      Thanks so much! That would be an excellent video topic. I definitely have some ideas on it. In the mean time…packing tape will work wonders for keeping beads from scattering all over. Make sure they are in containers (lids work great too) and taped up with packing tape. It helps!

    Great interview! I looked into them based on one of your earlier videos. I originally bought a huge pack of different colors of minis from Artkal. I love their beads, especially the color selection. When I found out that TopTier Beads had the same colors, I decided to give them a try as I was not sure if these beads would match. The bead colors matched from Artkal I already had (which is what I was worried about and didn't know about their partnership) PLUS the delivery was very fast. Not to mention the resealable bags are very handy. Highly recommend them also. Thanks again, Nick for some great videos. Love your work!!!

Not to sell , just for my family. I also plan to enter a collection of my fuze bead creations into the Washington State Fair next year I'm their hobby section. I saw one creation there this year. I plan to make a stand out peice if I can. And one last thing. I think you should do a video of you creating your own original price that is a medium sized piece. Maybe like 16x16

    I was excited to try the mini beads a year or two ago. I went all in and bought a multi-pack like you did, plus lots of other colors. I really disliked it. I tend to use my fingers to place most beads and with slight movements get them aligned with tweezers. I felt so clumsy and it took forever to use the mini beads. I then melted the heck out of them. Back on the shelf they went. I'd purchased materials to make earrings and thought it would be fun to do but quickly changed my mind. Nice job out of the gate.

    Nice job Ryan. Liked the spooky series. Made a Simon Belmont of my own. Would like to see some 16-bit sprites done. Richter Belmont and Alucard have always been on my list to make, but they are a “bit” more complex than 8-bit sprites and require more colors to bring out the contrast. Any plans to do a video with tips on doing 16-bit sprites?

    • @nostalgicnicknacks
      @nostalgicnicknacks 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I love the sprite art in all the pixel Castlevania games! 16-bit is most definitely where it's at. Yes, I'll make a video showing how to do more complex sprites soon. Yes, with the more complex sprites...comes more shades and variations so it can get tricky, but I'll definitely have another video at some point with the 16-bit sprites. If you want to share your Simon Belmont, send a picture to nostalgicnicknack@gmail.com and I'll feature it in a future video, if you'd like! Thanks for checking out the series and thank you for your comments! Glad you've enjoyed it. More to come! - Ryan

    I loved the Legend of Zelda on the NES and I bet I could probably find most of the levels and heart containers and beat it still today. 2nd quest I highly doubt. So it makes since I'd love A Link to the Past but I never played it despite having a SNES and close to 20 games. Seeing the love for it like this makes to want to carve out some time and fire up the SNES mini and see what happens. Fun video.

    It's interesting - I'm of the age where I played the original NES quite a bit, but there are a couple seminal games I never played. Ghosts n' Goblins is one of them. The mini history lesson is super fun as well as the sprites come to life. Fun to see. Do you have an Instagram account? I recently started posting pixel art there and what you do would translate well there too.

    Would you please do a bend test on both versions? I prefer open version, but they broke very easy. To use them as keychains, I've found that full melt is much better. But could it be that I'm doing something wrong in the melting process? Or could it be the perler brand? I only find cheap chinese brands where I live

    • @nostalgicnicknacks
      @nostalgicnicknacks 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey, thanks so much for your comment! That’s a great idea. Thank you for the suggestion. I will definitely do a bend test for another video! Yes, a full melt definitely does better for keychains. The open version definitely breaks easier if you really try to break them depends on how long you’re ironing them of course and how fused together the beats are. The brand of the bead also matters a ton. The cheap brands will definitely be more fragile because they are not Made with the same materials. You can have cheaper plastic, of course. I would recommend going with perler beads or toptier beads for some great consistent melting. 🫠 I think I’m going to do a video eventually that compares cheaper beads to the top brands.

    The thing I appreciate the most on the channel is the stands that you make. When I do projects I use the tape method and only iron one side. The downfall of that approach is nothing fits right in a stand. the melting isn't exactly symmetrical. I've learned that if I make something with a stand, I need to do a gentle iron on both sides as you do. Lean into the stands as a unique thing with your channel. It's really cool.

    • @nostalgicnicknacks
      @nostalgicnicknacks หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate it. The super-cool thing about stands is that they are unique and provide a great way to display your creations! Especially considering there are so many super expensive figures out there. Instead of buying those expensive ones, why not make your own? I will definitely lean into stands with all of my videos as I am already leaning in that direction. Thanks again for your comments and let me know if you have any suggestions for future videos or franchises you’d like to see featured. 😀👍🏻 Happy beading! - Ryan

    • @nostalgicnicknacks

      Hey! 👋🏻 Thanks so much for your comment! Great question. I get the sprite/lpixel art from a website called spritersresource.com I then transfer the image file to a bead pattern, I use an app called beaditHD (however it’s no longer downloadable) other great apps are beadscreator or perlpop. I can also email you the image of the patterns I use. If you want to email me at nostalgicnicknack@gmail.com I’ll send those to you! The bead sizes are the perler midi beads. Perler (and other bead companies like TopTierBeads) have two different sizes, midi & mini. Minis are very small..midis are normal sizes. Let me know if you have any more questions! Ryan

    These are greate, you inspired me to get some beads and have a go, my only problem is the take up a 30 by 30 peg board, is there anyway to make them a bit smaller without going to mini beads?

    • @nostalgicnicknacks
      @nostalgicnicknacks หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome to hear! I love beading and I know you will too. The 30 x 30 pegboard is the standard size but you can get some kits like these www.amazon.com/dp/B0BG5NMXQH/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_YQX04926QTK5GJFSQZ7P?linkCode=ml2&tag=rdwalk-20 They may offer a slightly different size for you. However if you want to get much smaller, you can go with minis. All of that being said, you can make a small perler on a regular sized board. You could even put four beads down and iron them with no problem on a regular sized board. Hopefully this helps you! Let me know if you have any more questions. Also, if you choose to start beading, don’t forget about my 15% off discount from TopTierBeads and Amazon links for perler bead accessories. Happy beading! - Ryan
