Maintenance Tips: Lubricating interior of revolver
มุมมอง 2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Hey followers! I've recently made this video FREE and available for everyone! Your revolvers do benefit from a periodic teardown and interior lubrication. Here's how to remove the cylinder and yoke, and the sideplate, so you can get in there and knock out the dust.

Lube Techniques for Tactical Pistols

Lubricating guns doesn't need aerosols and it shouldn't take an ounce of oil. A few precise drops of oil in the right place will work wonders and save you money. This video is about lubrication, not cleaning, which are two totally different processes! A good lube schedule will reduce the cleaning schedule but you should still clean your firearm at regular intervals. #slip2000 #realavid #grypsho...

Armscorp M200 v Colt Cobra
มุมมอง 3.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I went into a lot of length in my M200 teardown video (th-cam.com/video/7c4syC-sLl4/w-d-xo.html) and that can be a lot for folks to chew on. Here, I compare the M200 with a modern-make Colt Cobra. You get to see into the guts of a revolver and learn a bit more about how the parts interface with each other. More importantly you have a 1:1 comparison between a cheap, new production revolver and a...

    That little tool was garbage. All that need to do is use your thumbnail to remove that spring and pin. I work on these a lot and those gimmic tools will ruin the spring and marr up the frame but you already proved that.

    Sir, It's a $270.00 +/- gun. I totally disagree. Before your review did you even bother to take this gun to the range to see how it actually performs. I have watched many reviews on the revolver and your review and comments are definitely in the minority.

    I take strong exception to the Armscor 200 critic. I purchased my first Model 200 in October 2010. I have put a lot of .38's down range with my Armscor. When I say a lot, at least 600-rounds+ in a near 14-year period of ownership. My 200 was so bad that I purchased two more Armscor revolvers, the Model 206 double & single-action and a DAO Model 206. The first 206 came 10-years ago, the DAO 206 a recent purchase. Yeah buddy, the fact that the 200 has the same exact profile as the 1977 Colt Police Positive, with exception to the Colt blue finish. Right out of the box in 2010, at the local gun range, I have shot mostly standard load .38's, with quite a few rounds of +P ammo.The 200 and 206 Armscor has thick steel top straps, excellent fixed sights, and factory grips that can be interchanged with post 1966 Colt D-Frame Grips, if desired. I don't know about this man's Model 200. But food for thought. Considering the excellent, no problem service I have received from all three Armscor Revolvers I now own, if I were a young cop again, back in our revolver days, my confidence in the Armscor would extend to duty revolver use.This young man needs to price the new Colt Viper that. Colt has recently introduced. At 999-dollars a pop, for a fixed sight .38/.357 revolver, the Armscor critic can get that fine detail to polishing, minus some of the machining markings on the inside of the frame, totally invisible to the naked eye. My trigger-action on my first Armscor, the Model 200, seem to smooth out after a couple of hundred rounds or so. For my 250-dollar Model 200, and the two Model 206 Revolvers, smooth sailing from hard time testing. The Model 200 is a working man's handgun.You can pack this arm in your vehicle, in your boat, at home for violent booger-bears visiting uninvited, for the armed security officer, that wants a reliable duty revolver that will provide the defense needed. The only competitor that comes close to the reliability of the Model 200, is the Taurus Model 82. Why would this gentleman pay 250-bucks for a new Model 200 just to make a video bad-mouthing the hell out of it? There are plenty of satisfied Armscor 200 and 206 owners that will disagree with your "short-life" prediction of your Model 200. Maybe you were one of the unlucky buyers that got a lemon 200. Send it back to the factory with a detailed explanation of what you think is wrong. They back their product line up. My ownership of the Armscor also extends to their excellent GI 1911 .45 Pistol.

    My 4 5/8" Vaquero won't cock if I put the long lower frame screw and pin inlet on the right side. My 7.5" Vaquero doesnt care but the pin sticks out the frame a little more if I orient it to the left.

    I HAVE A M605 PROTECTOR 357 WHAT IS BEST WAY TO LUB DOUBLE ACTION STIFF TRIGGER

    • @robwilkes3351
      @robwilkes3351 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The trigger won't be helped with any kind of lubrication. You need to replace the trigger return spring with a weaker one. The stock spring is 14 pounds and is basically the sole cause of the trouble. Wolff springs sells good replacements, I put the 6.5 pound version in my Stainless 605 and it's a dream now. They also sell reduced power hammer springs, but I don't want to mess with the gun's ability to strike a primer. Anyway, it looks like the trigger return springs on the standard and poly versions are the same. I can tell you you'll have to trim the spring for the steel version, as the spring is the correct length for the older models of the revolver. The standard advice is to trim 2 turns of spring, but I had to trim 2.5. You can get it delivered to your door for about $10. Good luck.

    I trust what your saying because your a smith. But with these being budget out of 5 revolvers you might get 3 ok. Check timing and lock up. Cylinder gap and barrel cant. If shop wont let you ge somewhere else. I looked at 2 and did this and picked the one i wanted. Granted this is only a range gun for me. Not a carry piece for sure

    My M200 did the same seizing upon backing the hammer. And on the same chamber each time too. I simply forced it back when the hammer snagged a few times. The problem solved. Obviously due to the rough parkerized finish on the cylinder/forcing cone.

  • @AKAKiddo
    @AKAKiddo 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    There's a bit of misinformation here in regards to timing. Ideally the bolt should come up in the lead to the cylinder notch. Not at the cylinder notch. You don't want the bolt to start peaning the edge of the cylinder notch. That will cause problems later when the bolt won't fully enter the notch.

    One thing that you really need to do anytime you buy a revolver is test it for push off, especially anytime you're messing with sear angles. With the hammer cocked back, push forward to make sure it doesn't go forward! If it does you have one dangerous firearm and the sear and trigger need to be reground. Also I've never worked on ANY revolver that had Loctite on the side plate screws. Just tighten them down with a proper screwdriver and they'll stay put.
