Ovechkin is the Wilt Chamberlain/Lebron of the NHL. Has all the records, won’t see another, but in Ovis case seems like he would have more than 1 ring with all that was just presented. Just like wilt or in lebrons case he lost a lot

On the note for Vasy, apparently when he was growing up, they didn't have a catching right glove, hence why he catches with the left.

One thing ive been impressed by the ducks coaching staff is actually Cutter Gauthier. Based on watching him in college, i thought he was gonna be a pure offense, no effort on defense type of player. But by golly the kid is chasing, hitting, forechecking, backchecking and really putting in the effort and drive! Honestly very happy about that.

Honestly, the gold plan from the PWHL makes a lot of sense. If a team tanks hard early, it would be near impossible to get a roster good enough to win enough games later in the season. Other teams would be hesitant to trade good players to that team during the season too. Im excited to see how that looks in a few years.

Love your ducks content. I think they ride out Cronin this year and the players will determine if he's back or not with exit interviews. I kind of disagree on the man to man d vs zone. This team was horrible in the zone under eakins. The problem with the man to man is their gap control. They are giving them too much space and watching the Puck thus making them chase players. They have been most successful in this d when they would give the opposing team no space to breath and swarming. Oddly this comes out almost always late in the game when they are trying to get that goal back and are aggressive. But outside of the st loius and Philly game, they have been fun to watch finally.

I think the biggest issue with reverse hits is, often they happen to a person not actually going in for a big body check, and more often a poke check. So they are doubly unprepared and end up hurt. I also see alot of shoulders and elbows hitting faces in these replays.

Wanted to leave a comment as a lifelong caps fan, this is one of the greatest Ovechkin videos I've ever seen. It's hard to put into words what he has meant to me and the city as a whole. He's changed things forever, not just the team but the league itself. There is no comparable for the Great Eight until we see someone else even close to him come along, He's simply superhuman in nature. Prime Ovechkin highlights during his 06-09 seasons show how Alien he is, He was and still is, in the words of Joe Beninati, Simply Sensational.

From watching MacT, Leo an Cutter, one would assume that Senneke is 3 yrs away from being an effective NHLer with this development group. The offense is non existent, last in the league in most offense categories. I don't see how they continue with this coach after this season.

  • @deanm375

I don't have any answer but the Ducks need to stop with the weak passes, the no-look passes. They need to throw more pucks at the net while other players are crashing the net so they can get to rebounds instead of trying to feather a pass in front of the opposing crease. They need their defensemen to stay along the boards AT the blue line to hold pucks in the zone. Too many times pucks are wrapped around the boards and nobody is home.

Great breakdown! I think we miss the playoffs again this year but i think we’ll be in a better spot next year. Dumo will probably be moved at the deadline and it sucks cause he’s a good player. But it’s gonna be good for LaCombe, Minty, Helleson, and Zelly to be out there every game along with Trouba and Gudas. I think the best time to fire Cronin would be this offseason and i think we should go after Marner and bring Sennecke up

Again great well thought out content. I wish more hockey folks knew of this channel. Quality over quantity. 👌 Of the Ducks, my thoughts whatever it's worth... I think maybe not in the future but right now they've gotten experience and leadership to their blueline and feels it kinda has started slowly showing. It's still a young bunch but couple physical hardnose guys on the blueline (and in the locker room) might be working some magic in terms of team's balance.

  • @OhYaSure

FANTASTIC! I’m a beer league pro who started later in his mid 20s now in mid 40s. I’m a righty who shoots left. All my peers’s shot was better than mine as we progressed, but my stick handling, deking, and poke checking was better. 20 years later and I’ve finally figured out my shot lol. My theory about this topic of left and right and dominant side… Righty shooting right understand weight distribution off the bat, and will shoot more with their bottom hand. It’s stronger, and can punch with power and accuracy. Right shooting left, like Matthews, is he’s leading with his top dominant hand, via toe drag, creates a bow and shoots square to the puck (hips forward). Pulling it tight while he loads the stick with the toe allows him to whip the puck off his toe and and near his body for MEGA TORQUE. TLDR right shooting : mechanics rewards bottom hand strength and precision. Left shooting: Load via toe (right wrist roll) pull and whip (right hand), roll wrist when shooting (right wrist). Left arm just has to punch.
