It was also used by Jewish groups fighting against the Nazi's in the second world war, for example in ghetto uprisings. When you look at the lyrics of this song, it also makes sense, because it mentions that the town is burning, just like in the ghetto uprising. The blue and white flag was used by the Jewish Combat Organization, which is Polish. It has nothing to do with Israel.
