@@kaimes6728 All depends where your located. If wellington I'd still use a sand grabbing sinker as you want to cast far and set the sinker. If rock fishing far north and berlying sometimes no sinkers and stray line. Depends on what's on the sea floor too if it's weedy as where your casting to I wouldn't use a sand grabber. I'm not an expert but this is what I've gathered I'm always still learning too can never stop learning well fishing every day fishing is a day learning even for me. Hope this helps.

@@theswayze1303 definitely worth a go the feeling of landing a good fish landbased is like no other. Pick up some crayfish in there and bait cotton.

@@WakaHaro you could put the hook in the side and bait cotton the ruck out of it but I generally don't throw half pillies in the lower north wellington big baits will catch you a kahawai or a stingray 95% of the time.

@@kaimes6728 hey thanks man. Fishing in weedy areas there is always that chance of loosing your gear make sure to bring a few rigs. I have a guide where I show what rigs I use how to tie them and all the gear is linked in the description have a look through my videos and check it out. Also when winding in make sure to wind in quickly to keep your rig as high as possible in the water column so it clears the weeds best of luck out there!

​@dwhatsfishing I went out on Boxing day well past the south end of Kapiti island. The birds and dolphins were hunting something but the swell was massive and I thought if the wind gets up I'd be in trouble so I turned around for home to fish another day. I wanted to get a tuna.

@brianbarnard7004 your so game in your inflatable it's pretty crazy how far you go in it. Be safe out there! If you tick off a tuna in that thing I'll.be blown away. I got a tuna once with a friend but we were sooooo far out in his bigger boat

@@jessicahudson7760 I always position mine 1-4 winds off the bottom and drift. Can always drop one down on anchorage they have the added bonus of catching dory's etc I don't want to bump the bottom too much because that can tangle the assist hooks around the mainline. @@hideous9 Hey thanks man yea I do because you never know what could come along don't want to be serverly under gunned when a stray kingfish or big snapper moki or rig takes your bait plus get snagged in the weeds you will get it back with 60lb you may not get it back with 40. Also general wear and tear it should last a few fish I find myself changing out rigs even with 60lb due to chaffing and spiky fish and rock fishing. If you feel more comfortable with less than 60lb go for it. One snapper or gurnard rubs against 40lb trace and you don't notice your loosing the next fish.
