    I’m asking from a position of ignorance, and I genuinely would like an answer - why was the route you took preferable to sinking a couple of countersunk holes & some flush mounted lag bolts at the points of flexion? You’d have a couple more holes in your bench, but is there a structural reason why that’s patently goofy? Cheers!

    • @revivalworkshop
      @revivalworkshop 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That’s a good question. I actually considered it and it would have been much quicker. But I thought it would put too much strain on the edge of the bench and so opted to do it like this. Just seems much more secure clamped around the bench. Thought would make a good follow up video too. 🙂👍

    Yes that's exactly what I was thinking too. Although you came up with a better solution. By the way your stick welding is just fine. The mig welder I'm using is for auto body work and repairs.

    • @revivalworkshop
      @revivalworkshop หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks again Tom. Like I said I should have made it right the first time. I have a small mig as well, which although it will weld 5 or 6 mm it is more I suited to thinner steel. I also like stick welding. 🙂👍

  • @tomgreen6206

    How do you measure if there are curves in the walkway?

    • @revivalworkshop
      @revivalworkshop 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, well if you have a curved walkway you really need to cement in an edging then lay all your blocks in the centre of the path as near to the edging as they will go. You will the have to cut all the remaining blocks to match up to the edging. There should be plenty of videos on TH-cam showing the process. I hope this helps. 🙂👍

    Looks good but why no cement, dry or wet, underneath on the main path? Plus using dry kiled sand will not stop weeds growing in between. Either a dry 5-1 sand-cement mix or even better, sand and lime mix. Weeds dont like lime.

    • @revivalworkshop
      @revivalworkshop 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, there is no need for any cement underneath, a captive sand base is very solid. You are correct it won’t stop weeds and a great idea using lime mix, although I do want to be able to easily lift any blocks if the need arises. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂👍
