Awesome as I will give it a go today
I have already tried this method. The squirrels just chew through the branch fruit drops clam shell pops open and they retrieve the prize. It does work for birds. My recommendation is to not plant your fruit trees near large trees they nest in or any tree that they normally scavenge for nuts.
I've had a peach tree for years and the one that ate them were the squirrel. I'm trying your Idea, did some and I will do more when I have the containers. That you for posting this
Planting a tree around water or utility lines is not a good idea.
How many boards did anyone use?
👏👏👏
Parabéns muito bom alimentos saudáveis sem agrotóxicos.❤❤
Morangos tem muitos agrotoxicos nos mercados!
This is a great idea. Thank you for sharing!
nice idea!
Good idea..I only wish there were big enough containers for a branch of cherries...lol
I just lost all my apples to the deers. They stuck their head over my lil gate and net. Then they got me for my peach tree. Didn't even leave a branch or leaf standing😢
Awesome. I was debating on what to use to fix mine. This was definitely one of the best ideas.
Fantastic idea. I'm going to give it a go next year. Just had a coon eat 25 peaches off my one tree in the backyard. Thank you.
I have a swing just like this. Now I know how to do it and the stuff I need. Thanks a whole lot!!
Awesome…. What size boards did you use? Is it 5in wide by 3/4 thick?
I think it is half inch thick. I don't remember the width.
I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for a great idea!
Smart
The worm at 4:59 is most probably a pest and they are not helping with compost.
Great idea! Going to give it a try on my mango tree, thanks for sharing! =)
Can I use sandwich bag to wrap the fruits?
Possibly, but they should be transparent for the sun to go through, and you also have to be careful with the heat. If it is too hot there, flimsy plastic may melt.
This man's composting is on point but that hose nozzle tried to ambush him upon spraying.🤣
Definitely trying this thanks
You did a nice job on the swing in an outstanding job as well on your video explaining exactly what you did.
Thanks!
I found this video because I was looking for a solution for the same problem, but with squirrels eating my apples. I live in the south where apple trees don’t grow as tall as they do up north, so I am going to try this method. Thank you!
Nice job!
best idea I've seen yet and so practical! Love it!! Gosh, have none on hand, shall put thinking cap on and see how I can get some over weekend!
Very nice
We have two peach trees in our yard that we've had for 9 plus years. We've never had a single peach! I tried this container method and if they don't chew through it the peach ends up falling off the tree while they attempt to get it. There are oak trees all around the neighborhood what's squirrel nest one being in our backyard. And now our neighbors have peach trees in their yards as well. It's terrible it's so damn hard to grow ANYTHING because of these bastards. I had a greenhouse and they chewed that too. 🤬ING squirrels?
FYI, caterpillars do not lay eggs.
great example for the kids, how to be caring with nature!
Phenomenal video!! Thanks for the details
Awesome 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏I’ll start saving now and ask family members to thank you
What can you use to clean up the frame? Spray paint or a something else?
We just cleaned them, sanded, and spray painted.
@@self-sufficienturbangarden5009 thank you for that.
@@self-sufficienturbangarden5009 how many total boards?
if you cut a drop shaped hole in the side of a bottle, you will not need a mechanism.
I have my pepper plants indoors and aphids are just starting to increase. The DE after several days have absolutely no effect on aphids on top of leaves. It is also hard to treat the undersides of the leaves since the DE won't stick.
Those worms are dangerous or not??
Can someone make for me the same kind
Thank you for your video! Ants are friends of aphids - they bring the aphids up the plant and then stay to protect them. When the aphid eats your plant they expel the liquid and that is food for ants.
Great idea, I've been struggling with these issues for a few years so thank you very much for your advice.
Why on earth would you allow worms to grow up to lay more eggs on your plants?
This year, I had big peaches and many of them. My bone of contention is the worms. They probably can go through the containers. I lose about 20 percent of my peaches because of the worms. Luckily, I get so many that I can afford losing that percentage.
As soon as I saw this i rushed to my pantry and got them and immediately covered my passion fruit. Hopefully they will keep the monkeys and birds away.
I hope it works for you!
Squirrels ate all my four hazelnut trees every year. The trees with many thick branches , very tall . And squirrels ate too early and drop all over the places on the Grounds. Really messy. They used to take and bring to dig but now? Squirrels , birds, chipmunks are my cherry trees. The cherry trees are talk. Impossible to cover…. I put silver tiling or a blow up beach ball or … Still not working. As well as blueberries. Mostly I can cover blueberries. Those animals live at the wrong places!
Nature at work is fascinating. I have one glass side only on compost area for observation.
Very attractive
Just kill the damn caterpillars.
Thanks for the great information!:)
Just genius!
Putting 60 of these on my tree is insane...LOL it's way too time consuming and where do i buy 60 of them? A squirrel will eat them in no time.
