Thanks so much! Most helpful tutorial on this I've seen. Side note, there's a way to sidechain in SPAN to overlay both the reference and your current mix in one overlayed SPAN window
im new to ableton, how do you get the synth audio preview from the start of the beginning? hope this makes sense. thanks :)
Not better than Bias, THU, Mooer GE labs, Aurora Dsp, it’s meh
You made it sound great though
legend
i kind of want to cry i am working with the lite versiion because i can't afford serum or the full ableton and its really hard to find tutorials that have this in mind. Thank you so much
Thanks, I used to be where you are and now I know that beginners need a good push and sometimes simple things aren’t that simple when you’re starting out. There’s so many plugins you really don’t need to make great music that I’m actually making my next video about it 🤘😎 stay strong and make great music 😊
wow it's really sounding lowkey like some moog synht bass. 19:50
Drift is super underrated. It is actually a very well designed synth 🤘😎
@@Busiless the fact that i named my drift "moog lowkey" after watching your vid about drift tutorial. Keep it coming for other stuff tutorial in ableton. Thank you!
Whoa we have the same amp dude 😅
Still have it and still using it, do you use it also with a bass guitar?
incredible
Thanks 😊 any suggestions for future tutorials? 🤘😎
qartveli xar dzma
$300 for this is wayyyyyy too much
Yep. Bit pricey. Didn’t know the price while making a video 🤷🏻♂️ I guess if someone is a professional and needs exactly that, the price won’t be a problem but for a hobbyist, very expensive
Hi . you did a great job with this video. but I can't get the plugins to work. I mean the plugins open on the screen but I only get the normal bass sound. I can't get it to work and I don't know what to do. I'm starting to get frustrated I can't even get the plugins that come with the focusrite to work. I can't process any sound through any plugins just the natural sound of my bass. I hope you can help me Thanks
Hi. Sorry for the late response. Tell me more about your setup. Computer, interface, DAW. For what I think it has to be some kind of audio routing problem. The sound probably omitted the DAW somehow and all plugins and is going straight to the speakers. But let me know more and we’ll see
How do i connect a guitar to pc and use it, cant find a right video😭
Hi. I have a vid on that topic. It’s about Ableton but it works the same for any other DAW (music making software) th-cam.com/video/Cc6004S3p0o/w-d-xo.html
I need to check this out. I am exclusive on Bias, AmpliTube, Gelabs by Mooer is great and free, so many more. I still rock the hell out of JamUp one lol! This sounds good THU overload is close to best. Choptones get You there
Hey question! Im a guitar player and convinced my parents to get a bass but rn i cant afford an amp. I have an old grumpy amp i started out with, which, honeystly i dont even care about- i was given it because when i started out i coudlnt find an amp for a week or so- and this amp used to make my guitar sound like a bass. Is it okay to use it? I mean,i will use it as a bedroom amp, ofc, until i gr a better one. But does the sound change like a LOT?
Hi. Sure it will work. Especially as a practice amp. Don't worry about the sound and tone, it's all about you hearing what you play and practicing how clean you play it. I still haven't bought a bass amp but I also play through a computer plugins. All the best Good luck 🤘😎
Making you install the PCB to the cardboard box THEN have you solder seems like bad design lol
Haha, well I'm just a soldier (solder 😅) following orders. Anyway it's simple enough but still the most difficult was screwing it to the box, had to cut the video aggressively 😅
@@Busiless not blaming you, just saying the product making you solder by a flammable box sounds like a bad idea
@stevie1da_ yes yes I know you were talking about the product 🤘😎. Yes true it could be a bit more thought of 👍
1:50 I have the same coaster :)
Haha yes, I use these all the time. I love the titles on these coasters 😁
Thank you for this. I wanted to try this out before dropping a bill or 4 on the daw. Thanks.
Happy to help. 😊. And even with the limitations of the lite version it still can do a lot so it's worth the try 🤘😎
Great video. Thanks! One thing I noticed is that the shifter can create a double trigger effect. Two consecutive kick hits sounded like three in my mix. A solution in my case is to turn the window slider down to 10 ms.
That's great. Thanks for that, yes sometimes I've noticed some phasing sounds when I've launched both together but now there's a solution 🤘😎
The "Tremolo" and "Envelope" terms are incorrect. "Tremolo" should be "Vibrato" or "Frequency Modulation", and "Envelope" should be "Tremolo" or "Amplitude Modulation".
That's right, I'm actually mentioning that in the video at some point. Guys do good electronics but need some more musical knowledge 😂 other than that it's pretty cool
do you have any good recommendation on a budget sampler? i desperatly want a KO-II but my budget says otherwise, a Korg Sampler is quite cheap but needs other equipment for the full potential
Hi. Unfortunately no idea in that field. Sorry and good luck! 🤘😎
Great video What type of interface are you using im newbie Thanks
Hi. Thank you. I'm using Focusrite Scarlett solo 3rd gen. Very good for some home recording 🤘😎
@@Busiless cool i just bought scarlett solo.4th gen i think. cant get it to work with guitar rig 7 pro
@@brian16164 has to work. Windows? Just install proper drivers and set it up in GR7 settings (the top corner beside the logo opens the menu). Other than that, you can use it through a DAW (like Ableton, FL studio, Reason or many other music making programs) as a plugin and use in it. Let me know if this helped out are there some other problems?
