You can complain about the rule but the judge's job is to apply it. This time he invaded a friend's lane but how is a judge supposed to know and regardless, why make exceptions?

Lets be serious here. The rule is in place for safety of others still swimming, While he won fair and square and they could have & should have publicly reprimanded him but the DQ was harsh.

We call this rule Form 47 in Pakistan

Most people don't realise just how good a friend and/or sport the other guy was. At 0:43, when it happens, you can see the friend notice it, tell him "Dude.." and literally try to PUSH him back to his own lane. He even tries to be discreet about it with the camera there, which he awkwardly smiles at.

When you play a sport by their rules and break them despite how petty the rules may be, they were the rules that were agreed upon.

I thought they'd give the medal to a trans person.

Is it possible that the NCAA may change that rule soon? In my opinion you should be able to do that or perhaps have the NCAA not allow swimmers from the same university next to one another to prevent it from happening. This is just awful.

I feel like the should remove that rule like if the person who’s lane gets jumped into is done then it should be fine

Why are these swimmers all so skinny and not in shape. At my swim club at least 90% including myself are in much better physical shape. their arms are skinny lol
