face for over half a century now. This GMT is the one GMT I would get, very reminiscent of the nipple dial, the root beer GMT from Rolex and so on, it has a warmth to it that works. It will be a classic, I am very sure of it. However, your taste is your taste, will all have our own interpretation of a design. It is better to get rid of it than not but do give it time, I am talking like a year. as you progress in the hobby and keep going back to the watch, it may just be something you desire as your senses get more exposed to similar watches as well as not similar watches.
Very well said. You have a totally valid opinion. And I said in the video, I think this watch will work great for most people. Just not my kind of look.
I agree with the guilt overload, the colour throws me off too but saying the BB is slightly big then you bring out the even bigger Batgirl 🤔
Yeah, the Batgirl is also on the large side for me unfortunately. But the BB58 GMT and Batgirl wear the same, because the lug to lug is almost the same
Sounds like you bought the watch blindfolded😂
Wouldn’t the Rolex GMT be too big as per your criticism on the black bay GMT?
@@cesarromero2391 Yes, it is on the bigger side for me. It wears just like the Tudor GMT. They have almost the same lug to lug
So refreshing to see someone actually highlight the flaws of the Blackbay GMT rather than blindly praising it all the time. Great video!
I tried to be honest instead of sugarcoating it 🙏🏼
@pj_watches Sorry, no. His opinions not flaws. 6 inch wrist and it wears big....Really, no s... sherlock! Like I say did you buy this watch blindfolded?
@@jazmulzer4710wow..offended much?
The clothing is awful, looks like Walmart. If you don’t like all these things, and the size wasn’t right why do you buy it? But then you keep showing a picture of a Rolex Gmt, which is a larger watch. You don’t make any sense. No wonder why so a few people watch your videos
Cheer up mate
@@antonyreyn I think it's fair comment. The polyester clothing is horrid. His slagging off, for the reason of size is imbecilic. The claim of sharp edges, is verging on legally actionable.
Great, honest review. I too have a 6” wrist! I find the clasp on my BB58 to be effectively huge on the underside of my wrist. Limited articulation of the link closest to the clasp & the long scissor arms cause this. I actually have my BB58 on a Forstner O bracelet. How was the T-Fit clasp in this respect? Does it articulate better?
Thank you! To be honest, I did not find the clasp to be that big. I think the links articulate pretty well and the bracelet still felt comfortable
Thank you for your honest review. I as well sport a batgirl, bought a FXD GMT last week which has become my daily driver as the batgirl does attract bit too much attention to my liking. Was at my Tudor AD yesterday (, to folllow up on my enquiry about the BB Pink Chrono) and they made a casual remark about the BB GMT that there's a pretty long waiting list. That naturally piqued my interest. Been binge youtubing it for hours and your video and the other one of you comparing the Montana, Tudor and Rolex are very informative. Saves me the trouble of going back to my Tudor ADs and checking the GMT in the flesh. I'd still pine for the Pink Chrono though (had the blue chrono on my wrist few months back, it was gorgeous but albeit bit too thick of a case). Keep up the good work and once again tq
@@seanyuen340 I'm really glad you found the videos useful. I've been to 3-4 ADs now where I've seen the Blackbay GMT readily available. Some places even had both rubber and bracelet options. I really love the look of the new, blue Tudor Chrono, but I think that's going to be just too big for my liking. I've seen the pink only once and it's such a unique watch. Hope you get the call for that one soon 🤞🏼
When i pause at 7:42 i can see your BB54 has misaligned pip and 12 hour marker, for that price it's unacceptable. That laurier looks flawless, the caliber isn't the most appealing though.
According to Tudor, that's within the acceptable deviation for the lume pip. On a day to day basis, it doesn't bother me. The Lorier is really good value for money though!