It reminded me of the PAiA Gnome from the late '70s. But the Gnome was all analog, of course, and had more control over parameters. Still very neat to see an inexpensive modern kit that might inspire people of the newest generations.
Sure. Need to check exactly what you're referring to as I can't remember 😉 project was easy enough to make and it's still working so yes, worth the price. I did many DIY kits back at school but not all of them were good 🤨🤦 😁.
is Lite and Intro the same version?
Hi. Not exacty. Both versions are limited in options but Intro is considered to be a slightly higher version than Lite. Main differences are Lite has 8 Audio/Midi tracks and Intro has 16, Lite has fewer Audio and midi effects. But in general it's not that much of a difference.
2:00 Ey, one thing I didn't realize when picking up guitar again is how many custom accounts I would need to make with an email. I had to make a separate gmail just to wrangle all of these music accounts. It would be better if these companies let you login with a gmail or something. I guess they are getting $ somehow from peoples information. :o
Yes, there's a lot of giving your email away. Mostly what I think is for marketing their own product. They give you a free plugin but limited with an option to try premium stuff. Then you will most likely think that you've outgrown the free version and want to buy more packages. Making a separate email for that is a good idea. I'm a bit messy with 2 different emails, I have some licences here, some others there 😂. Anyway, Yes I'm also kinda rediscovering a guitar and even taking some pro lessons and I find it a lot fun! All the best!!!
@@Busiless oh ya separate emails for specific activities is the way to go. I have like maybe ~8 gmail accounts now, which sounds excessive, but really does keep things in order. 😅 Just keep the passwords set in the password app on your phone the use the gmail or email aggregate app to group them together. Great job on the video, very informative thanks!
@everything-bagel thanks. Feel free to send some video suggestions when you'll have something 😁 hunting for things musicians want to watch 🤘😎
@@Busilesshmm 🤔 videos that make subjective tier lists tend to get a lot of views these days. Maybe a tier list on amp sims, plugins etc. I tried using Neural Amp with some downloaded bundles, but could not get it to sound decent… probably my fault but an intro to Neural Amp for newbs would be good. 🫡
Thank you. I always look forward to your creative and inspiring video content 😊
Thanks a million 🤘😎 enjoy 😁
I had to build it immediately. Thanks for reminding me that you can do quite much with the stock plugins if you know what you need.
Yes. I got fed up getting new plugins. I'm back trying to learn what the stock ones can do 🤘😎 all the best!
Thank you so much for this informative vid!!!
not even going to lie, at all... this has to be one of the hardest intros of all time.
😂 I'm pretty sure it was hard to make, but it can be also hard to watch 😅😁
@@Busiless it was entertaining lol
Which Mic are you using to record?!
Hi. This one as far as I remember was recorded with Zoom H1 recorder
Thanks a lot! I am here (probably as some others) because I feel like I don't have enough kidneys to sell to have Ableton. I had no idea there is another way, so thank you <3 I purchased the app (yea, iOS user here), the link for lite came immediately. (And if you are still on budget, there are people sharing their lite codes for free or some shady markets where you can buy it for the third of a price.. and get scammed in the process <3 ) From what I heard, Lite is good enough for a beginner like me.
Haha great to hear. The lite version is really good, there are limitations but I'll tell you it's better for creativity. I was making more music with less options than I have now 😅. And sure I'd be careful with some shady codes. Also now when you have three Ableton you will get cheaper upgrades and the black friday/cyber Monday is your friend if you need to upgrade 🤘😎
But how when many plug-in on midi, latency high lag 😢
Hi. Yep that can happen, what you can do is that Ableton has a low latency mode in the settings, try that. Also when you're recording try turning off the monitoring and listen without effects from your audio interface's direct monitoring (if you have that option). Also try freezing other midi tracks, you can unfreeze them later.
@@Busiless my drum midi Route problem freeze, I haven't tried it if sidechain is disabled
Yes, true. Can't freeze if sidechaining.
That's one of the coolest synthwave-ish bass I've ever heard. Thanks for that.
And thank you. It is actually cool 😁🤘😎 are you starting with the synthwave genre?
@@Busiless No but it's always good to have more different bass sounds. By the way, your other sound design videos are very helpful, too.
@robertpenway thank you. All the best bro🤘😎
Thank you so much.
