I agree that the watch does not look too bad in the video. But just the sheer size of the lugs compared to the case made the watch feel weird on my wrist. I don't know...but couldn't shake off that feeling despite wearing the watch for a few weeks.
I don’t know why but the saber tooth like lugs actually compliment your wrist quite a lot. Gives it a more utilitarian appeal. If you prefer shorter lug watches then I suggest trying MING or Jack Mason or Junghans.
@@TheWatchOut I too have a 6 inch wrist & struggle with most watches to look appropriate. My MING 18.01 wears perfectly for my size because the flared lugs give it a smaller profile, the 17.09 however have the underside of the lugs blend into the side case which allows the abrupt twist to make it look smaller than it is. Jack Mason do a great job, highly recommend it as well as their cushioned cases are tight. I like your content. Subscribed! :)
I had the same issue on my 6 1/2 inch wrist. What i discovered is the their wire lugs added much better for smaller wrists. They are short and also curve down. My nomos Metro power reserve fits wonderfully!
Lug width is not an issue. Plenty of 18, 19 mm strap options available on Amazon. If I could change one thing, it would be to add a crown guard to the case.
The lug length is really holding Nomos back. I dont get their thinking. I have a large wrist and wouldn't like those long lugs. Weird design. I like the Club Sport.
Thank you very much for your honest feedback. Among watch enthusiasts, the outer lug size and the lugs of NOMOS watches are the subject of much debate. One of the reasons for this is the variety of shapes of NOMOS lugs-and for that matter, the watch cases. Each watch model from NOMOS Glashütte has a different case, with the lugs as an integral part of the overall design.
Thanks for your comment. I can understand the reasoning, but I hope that some day more lugs will be smaller so that a larger audience can enjoy your amazing watches.
Your comment is a bit hard to understand for me, bur my take is that Nomos simply has these long lugs because you like that design. That's fine, but the watch case of the Club Campus would in my opinion suit just as good with smaller lugs, I very much like the design of the watches (the case and dials) but for me the lugs detonate. I would surely buy a Club Campus if the lugs were much shorter.
Might be a personal gripe, but I just don't like how much gap there is between the watch face and the strap. I wouldn't find it very attractive to look down at my watch and see a clump of arm hair peeking out from the gap.
Agree 100% I went into this video expecting to hear Nit-picking because of the thumbnail but those lugs doesn’t look good on your wrist size. It’s like wearing XL shirt with a M size body. Same issue I have on Hamilton KKF.
The long lugs are a feature of this model. For my 7 3/8” wrist it suits me well as it gives a small watch a bit more presence. But I can see how it might be a problem for people with wrists smaller than 6 1/2”.
I have a version of this watch, with slightly larger wrists than you - and i love the longer lugs. They conform around my wrist perfectly and it’s my most comfortable watch 😅. I have an explorer and other famous luxury watches, but this is the one that gets a lot of wrist time. The straps nomos sells are amazing too, especially with the deployant clasp
I agree the lugs are too long otherwise the watch is very nice especially for quality brand like Nomos. The bracelet looked perfect with other Nomos with green dial.
I agree if you don’t like the lugs. $1500 may be low for luxury watches, but it’s still a lot of money. I have a Club Campus 38mm but I have an 8” wrist. It works well for me.
I personally think it looks good on you man. I’ve spoken to Nomos and they told me they would not slim down the lugs as that’s their “design language”. However if you personally don’t like how the watch fits, then definitely move on. Keep up the great work man 👍🏼
Hey, thanks man! Pleasantly surprised to see you here :) And yes, I agree with you. It doesn't look terrible on video, but I just don't like how it wears personally
Every Nomos review has a large number of negative comments regarding the lug lengths. I'm in complete agreement. I've sold two of my Nomos watches because the lug length made the watch wear too big.
Couldn’t agree more, I was just about to purchase a nomos club however the overlay large lugs put me off and went for a Christopher ward 12, and I have to say LOVE YOUR CHANNEL’S NAME! what a clever name play 😂😂
Had the 38mm version and the lugs did not bother me much with my 17cm wrist. What made me sell it was the crown. Its way to ”sharp” and hurted me on a regular basis. That even though i wore mine on my right wrist since im a lefty.
I thought the 37mm club sport and the 36mm club campus had similar/same lug design? I’m thinking about getting a club sport even though i have a club campus
@@polygoncoco The lugs on the club sport have a downward curve to them, and I find that they conform nicely to the wrist. On the other hand, the club campus has straight lugs which stick out.
@@TheWatchOut the lugs on my campus curve down just a little bit, I guess they’re more exaggerated on the club sport. Will have to see when I can try one on
The dress watch movement in a sports watch inspiring case…with 100atm. The movement is extremely fragile and SUPER subject to magnetism. I like the alpha movement in all of their dress watches because it doesn’t pretend to be what it isn’t, you know it’s a delicate dress movement. Google how easily the alpha movement gets magnetized…its a problem.
im not sure man it looked good imho. I just got the 38mm in nonstop red and i have a 6.75in wrist. I know not all watches and wrists are meant for each other, but this looked fine on you. Ignore the problem of the watch strap's lugs, because before buying, buyers should directly get their hands on and experience it. Because Nomos also has many different watch lines to choose from. @@TheWatchOut Agreed. I have faced this same problem and had to sell my Neomatik for the same reason. And when it comes to brand identity, it doesn't make sense as Nomos make the Minimatik with much shorter and more proportional lugs too. Great video by the way!
