I bought this watch . Originally wanted the blue. Now I'm glad i got the green. Beautiful coin bezel is stunning. My srtap has darkened with time which is better.

My Ginault Ocean Rover 2 is my favorite sub too.

That islander rangemaster looks super cool, quite unique. Definitely more suited to the rubber option. I’m still loving my blue sn144 even though the dial was placed a feather to the left. I’ve learnt to just ignore it each time I look at it!

Phoibos definitely one of the best watches at the affordable price.

I got the Rangemaster mechanical, but this year's version was not for me. I don't hate it, just doesn't fit what I am looking for. However, I've had my eye on several you showed, so would guess we share similar tastes on some watch aesthetics. Great picks-ups though, and hope your next year is as fruitful.

I use my bezel to time cooking potatoes etc. Super handy.

What does the bottom of the shirt say ? I also added the blue dial San Martin to my collection this year I love it date wheel is straight the screws were tight but didn’t strip it was close tho

Just ordered one of these (red helix) - wil be annoyed if it has to go for repair when I receive it - fingers crossed all will be ok :)

Thanks for the excellent review. I purchased this watch in the 42 mm size and I love it. Fortunately I didn’t experience the same challenge as you did with the screws. Mine were tight but I was able to remove them without any damage to the screws or the watch. This is my 6th San Martin and I’ve been very pleased with each and every one of them.

I have the Tandario Red sandwich dial . It’s a field/pilots watch. Love it. I can’t see paying as much as premium brands charge!

I bought the watch dives steel diver omega 1969 homage a few months ago and they really upped their game because the earlier issues where fixed like the bezel is tight and doesn’t move either direction unless you depress the button and the bar over the crown stays attached when you unscrew it to wind or change time or date. It looks and wears awesome so I would have no issues buying other watches from them.

Hi, I got mine yesterday, no denying it is a beautiful piece. However my one (like others have commented on Reddit) had the dial placed slightly to the left, like it needs rotating a feather clockwise. It is most noticeable if I look at the 6 o clock marker against the case coming down from the 12 marker. Do you know if I can move the dial by opening the case back? In your open case back footage what would I need to do to move the dial slightly? Thanks for your help

I recently saw a Facebook post about this particular watch from the San Martin watch group and made a similar comment. San Martin should launch a V2 of this watch with a Miyota 9015 movement. This single change could elevate this timepiece in many ways, including its wearability and aesthetics. In my opinion, a large portion of the San Martin watch community would love to pay an extra sum of money in exchange for a slimmer watch case and a high-beat movement. I've seen both your videos on the SN0144 and SN0129. It would be great if you could produce separate content comparing these two watches head-to-head. To my knowledge, there isn't a single video on TH-cam covering this aspect. It’s always a great pleasure watching you dive deep into such reviews. Wishing you great success!

I have a 36mm orange version on the way. I presently own two other of their watches, as well as previously owning many others. Owning watches of this quality at the prices asked always puts a smile on my face, as Swiss equivalents cost about ten times more

San Martin does a great job.

I have that watch and yeah - it's really great except for the thickness. I'm pretty sure they could shave the 1,5mm if they wanted without changing the movement. Unfortunately I don't like the SN0144 case, and this one is diver thick without the diver usability... Also an H-link bracelet would be great with it, this one's a bit basic (although the clasp is great!).

I like your channel a lot - especially the calm way you present and the fact that you own these watches yourself and that you are actually wearing them and are judging them out of your own experience. When I bought my SN0144 I couldn‘t make up my mind whether to buy a blue or a red one. Finally I opted for the blue one and ordered the red dessert SN0129 later on so that I would compensate the red one. Seeing that you own the very same watches and your positive reviews I think I made the right decission. The red dessert is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. So fingers crossed…

Thanks for a thoughtful review. It might be one of the best affordable watches on sale. Full stop. I’m curious to see where San Martin will be 5, 10, 20 years from now. I think we are going to be seeing more and more AliExpress Brands use the Miyota movements and of course the more movements they sell, the cheaper they will get and so on and so forth. I’m going to be telling my grandchildren, “you used to be able to buy San Martin Watches straight from AliExpress….Yes it’s the same AliExpress Park where the Dodgers play. There was non of this putting your name down on a waiting list at an AD…”

Let me tell you about the Watch Dives quality and warranty. My Serica 5303 homage came with a movement that failed within 10 wearings as well as defective case milling. It took 8 months and two r/t's and $50 in shipping for repair. Then a new poblem surfaced after 4 more wearings, the marker at 3 fell off. Of course, I won't return it for more frustration and cost. It's just a $280 write-off. Buyer beware.

Rob… I do think you should have reviewed the Octopus Kraken on its own merits and not a comparison with Oris, that’s my opinion I myself have bought all 5 colours of the Octopus Kraken watch and saved a lot of money compared to buying 1 Oris

I don't think WatchDives is better than the Erebus ascent. WD has done my head in with it's split pin nonsense and that flimsy Temu type pin tool. The Dial on one hand looks appealing but on closer look it looks like it has blistered in the sun and is trying to pay Homage to a cheaper Addiesdive recent releas/es.Not quite there for me as I can stump up a bit more cash and Get a San Martin .

the price of WD0005 is very close to SM watches, so the slightly lower quality actually doesnt make WD a better bang for buck. The 2 brands are now pound for pound equal, IMO. It's up to individual whether they want spend $200 on a $200 watch or $300 on a $300 watch.

Fantastic video and watch. After watching the intro I had to check your sub count because the quality was so good. I got this watch in a week ago and have been really enjoying it. The screws were a tad tight adjusting the bracelet on mine as well but luckily not to the point that yours got to. My only other critique I go back and forth on is whether a white tip on the second hand vs the red would have went better with the color palate. Overall, for the money this watch is hard to beat. Great review overall; you’ve gained another sub.

Based on the movement's performance, it sounds like there was a magnetization issue. As much of a fan as I am of Jody, the offerings thus far from Erebus haven't really grabbed me.

I wish you would weigh the watches so that he would have some idea of how it would feel in hand and on wrist.
