Great episode, thanks for sharing
Thank you, I’m very pleased you enjoyed it. 🙂👍
Why does he sprinkle crack on everything? Does it make it look better? 😅
🤣 I was waiting for a comment like this. Took longer then I expected. 🙂👍
No idea whats going on.. but good on you mate!! I love to see people doing something/being productive
Thank you I appreciate it. If you click the link on the video it will take you too the original Metal Bender Build which should make it clearer. 🙂👍
I’m asking from a position of ignorance, and I genuinely would like an answer - why was the route you took preferable to sinking a couple of countersunk holes & some flush mounted lag bolts at the points of flexion? You’d have a couple more holes in your bench, but is there a structural reason why that’s patently goofy? Cheers!
That’s a good question. I actually considered it and it would have been much quicker. But I thought it would put too much strain on the edge of the bench and so opted to do it like this. Just seems much more secure clamped around the bench. Thought would make a good follow up video too. 🙂👍
Classy from start to finish. Great video, and the music slaps. Would watch twice. Oh, wait, I did!
😁 Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and pleased I chose the right music. 🙂👍
What did you use for the hinges?
I used 100mm weldable hinges. This is the link to them: ebay.us/3qb9hc 🙂👍
Yes that's exactly what I was thinking too. Although you came up with a better solution. By the way your stick welding is just fine. The mig welder I'm using is for auto body work and repairs.
Thanks again Tom. Like I said I should have made it right the first time. I have a small mig as well, which although it will weld 5 or 6 mm it is more I suited to thinner steel. I also like stick welding. 🙂👍
Awesome!! Best one I've seen so far. Great fabrication!! I will try this, but with a mig welder which I think would be a cleaner finish.
Thank you so much Tom. I appreciate your kind words. 🙂 Although your not faulting my welding are you. (just kidding) I agree mig would make a much smoother cleaner finish. Hope it goes well. 👍🙂

Wow ❤❤❤

Verdict: No complaints. Looks great. You did a nice job!
I feel like my science teacher has just marked my work 😁. I am very grateful for your comment though. Thank you very much. 🙂👍
Every 2 minutes, Nice!
Great job very nice! Also that you cut stones and cement around obstacles. I would have just gone to fill with gravel. Respect
Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I did get carried away, but also enjoyed the process. 🙂👍
Really nice job. A lot of stuff to work around. It looks great.
Thank you very much. Yeah it was a bit fiddly 😁 but enjoyable to do. Especially with how it turned. 🙂👍
How do you measure if there are curves in the walkway?
Hi, well if you have a curved walkway you really need to cement in an edging then lay all your blocks in the centre of the path as near to the edging as they will go. You will the have to cut all the remaining blocks to match up to the edging. There should be plenty of videos on TH-cam showing the process. I hope this helps. 🙂👍
BEAUTIFUL 😍
Thank you so much. 🙂👍
Maybe a couple of hooks under bench to keep the flex down and make it a little sturdier.
You are absolutely right it does. I have actually already modified it by welding on two pieces of flat bar which go under the bench and catch the two securing bolts. Makes it much better. 🙂👍
@@revivalworkshop Hope it works better. Looks very serviceable either way
@@willardlentz3044 Thank you Willard, I did video the modification so I might do a follow up video. 🙂👍
@@revivalworkshop Always try to be helpful to makers. I will watch the video soon
@@willardlentz3044 Hi Willard, I have made a modification to stop the flexing. If you are interested you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/WzG-26T-Q3w/w-d-xo.html Works much better now 🙂
Bravo 👏👏👏
Very tidy indeed.😊
Thank you very much. 🙂👍
Nice neat job that .....👍😁 Pleasant background noise too 😅
Thank you, I’m glad you like it. Just watch a bit of it to remind me of the sounds. 😁
It’s just a block paved alley I fell asleep watching this video
It must be a very relaxing watch 😁 hope you enjoyed it up to the point you fell asleep 🙂👍
It’s really interesting to see. Good to see how an expert does it. Thank you.😊
I wouldn’t say I’m an expert by a long way 🙂. Actually my first time block paving, but I’m fairly handy at most things and just like to do a good. Really pleased you enjoyed it, thank you. 🙂👍
Nice work there 👏🏼
Thank you 🙂👍
very cool 🙂
Thanks, I’m pleased you like it. 🙂👍
Absoloutley fantastic job...
Thank you so much. I’m very pleased how it turned out.
Needs a weed barrier.
Yeah I’m sure it will end up being a problem. Thing is if I’d put a weed barrier below the blocks weeds will still grow. Might be best with a setting sand between the blocks. Hope you enjoyed watching. 🙂👍
nice
Thank you 👍🙂
Superb workmanship
Thank you so much, not sure it’s superb but I am very pleased with it. 🙂👍
Looks good but why no cement, dry or wet, underneath on the main path? Plus using dry kiled sand will not stop weeds growing in between. Either a dry 5-1 sand-cement mix or even better, sand and lime mix. Weeds dont like lime.
Hi, there is no need for any cement underneath, a captive sand base is very solid. You are correct it won’t stop weeds and a great idea using lime mix, although I do want to be able to easily lift any blocks if the need arises. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂👍
Really wonderful work, and great quality TH-cam video: peaceful music, no b*llocks, just very fine work, step by step. 👏🏻
Thank you very much, I really appreciate your kind words 🙂👍
love the colour
Thank you Charlene, they do look nice I’m very pleased with the look. 🙂👍
Beautifully done! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much. 🙂👍

Beautiful job!
Thank very much. 🙂👍
What a fantastic job you did , this looks beautiful !
Thank you so much I’m very pleased you like it. I’m chuffed with how it turn out and I very much enjoyed the process. 🙂👍
Anyone know what these blocks are called? Thanks
I bought these second hand, but I believe they are Marshall’s Tegula block pavers. Not sure of the colour though. Hope that helps. 🙂👍
@@revivalworkshop perfect thank you.
Nice clean watchable video, I dare say you’ll change the boarder bricks at some time
Thanks I’m very pleased you enjoyed it. The boarder bricks (used to be a gravel path) have been there for 20 years or so and they go with the house. So I don’t have any plan to change them, just repair whenever needed. 🙂👍
Lovely job! Great cuts! Love the raised brick edging!
Thank you, I laid the raised brick edging about 15 years ago as a border to the garden and a then gravel path. I liked them so decided to keep them. Very pleased you liked it. 🙂👍