Happy to help! 🤘😎
great! i just got my first electric guitar and wanted to use it with ableton
Great. It's super fun to be able to record something and share with the world. 🤘😎
Very well explained and easy to understand. This helps a lot. Thank you 😊
Super happy to help :) All the best
hello sir, need ur help. i'm using reaper for my daw, but sadly my guitar rig 7 plugin seems not detected to reaper. i used to watch some tutorial, and i'm confused cause they have a dll file on vst plugin and i don't. i tried to uninsall-intsall the native but there's no answer. and also i've tried to use guitar rig standalone and it works very well. i'm just confused why my reaper can't read the plugin and why i don't have a dll file. maybe u can help me? :( i'm stressed out
Hi. Unfortunately I have no experience in Reaper at all. I suppose that has something in common with vst installation path. As far as I remember the VST plugins on windows have .dll extension and they are probably installed in some other folder. Usually during installation you can choose VST2, or VST3 or VST64 folder and these will be there probably. Try to point Reaper in the settings to that folder. Try different options. Hope that helps!
@@Busiless thanks for responding, i didn't expect u'll respond my comment. the problem was solved after a couple hour i commented, and yes the dll file doesn't exist but it works when I choose the VST3 on my daw (but still there's no dll file but who cares as long as it works as well) 😭😭🤣🤣 thanks sir, i appreciate ur respond. God bless you.
Thank mate, I had been struggling with this thing for some while now, just wanted to make something with more freedom and you helped me do that means a lot.
Super nice to hear that, and I'm happy to help. Sure I was struggling to and it took me some trial and error 🤨😅 but great that it's possible. What type of music are you creating?
In Ableton live 12 it works perfectly but in garageband it doesn't work. Any suggestion, because I usually work on garageband? The mouse also it is hardly move any knobs on the programs.
Hi. Garageband takes AU files and not VST files. Try to locate these. Here can be a helpful article: support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210292525-How-to-Insert-Native-Instruments-Plug-ins-in-GarageBand#:~:text=window%20for%20playback.-,Inserting,-NI%20Effects%20in
@@Busiless Thank you very much, bro, I will read it. Really appreciate...
But my problem was that garageband did not work at all, it stopped working and it displayed a message "an audio plug is causing the system to be unstable and garageband has to close"; that was the most terrifying I had come up to in my life because I couldn't open my songs. Finally, I took off all 3rd party plug ins and my songs started to work. Finally, now I'm working with 3rd party plug ins and it looks fine... I don't know for how long.
@vassilisicemanagopian7657 ok now I get it. Well glad you've saved it. It happened once to me but did the same. One synth was causing the issue. Alternatively You could try Ableton Live as a DAW. It's, well a bit more powerful 😉 you can get a free or nearly free version th-cam.com/video/QSw_6NaW-2w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=l92bD6sId2gYQlC3
@@Busiless I have Ableton live, it came with a focusrite, it's not the pro version, it gives you only 8 channels I think, and you have to, if you have 4 guitars for example, to merge the guitars all the time and it's something that once it is done, it cannot be undone, and I find Ableton complicated and on the other hand I find Garageband much more easier and it gives me much more freedom to do things and experiment with music.
that sounds great!
Thanks. I'm thinking of making something even cooler 😏 but what could that be? 😁 Any suggestions?
i am trying to record it on Ableton but the audio comes out all staticky , i was hoping there was a solution with this that i could probably get help with
It could be a lot of things unfortunately. But in general if you hear the sound of the guitar in the Ableton correctly but it records bad it can be something with audio settings (sample rate 44100 or 48000khz are usually ok) or bit rate in record settings (24 or 16 will be good to test) warping ( set it to off ) or in the worst case CPU or hard drive (least possible). But if you already hear bad audio before recording then it may be also hardware ( interface, cable, guitar) check and let me know 🤘😎 hope it helps
Answered a lot of my questions in 10 minutes. Thanks!
Hi. My pleasure 🤘😎 happy to help 👍
Poor dan, hope he recovers from that brutal crash 😂
Haha still recovering 😂
Thank you so much. great info.
Thank you for the tutorial on installing this!
Perfect. Thks
"which distortion will we take?" argh
😂🤷♂️
Sounded thin and fizzy. Couldn't use any of those tones.
Hi. Sure it depends what will be the application. For professional and super clean recordings, let's wait for an update 😉 for fun and just more bedroom recording it's actually cool (given the price). Also it depends on the genre I think. What do you usually play?
how do you set up the input in the standalone app? If you're using ableton you can do it from the settings, but on the standalone I don't see any settings.
Hi. The settings are in the top menu. Just beside the "Guitar Rig" logo on the top left, there are 3 vertical dots menu. CLick these and in "File" there are "Preferences" (at least on mac) and then the audio tab. Let me know if it works 🤘😎
Great review bro it helped me out to understand and learn more about that plugin cause am new to vst plugins and that kind of things and I've downloaded Tonelib gfx and am gonna try it out , greetings from Egypt ❤️
Happy to hear it. Great. There's a lot of plugins and this one is quite good. Try it on the trial and you'll see if it suits you 🤘😎
